Chapter 136: Urgent Party Part I

Chapter 136: Urgent Party Part I

“Well, I apologize for misunderstanding you completely. But seeing their sister in that condition, anyone would think like I did, too. I’m sorry. Just think that you got bitten in the cheek by a little bug, and let’s get over this, Shin.” The lively voice spoke as the brother slapped his shoulder, without even caring if he was in the mood to listen or not.

In fact, they were not even that close to tease each other this harshly.

“Na, you’re not in the place where you can speak to him like you’re his best friend.”

“Come on, Nam. It’s okay. Men always speak to each other brotherly like this, right?” After finishing, the man sent him a grin, before he walked into his tent, leaving the newcomer sitting on a log by the fire with a confused face.

For Shindanai who did not experience this kind of situation often, everything that had happened a while ago got him confused quite a lot. Earlier, he got punched in the face so harshly that he could see stars flying around his head. And he got accused of being a pervert who assaulted someone else’s sister as well.

And before he could explain everything, he got dragged to this small campfire, while his head was still dizzy.

He did not mind getting treated like they were friends that much.

But why did he have to waste his time chilling by some campfire like this?!

“I’m sorry. My brother’s a bit cracked.” Waree said with an embarrassed smile as she handed him a big glazed ceramic cup with a handle.

“It’s okay. I’m used to this. My sister’s like this often, too.” The man replied politely, completely sounding different from a few hours ago. But instead of finding it sounded strange to her ears, Waree felt honored somehow. So, the woman smiled as she continued the conversation.

“Is that so? Then, you probably get a lot of headaches.”

“What do you think?”

“You totally get a lot of headaches.”

“That’s right.”

And they both sighed at the same time.

“What are you two talking about?” The voice owner was the same messy-haired man who got in the tent a moment ago. He had returned outside with a white long-sleeved shirt on his top to keep him warm from the chilly night that was significantly getting colder.

“Nothing.” They answered in unison.

After Shindanai got the cup from the girl in front of him, he saw that it was filled with nice, red-colored warm tea and steam of good scent floating out of it.

“Herb tea? You have an item combining skill, too?” Waree smiled at the question with a friendly look.

“I do. It’s not my class skill though. I bought it. Seeing you just recovered from the deadly fire curse, I think maybe you still have some muscle sores. So, I mixed some red herb with a water potion, boiled it, and it became the red herb tea as you can see.”

“Um...” He drawled in acknowledgment, before taking a sip of the tea. “...Delicious.”

“Of course.” She said with a wink.

“You’re truly an expert on healing. Waree. I guess your level is... more than 130, am I right?”

“You’re good at guessing. I’m level 145 and already achieved the third class, but you already know that.”

“You play as a supportive tanker ...you’re the guardian of the light, aren’t you?” Hearing that, Waree smiled even wider.

“You guessed it right again. You’re omniscient, very impressive.”

“It’s nothing,” Shindanai said plainly like he did not care about the compliment. He took another big gulp of tea in a calm manner, the way that made Waree curl up an amused knowing smile.

This guy was probably a young master from some noble family since he liked acting cool and pretentious like this.

“What about your level?”

“Mine?” The man looked up to catch the eye of the one sitting across from him for a second. And when he was about to answer, the woman interrupted.

“Let me guess, your level is around 130 and your class is crusader, right?” The listener did not say anything. He just gave her a soft laugh, before continuing to enjoy his tea. It was like he was expecting that Waree would estimate his ability right.

“My guess is right, isn’t it?” The woman said with a clear voice as she sat down next to him intimately. It was kind of surprising that Shindanai did not mind this at all. He even shrugged in response to her question chillingly, too.

“What were you doing around here this late at night anyway? You went there just to dispel that Chimera’s curse?”

“I went to...”

A-hem!!

He did not finish his sentence, because the one who had been quiet the whole time purposely coughed loudly, interrupting the two who were enjoying the conversation. They glanced at the cause at the same time.

“The chitchat looks fun, you two. But you forgot about this big brother here?” Waree raised her eyebrows at the question, but she still smiled at her brother normally.

“No, it’s not like that, Na.”

“Let me join you, too,” Wisana said with a suspicious sweet smile before the tall man bluntly walked to sit between the two just like that, while his face was still painted with the smile.

His action surprised Waree a lot, but she moved to make room for the third person obediently. And Shindanai who understood the possessive brother well, let out a long sigh before he drank all the herb teacup in one gulp.

“I thought you had already gone further, Shin, because you left the hunter office before us for a long time,” Wisana said, making Waree raise her eyebrows out of curiosity.

“You knew Shin before?”

“Not really.” The older one replied smilingly. “I just saw him pulling out Ouroboros hunting order when we were registering for the association’s membership. Back there, we just caught eyes for a second, so it can’t be said that we knew each other, right?” The question made the other tall man next to him just nod lazily in response.

“Woah, is it true? If you did, it means you reserve that boss all to yourself! Wicked!”

“Not only that, but I also heard he was quite famous, too. He’s currently the hunter with the highest hunting points, and is the one expected to with the hunting gate this year”

“Wow, a celebrity.” Waree grinned broadly.

Shindanai did not say anything in reply. He just looked away, like he was already used to getting these compliments. And that indifferent manner made Wisana frown his mouth out of displeasure, before placing a hand on the other’s shoulder softly.

“Anyway, why are you still around here, again?” The pair of violet eyes glanced at the questioner with a strange look for a second. Then he bent away, rejecting the overly cordial acts of the other man politely.

“It wasn’t my intention to be here. I just ran into the Chimera, then I made a slip and got its venom. So, I went to the hot spring to dispel it.”

“So, now you’re on the way to the north to hunt Ouroboros, aren’t you?” Waree asked excitedly. And the man nodded slightly in agreement.

“That’s awesome! We’re going north for the Ouroboros as well.” Her delighted voice made Shin pause right away. A trace of surprise was flashing in the beautiful amethyst eyes as they were looking between the siblings with consideration for the first time.

“Just two of you?” He retorted with a high-pitched voice.

“No. We also have a mage brat who is now sleeping in there.” Wisana replied, pointing his chin to another tent nearby. Shindanai let out a sigh at that.

“I have to warn you about something.” He said with a plain tone. “Just a tanker, a mage, and a swordsman are not going to stand a chance against Ouroboros. I think you should change your plan and go farm somewhere else. Don’t stupidly risk it like this.”

“Huh?” The one who just got looked down on gasped, while Waree turned away to hold her laugh.

“That’s what I told him as well, but he still insisted on going there, so...”

“Hey! Nam, why did you turn against me, too?” The brother bawled loudly. “How is it stupid, Mister Shin? It’s just me wanting to challenge the boss, there’s nothing against any rule, right? You don’t have the right to criticize me, especially when you’re thinking about beating it alone, and I have two more party mates than you do.”

Shindanai stared at the other man motionlessly. The fierce spark in his eyes looked like he was dissuading the overconfident one unconsciously, but Wisana did not avoid his eyes at all. The determination that was radiating from Wisana made him give up finally.

“It’s not going to be like Lord Inferno, Wisana.”
