Chapter 127: The 7 Curses Part I
Chapter 127: The 7 Curses Part I
In the middle of a clearing that had only verdant green grass, looking endless in every direction. A cold winter breeze was blowing, making a whistling sound when it touched the tip of the grass and made them move like dancing.
However, instead of enjoying the beautiful scene in front of them, the three travelers just kept busy with their own business. Especially the only man in the party who was immersed in reading something on the transparent screen with his eyebrows knitted together.
“How’s it going, Na? Have you understood how the hunter system works yet?” Waree asked delightfully, making the other one look at her.
“I’ll just say, yeah, I kind of did,” Wisana replied as he scratched his cheek.
That was what he said, while in fact, he still had many questions about many things.
After he had been concentrating on reading for hours, the immense amount of information started getting all messy in his head now. Wisana was having a headache from trying to process the news about the guild, which was quite a lot, including their huge connection that grew all over the Pride world, too.
He just found out that more than 90% of the players were members of this guild because they wanted the privileges that the guild offered. The first thing was the monster’s information, in case a player wanted to hunt a monster for the collecting point, the guild would provide the information about that monster, detailing the weaknesses and strong points thoroughly, which were very useful for the player.
Apart from this, the guild would double the EXP for the hunters, too. Even though they had to lose their dropping items in return for that, it was still worth it.
“What about this ID, Nam?” Wisana spoke up when he was reminded of his hunter ID card. His large hand pulled out a metal plate the size of a business card with his picture on it. The card also had his name and his hunting rank written on it, saying “D Rank”.
“That’s your hunter ID,” Waree replied smilingly.
“What’s it for?”
“Well, you can show it to the other association to get some privileges. Some big towns also have privileges for high-ranked hunters, too. Like in Pomona, there’re more quests for them than normal players. Or like in Tristan, S ranked hunters can use the card to check in a room, or ask for some special services in the city, something like that.”
“So, just say it’s like a VIP card.” The man said as he looked at the card in his hand surprisedly.
“However, these privileges are booked for A ranked hunters and higher. So, I think that you might have to wait a very long time before you can use them.”
“Angie!” Waree turned to scold her little friend again with a weary face. But the tall man did not talk back like he was expected to, maybe had been used to getting nagged by now. So, his response was to turn his face away, making the little girl provoked by it so much.
“What do we do next? We’ve been walking for a long time, and haven’t seen anything for us to hunt, yet. I’m getting tired now, and those birds are also out of energy. How can’t they be able to walk, yet? They’ve been resting for hours.” Wisana kept muttering complaints like usual, getting a dry laugh from the one next to him.
“Maybe it’s because they’re old. That’s why it takes longer for them to rest.” Waree explained. “But don’t worry, Na. The monster camp is right here in front of us.”
Just like she said. There were many kinds of monsters walking around down the slope in front of them, including those big light brown dog-looking monsters, something that looked like a dinosaur, and many other strange-looking creatures.
And importantly, Wisana’s party was not alone. There were other players fighting those monsters, too. Wisana curled up a satisfied smirk at the scene.
“Are these what we’re going to hunt? What levels are they?” He asked excitedly, while he was looking at the monsters down there that seemed to be about 6 kinds of them.
“Their levels are about 40-55. I think you can fight them just fine.”
“That’s great.” That was all he said before the overexcited one did not hesitate to run down to the camp of monsters, amusing the girls who watched him from behind.
“Your brother is being too excited. Does he think that we’re at the zoo?” Angela nagged at him when there was a chance.
“Just let him be. He doesn’t find the monster at his level so often. We’ve only found the dangerous one since we started the trip. And when he finds those he can fight, he can’t wait to exercise his skills.”
“He’s like a kid.” The little kid completed the sentence, making her friend let out a laugh.
“You’re too much like an adult, too.” Waree teased jokingly, making the other one start to have a red tint on the cheeks.
“I... I’ll go hunting, too. Even though these monsters will not help my EXP stat upgrade that much, I still get some hunting points.”
“Um...”
----------------
“Wow, wow, wow, this is awesome. There’re so many of them. Which one should I hit first?” Right now, the one who was said to be a kid behind his back, was in a stage of being very excited that his eyes started sparkling so dazzlingly. After he had already gotten himself into the monsters’ camp, his rusty eyes were looking around with arousal.
“Which one should I get first, Jinnie?” When he could not decide, the troublemaker chose to ask his AI girl instead.
“The monsters here are all on the level that you can fight. None of them is too difficult or dangerous.”
“Yeah, I know. But which one do you think I should start with?”
He said while rubbing his hands together. And then, Wisana saw a monster. It looked like a big baboon with two meters tall lumbering around a corner, so he decided right away.
“That one, Jinnie, what is it? What’s the element?”
“Please wait a moment... the monster is called Litiem. It’s a level 42 air element monster. If you are going to attack it, earth element magic is the most effective on the monster. But in your case that doesn’t have any earth attack skills, I suggest it’s best to use the fist destruction.”
“Oh, excellent.” Wisana smiled widely. “I knew it. Even though I didn’t sign up for the hunter guild (or also known as the association of hunters), I can still count on my Jinnie anyway.”
“Thank you for the compliment.” Jinnie accepted delightedly. She seemed to be happy about getting called ‘my Jinnie’ a lot.
Not wasting any more time, the man rolled up his sleeves in getting ready to fight, before he charged the Litiem at a very fast speed. And when he was in the range, he jump kicked it with full strength, making it scream out.
SCREECH!
“Woah, I already kicked it with full strength, and it only makes this little damage?” He made a sour face, feeling a bit disappointed.
BOOM!
Instantly, this Litiem turned and smashed on the spot where he was standing a second ago with full force. Its clumsiness kind of reminded him about when a monkey waved off a fly somehow. So, the one with high-speed movement could dodge its attack easily.
A grin appeared on his lips. When he compared this to the previous enemies he had countered, this one’s speed was not different from a slow-motion picture at all!
In the blink of an eye, Wisana had already summoned flames on his palms, before he placed them on the Litiem’s skin, without waiting for it to finish the attack.
Fist destruction!
69,204!
GREEZ!
This attack was more violent than the first one, like night and day and even the attacker was surprised by it, too. That one attack was already enough to send the Litiem lying still on the ground.
“Player Wisana has successfully killed a Litiem, and earned 16,000 EXP.”
“Player Wisana has upgraded fist destruction skill to Level 2 from successfully killing an enemy with one hit.”
It did not take long before the announcement from Jinnie came up, making him raise his eyebrows before he bent down to look at the giant baboon.
“There’s really no items dropped.” He said as he looked at his hand with a little smile. “Well, I’m kind of good at this, too. One hit, one kill, huh.”
