Chapter 144: Countering a crowd of Yeti Part IV
Chapter 144: Countering a crowd of Yeti Part IV
A-hem!!
A second later, a loud cough came interrupting them both, as well as the tall figure of Wisana, firmly piggybacked by Angela, standing behind them.
In the mood of being possessive over his sister, Wisana looked at the other man with surly eyes. The one who was offended in his mind let out a bored sigh, while Waree was just smiling completely warily.
“Looks like you’re enjoying each other’s company a lot, lady and gentleman. Are you guys going to create your own little world now?”
“Come on, Na. We’re just having a little chit-chat.”
“I don’t buy it. You two seem to have some chemistry going on. Let me tell you something...”
GROOOWL!!!
Suddenly, there was a loud growl interrupting their conversation. A strong vibration made them flinch, the same with the other customers in the coffee shop who stopped talking and stayed still in caution instead.
“What was that?” Wisana looked around.
“This sound... is it...?” Shindanai stopped there. He stood up.
“This is bad, guys. The Yetis are acting crazy. The Grand Yeti is out here, too. Let’s run!”
Then there was someone running down the mountain, hands cupping around his mouth as he shouted. After that, people at the coffee shop started screaming and panicking as they packed up their things to leave the place.
Of course, in a situation like this, Wisana only raised his eyebrows confusedly, dipping a piece of bread into the pandan custard and chewing it in his mouth without caring about anything.
“Crap, why are the Yetis coming out now?!”
“They’re coming in a pack like this, we’ll be dead for sure. Let’s get the hell out of here guys!”
“Grand Yeti is out, too. Should we go hunt it?”
“Are you crazy? It’s just going to put us in the ground!”
“Son of a b*tch, pay your bills before you leave. Hey! don’t just leave like that, that’s cheating, you bloody people!”
“Dad, don’t worry about money right now. Worry that you might not find a proper grave for yourself in time instead!” The bawl and shout came and went quickly with many people running out of the coffee shop. Right now, there were only four players left who were looking at each other, eyes blinking with different feelings.
“What the heck is Yeti? And why are they running away?” As expected, the question came from the one who had the least knowledge about the game like usual. And the most unacceptable thing was how this guy was still concentratedly eating in a situation like this!
“This is not a joke, Vincent. Get up and have your weapons ready.” Shindanai commanded loudly before the tall figure leaped up to the top of a hill around the area. After his sharp eyes looked down at the valley, he saw a large group of monsters running up here, and their destination was where the party was standing!
The monsters looked like bears, but the differences were that they were a lot bigger, and they were covered in thick white fur like snow. Moreover, their eyes were flashing with blood thirst that radiated the killing aura obviously.
The thick eyebrows of the man frowned together instantly.
“Normally, the Yetis are not likely to come out around here ...This means that they smell the players that seem to be specially crowded on the mountain today, don’t they?” After finishing the analysis, Shindanai turned to Waree who seemed to be the most expert at the party.
“They’re really a pack of Yetis, hundreds of them. What do we do?”
“Do you think you can handle them?” Waree asked with a worried face. Shindanai nodded at the answer, then he glanced at Wisana and Angela.
“Don’t ask questions now, Vincent. Just know that we have to fight... a huge number of enemies. If you don’t think you can do it, you should run after the other players out of the mountains area.”
“Run? Me? Are you kidding?” The one who just got ordered grinned widely, before grabbing his coffee mug and drinking the coffee all in one gulp.
“My body’s warmed up now. I’m ready to fight anytime.” He said, then smiled as he was moving his limbs in warming up his body, too. “Also, our target is there, ahead of us. Why would I turn back now, right? I won’t give up until I get that one million points.”
Shindanai did not reply. He just looked down at the other little girl.
“Mage.” How he called her caused a lot of displeasure to the mage, so she frowned at him.
“My name is Angie.”
“Angie.” Shindanai sighed. “There’re many Yetis coming, so you should stay here. Try to use your magic to support us, attack them in a large area, okay?”
“’Kay.” Angela nodded in agreement easily. She also thought that with this large number of enemies, it would be better if she stayed behind to keep her fragile body safe.
“Waree, you come with me. We’re going to attack and get through the crowd of Yetis to get rid of the Grand. If we can kill the leader, the Yeti minions would just retreat right away.”
“That’s what I’m thinking, too.” Waree smiled in agreement, before looking at her brother.
“What about me? Should I go help you pave the way to their boss as well?” His question made the other young man roll his eyes.
“No.” He cut him off so sharply that made Wisana pause. “Stay here and try to protect the mag... Angie.”
“Hey, why does my job have to be so boring? Can I join you guys in fighting the titi things, too? Stay here and protect this kid? I don’t think so. What if she goes nuts and points her scepter to shoot a magic beam at me?” He complained, making the rest of them let out a long sigh in unison, especially the silver-haired girl who walked closer to kick Wisana in the leg with all her strength, making him cry out of pain.
“You have a problem staying with me?!” Angela snapped at him.
“Did you just kick me?! Damn, you’re a girl, Angie!” Wisana snapped back. And of course, the little girl just ignored him, turning her face away.
“Alright guys, that’s enough,” Waree said wearily. “Na, it’s best for you to stay here. Your level and the Yeti’s are too different. You should be here to protect Angie, so Shin and I can fight the leader of the pack without worrying.”
“What? Are you implying that I’m a burden?”
“No, it’s not like that!!” While the sister was putting her hands on her forehead, fed up with her brother’s stubbornness, Shindanai had already summoned a red fire element spear out. Then he turned to speak with a sharp voice.
“Maybe next time, Vincent.” The words that cut him off were serious, as well as his expression. “This time, Waree and I want to end it as fast as possible for our safety. Also, I’m planning to clear the way to the pack’s leader; I won’t have time to kill every Yeti. So, there has to be some of them slipping out to attack Angie for sure. That’s why you need to guard and keep this mage safe. I hope you’d understand.”
“Fine!” He agreed grudgingly, before summoning his ball of flame out to transform it into a level one fire element sword.
“We’ll get going then.”
“Be careful, Na, Angie.”
After that, two figures jumped and slid down the hill from the outdoor coffee shop quickly, leaving the other two members of the party there to blink at each other.
What the heck, they were enjoying warm coffee just a while ago, and now they had to fight some monsters again? ... This Pride world was really chaotic, for goodness’s sake!
“Tch! Those two got along way too well.” His mind was thinking about something, but his mouth complained about another. Wisana hurriedly ran to watch the battle that was about to happen below with interest. And the other one beside him frowned, sighed, then she nagged.
“You over-possessive freak!”
