Chapter 126 - 7 Stars Sword Part IV
Chapter 126 - 7 Stars Sword Part IV
No, no!!
Maysa stopped there before she shook these nonsense thoughts out of her head. Then she pinched her cheek as she was trying to get herself together again.
“No way! What am I thinking?!”
“You’re thinking what?” A soft voice came from behind, making the one who was making something up in her head jump. The gunner looked back to see a black-haired girl, the owner of the pair of light-colored big eyes that were staring at her with a curious look.
“Oh, um... I was just thinking about nonsense. Don’t mind me. Haha.” Maysa laughed to cover it up.
“Is that so?” Warunya drawled like she did not quite believe it.
“So, how’s it going? Could you contact Vincent with the address I gave you, yet?”
“No, I couldn’t.” The other one shook her head slightly. “I tried to walk around, just in case there was a spot with a good signal, but I still couldn’t reach Vincent.”
"Well, it’s because there’s that tall tower in the town, so the communication’s not good, just like you can see.” She cut her off as she looked over her interlocutor’s shoulder.
“Where’re Tunwa and Nuchjaree?” The black-haired woman’s face twitched for a second before her lips curled up a dry smile at Maysa.
“Well, those two are...”
----------------
“Hey, Tun! Look over here. They have score warp to Riara for sale!” The first one shouted out of excitement.
“For real?! I’ve always wanted to go there, but it’s very far away. Where is it?” And the second one replied instantly before the owner of a tall figure skipped his feet joyfully to join her.
If there was an audience watching them from afar, they would just see a couple of a man and a woman running around the shopping quarter in front of the airport overexcitedly. But someone who knew these two would totally frown out of curiosity when they saw the friends who fought every five seconds now were getting along very well when it came to checking out these shops and stalls.
“Nuch, look! The Guillimer sword that I’ve been looking for for so long.”
“Lit! It’s very cheap, too, just twenty thousand coins. Tun, here, the Wind Chester bow that I’ve wanted to have. Look at the price... only sixty thousand, oh my god. Sister, can you give me some discount, please?”
Moments that were similar to this had gone round in a circle for the third time, but the buddies were still so hyped up, making the ones who were watching them from a distance make a sour face.
“Are they normally like this, Orn?” Maysa asked as she scratched her cheek.
“Yes, they are. You’ll get used to them being overexcited about a simple thing in a while.” The owner of the pair of grey eyes watched Nuchjaree and Tunwa checking various items out before she sighed.
Getting excited easily like a kid... The words came across her mind before they were processed, and then she saw those two overlapping with an image of someone.
(Chuckle!)
“What’s funny, May?”
“Nothing. It’s just that their weird habit reminds me of someone.”
The woman replied smilingly. And the other raised her eyebrows out of confusion, but then she let it go because there was something more important to talk about right now.
“So, what should we do next, May?”
“Don’t worry. I don’t think Vincent is that hard to find. Let’s start at that tower, shall we?” she said, nodding her chin to the 420-floor tower ahead of her.
“We shall?”
“Definitely.” After she finished, she turned to smile delightedly at her, making Warunya blink like she could not catch up with the other’s mood, yet. Maysa today looked completely different from yesterday. She seemed to be calm and prudent like usual, but her young face was showing more liveliness, making her look... remarkably pretty.
“Warunya, hurry up. Your friends are leaving us now.”
“Uh... okay.” She stopped with nonsense thoughts right away before she started running after Maysa out of the shopping quarter quickly.
The four party members were getting out of the market at a very low speed because they had to stop often along the way when Tunwa and Nuchjaree stopped by almost every shop they saw. That made Maysa think that these two probably got locked down in Ban Sai Thong and did not see sunlight for years or something for sure.
How could someone be interested in every single shop like this?!
“The items here are very cheap, right Tun?” The girl talked to her guy friend who had just now thrown the latest item he bought in the inventory.
“Not only are they cheap, but some of them can’t be found in other markets, too. We’re so right about coming to Dores.” The golden-brown-haired man spoke without being sarcastic like his usual self.
Then they both turned to smile at each other and were about to go ahead to the next accessory shop on the other side. At the same time, Warunya’s last straw snapped! She did grab her friends by their collars in time before they could go any further.
“I think that you should stop now, lady and gentleman.” The cold voice scolded the two strictly.
“Why?” The duo asked in unison, making the listener roll her eyes.
“I just think that we shouldn’t waste our time here for too long. Well, at least it’s Maysa’s time, too. Let’s shop again later, just the three of us.” Her words made Tunwa pause. Then he glanced at Nuchjaree for a moment, before giving the gunner from behind Warunya, a wry smile.
“Sorry, May. I’m just like this. Apart from these girls forcing me to be the enemy’s counter in the game, my best friend’s always too busy to find the time to shop and hang out with me in the real world, too.”
Right, getting forced to do hard work and getting locked down(?) in the house, he was totally Pojaman in Ban Sai Thong.
“It’s alright. I’m kind of used to this. One of my friends is like this, too.” Maysa replied with an amused smile.
“Well, you’re speaking like you were Na’s boyfriend. It can’t be helped that he has things to do. You have to take him everywhere you go, or what?”
“You want to pick a fight, Nuch?!” Tunwa snapped. “We’re best buddies. Going anywhere together is what best buddies do. We’re nothing like you said, silly.”
“Oh, yeah?”
“Yeah!” After three seconds away from shopping, both started to fight again. Not sure if they loved or hated each other, but the one thing that could be sure of was that they were very close.
“Master, pleaseeee, wait for Lala a bit. I’m carrying a lot of your stuff like this, how can you decide to leave me behind so instantly!!” The incoming shout that came across Maysa’s ears sounded so familiar that it made her jump. What were this slow, treble voice and creepy aura that gave her goosebumps?
“Stop complaining, Lala. The few things you’re carrying are not that heavy.”
“Master, did you just call this number of packages ‘few’?”
Another two voices followed in quick succession. The last one sounded so hoarse that it almost did not sound like that of a human, unlike the previous one that sounded kind and gentle, but it made the one who was hearing it from afar start dripping sweat slightly.
“No, it can’t be.” The gunner said, praying in her mind that it was not what she thought it was.
The big round grey eyes glanced over her shoulder as she gulped down her saliva with an extreme thrill.
And the image that was reflected in her eyes made her gasp. Many packages were tied together, piling up on a big backpack. And if someone was to measure the height, it would not be less than five meters for sure. So, it was not surprising if it drew a lot of attention from the surrounding people.
Going around town like a complete weirdo... this is more likely to be them...
“What’s wrong, May?” Warunya asked with a concerned look on her face.
“Uh... well...” The woman got speechless. Her consciousness that used to function seemed to be gone a minute ago.
“Let’s get out of here.” After getting quiet for a full minute, Maysa turned to speak with the black-haired girl with a serious face.
“What’s going on?” She kept asking out of confusion.
“Don’t ask right now, or I’ll get in trouble.”
“Trouble...?”
“Stop talking. Hurry up!” She did not just say it this time, but she also pulled the other’s arm to follow her right away.
That was right... she was sure now with the strange voices, the act of a weirdo, and how they carried the pile of packages that was higher above their head, even when they got the inventory slots to keep those items.
It can’t be anyone else, except for those freaks from the haunted office!!
The thought came across her brain, making her thin figure shiver. Even just the thought of them could creep her out like this, so it was best to just run now. The last time she met them, she was in a five-year-old body... so, she hoped that they would not recognize her right now.
She really hoped so...
“Hey, isn’t that little May?!” The low, ear-pleasing voice spoke up, making Maysa pause and stand still like she just caught eyes with Medusa!
She tried to turn and look, strugglingly like a wind-up doll that lacked the lubricating oil.
“E... er, yes?”
He freaking recognized me!!!
“H... hello, Mister Sander. What a coincidence.”
