Chapter 143: Countering a crowd of Yeti Part III

“That hurt! Why did you pinch me?!” Angela said as she rubbed her cheek.

“To teach a smart-mouthed kid a lesson to behave by not interrupting while the adults are speaking.”

“Who are you calling a kid, huh?!” She gestured to get up for a fight, and of course, the one who was different by height, but not by mental age did so as well. He could be even more childish by guarding up as he curled up a smirk with the bread in his mouth still!

“Why? You wanna fight, brat? But let me tell you something. Picking a fight with me means getting your cheeks smooched nonstop, you know that?”

“Y... You, that’s not fair!”

“Uh-ha! There’s no such thing as fair in this world.”

Then they both stared at each other flaringly. If this were a scene in a cartoon, there would be laser beams shooting from their eyes by now. And a moment later after getting in a ready position, these two kids launched themselves into a scuffle right away.

Angela took advantage of her smaller figure and charged Wisana who was already prepared for the attack. The kid stole a march by pinching her rival in the cheeks harshly as revenge. However, the taller one did not give up. He managed to tickle the little kid until she started laughing out loud and fell wriggling on the ground with him without caring about how other people would look.

This small battle got a laugh out of the guests in the coffee shop. Some of them even started cheering and complimenting them out of endearment for something like, “Aw, the siblings’ bickering, so cute.”

The longer they stayed together, the closer they became, so close that they could even tease each other like this without caring about other people’s eyes now.

And Waree just let out a sigh like she was tired of stopping these two kids from fighting now. The same with Shindanai who shook his head slightly out of being fed up, before they caught eyes.

“I feel tired for you somehow.” His deep gentle voice made the other one curl up a soft smile.

“I’m used to it. And soon you’ll be, too.”

“I guess so.” his well-formed lips spread up a little as he drank the coffee up for another gulp.

Surrounded by a cozy environment, two pairs of eyes were looking at the view in front of them calmly. There were many tall mountains covered in white snow, looking mellow, and a cool breeze that brought refreshment with it as it was blowing softly. Shindanai joined his fingers together, before leaning his back against the chair in a relaxing gesture.

“I haven’t been here for a while. I never thought that I would come here again with a party. And honestly, this isn’t bad at all.”

“Did we annoy you?” After Waree’s question, he shook his head slightly in reply.

“No. You guys help me a lot.” He finished, before looking in another direction. And if the young woman did not mistake it, she saw those lips of the man who always looked prudent were curling up in a smile, ...a smile that looked very warm and gentle.

The image brought a playful smile to her fair smooth face.

“Your smile is pretty. Why don’t you like smiling, Shin?” Hearing the question, the taller one paused, before hurriedly changing his expression back to normal. And within a second, he turned to look at her with the usual emotionless face again.

“It’s none of your business.” Shindanai cut her off sharply, before avoiding her eyes.

Even though those were cold words, his tone still sounded the most pleasant. It was tender and soft to her ears a lot.

“You’re funny. Why are you trying to act cold when that’s not how you actually are.”

“I said, none of your business.”

“You’re also very shy, too. That’s cute.”

The man did not say anything. He just kept looking at the view in front of him attentively. Finally, he pointed at a mountain that was about 10 kilometers away.

“You see that castle? That’s where Ouroboros lives. We have to walk for about 3 hours before we get there.” Seeing the other try to change the topic, Waree let out a laugh. But her green eyes agreed to follow his finger obediently.

At the top of the mountain, there was an ancient European castle located there like he said. But because she already knew that, she was not surprised by it that much.

What was a lot more interesting to her was how this man was shy. The more they talked, the more she was sure that the man was a very sweet person, especially with his awkwardness in talking and shyness.

It’s so adorable that I want to tease him so much!

“A man like you is really hard to find nowadays.” Waree started with a gentle face. “You’re all calm, mature, and a gentleman in one person. The only flaw is that you don’t like showing your sweet smile.”

“Can we stop talking about this?” Even though she did not see his face, she could still hear that his voice was flinching.

“You’re embarrassed again.” She said with an amused smile, making Shindanai sigh out of boredom. Finally, he chose to pick up the coffee mug to sip from, ending the conversation.

“Let’s be honest, do you have anyone you like yet?”

This time her question almost made the one who was good at hiding his feelings choke on his drink. But luckily, he could get himself together in time. The pair of violet eyes widened like he did not believe his ears as he looked up at the sweet face in front of him. She was already looking right into his eyes as if she was looking for the answer in them. And she was even giving him a cute soft smile, too.

“Your question’s not making any sense.”

“Aw, it’s totally making perfect sense. Can’t you see that I’m interested in you?” Shindanai was dumbfounded for a moment, blinking.

“You’re joking, right?” The voice that used to be steady was now shaking a bit.

Waree did not answer him right away. She just leaned her fair face closer until he was the one who drew back away. Even though he could still keep a straight face, his feelings inside were running wild. He could not take his eyes away because of the cuteness of the girl in front of him.

“Yes, I am joking.” She answered before she started laughing as she patted the taller one’s shoulder twice. “You got dumbfounded because of that, huh? How cute! But well, I was just kidding. Let’s say I got back at you for seeing me naked. This is the first time I saw you making a face like that as well. It’s also good to know that you’re still interested in girls, and not like one of those blunted people.”

“...”

This time, Shindanai really lost all his words. The man decided to turn away, avoiding this girl who was still laughing continuously. Her giggle and playful eyes reminded him of a bully angel somehow. But instead of getting annoyed by getting teased, it was weird for him, too, that he did not mind her at all. He had an opposite feeling about this, actually.

“I believe it now that you guys really are siblings,” Shindanai said with a weary voice.

“Aw, is this a compliment?” Waree asked, smiling so sweetly.

“It depends on how you’ll take it.”

“I’ll take it as a compliment, then.” She finished before turning in another direction to continue laughing. And that image of her strangely caused a feeling of comfort for him.
