Chapter 146: The Opened Door Part II
Chapter 146: The Opened Door Part II
“Hey, hey, hey, are you crazy, you sadist. If you throw that spell randomly, Nam might get hit, too!” The brother started to be concerned about his sister’s well-being somehow after he saw the remains of the disaster that this little kid caused, which was a huge bomb hole in the ground!
The snow that used to cover the battle below started melting away little by little. Waree and Shindanai were still fighting in the same spot, and they were not that far from the hole Angela just blew up. Wisana got even more afraid that this kid would not be able to control this extreme magic spell!
“It’s going to be okay. I know how to handle my magic.”
“Handle my hat. Didn’t you say that you missed it just now?!” The older one bawled.
“Don’t worry. The chance of missing is not more than 10 meters. I guarantee you.” Not waiting for the other one to speak more, Angela managed to swing her scepter, summoning a flame blazing up in front of a group of Yetis that were trying to get to Waree. And in a blink later, the flame started merging, before a loud explosion came.
Volcano Bomb!
BOOM!!
And dozens of those Yetis that were running down the hill were blown away. Wisana covered his mouth, feeling scared for them.
“If you have to support me in a fight sometime in the future, could you please not use this bomb spell?”
“Why? Are you scared?” She asked deadpan without even looking at him.
“Scare? No, Miss, I’m freaking terrified! If I get hit by the bomb, my guts wouldn’t spill out?”
“It’s okay. The worst case is just that you die.”
“Just die?!” Wisana repeated the cruel reply of this sadistic kid.
If his sister got hit by that little nuclear bomb... no matter how durable she was, her limbs would probably get torn in different directions for sure.
“Anyway, where’s that Yeti leader you were talking about?” Wisana asked.
“Shhh! Be quiet.” Angela scolded. Her ruby red eyes were slowly closing. The hand that was not holding the scepter was cupping around her ear like she was trying to hear something.
“What is it now?”
“Stop talking. This sounds like...” Her cute eyebrows started knitting together as she tried to think.
TOOT!
A moment later, there was a sound of something coming with a wind blow, resounding through the area. Wisana who started to hear it just now cupped his hand around his ear, too.
“That sounds familiar.” He spoke.
“No doubt. It’s a signal of war. The leader has blown the hornpipe to call out for more of its minions to join the battle.” The little mage widened her eyes, before searching around the hill quickly.
“Do you see anything?” Wisana asked.
“No, not at all.” She replied, before frowning her eyebrows. “I’m the one who has to ask. Isn’t your instinct many times way beyond other people’s levels? Your hearing sense is probably better than mine.”
“What are you talking about? I’m not some kind of a bat to have better ears than...”
TOOT!!
He did not finish his sentence yet when the sound of a horn came again, making the man pause. He was shocked not only by the fact that he could hear it clearly, but also that he could feel where the sound was coming from, too. Right now, his golden-brown eyes widened, surprised at himself.
“That can’t be!” He said before he started running. Wisana placed his hands above his eyes to shield them from the sun like he was trying to spot something exactly where it was. Angela raised her eyebrows a little at his actions.
“You found it, Mister Wisana?” She asked.
“Shhh! Be quiet. I need to focus.” This time the troublemaker replied with a serious voice, while he was gazing at the top of a mountain that was in the opposite direction of where they were going. It was a quiet valley, and it could be said that it was desolate.
“Are you serious? What kind of mutant I have become now?” He said to himself, then he turned to look at Angela.
“Found it, Angie. It’s right there. That’s the leader, right?”
“Where?” The little mage asked helplessly. Her face followed where he was pointing, but all she saw was just another isolated snowy mountain with some rocks scattered in the area.
“I don’t see anything.” She said with a nagging voice and even turned to stare at him with an insulting look. But instead of getting mad, Wisana pointed harder with a serious face to make Angela turn back and look again.
“It’s really there. Look carefully at that big rock. There’s a monster hiding there.”
“What?” This time, the little kid frowned harder. Her eyes followed where he was pointing again with a more intense gaze. However, Angela still could not see anything. Maybe because the mountain was too far away. Even though she had binoculars right now, it was still hard to see what was up there.
“Eh!” A second later, the little girl exclaimed softly.
The pair of ruby eyes stared at the other one out of shock. Because there was it. In that valley, there was a huge, brown-furred monster with a large horn on its forehead, the Grand Yeti!
The monster was hiding behind a rock its size to command its minions to attack Waree and Shindanai in a safe spot. In its hand, there was a hornpipe that it used to call out for the other Yetis to join the fight when the army started losing.
And the man found the source of the sound in the blink of an eye by just hearing. ...At first, she was just being sarcastic about it, but he could literally do it!?
Thinking about this, the kid nervously gulped down her saliva.
This man’s abilities are bursting out uncontrollably now, huh?
“What are you looking at? Hurry up and tell Nam where the enemy is.” Wisana shouted to get her consciousness back again. Angela turned and gave him goggling eyes, but still opened the party communication window as she was told obediently.
“Waree, we found the Grand Yeti.”
“Really? Where is it?” The voice from the other end of the call sounded a little exhausted. And the little girl answered her by pointing her scepter to the spot where the Grand Yeti was hiding.
BOOM!!!
A second later, the spot exploded up into a large circle. In that surprise attack, the Grand Yeti was blown away from the hiding place for Angela to let out a hard sigh.
“You see it now?” She snorted, sounding so proud of herself.
“Yes, clearly. Thanks. Are you mad about something though?”
“I’m not. Just hurry up and finish it, so we can move on.”
“Okay, got it,” Waree said with laughter, knowing full well what her different-aged friend was being mad about to make that kind of tone.
After that, Shindanai and she started clearing their way to attack the boss right away. Even though the Grand Yeti was still dizzy from Angela’s mad bomb attack, as soon as it saw the enemy sprinting right at it, the huge monster let out a resounding growl, bringing the Yeti minions into a position to attack back right away.
“What’s next? Should we go help them down there?” Wisana asked enthusiastically. It was obvious that he wanted to join the fight desperately. Angela let out a long sigh, while she was putting her scepter back in the inventory window before she joined her hands behind her head and walked away carefreely.
“Our job here is done. We’ll leave the rest for those two to finish the Grand Yeti.”
“You’re saying that we’re just going to wait here and do nothing?” His tone sounded a bit dissatisfied.
“Well, that was all I had to do, and I did. What else do you want?” She cut him off, before finding a seat at the coffee shop to watch the buddies fighting the army enjoyingly.
“Then I’ll go.”
“You’ll just be in their way. It’s better to stay here.” She nagged again when there was a chance to do so. Wisana could only make an irritated face but could not argue with her.
Yeah...fine, he got to admit that he was a burden...
Compared to the monstrously skilled people like those two over there!
“Damn, this is not fun.”
