Chapter 117: A help from GM Part IV
Chapter 117: A help from GM Part IV
“Anne?” Waree said when the other one went silent for a moment.
“Just be careful.” Rattana brushed her off again, while she was picking a small card out of her skirt pocket. She placed it in Waree’s hand, showing her that it was a business card with the GM logo on it.
“If something unexpected happens, don’t hesitate to contact me right away.”
“Unexpected?” Waree repeated, sounding surprised.
“Don’t try to fight on your own. Promise me that you will contact me if you run into trouble.” The woman said as she grabbed Waree’s shoulder tightly, getting the pair of green eyes to catch with hers steadily. And when she saw the seriousness in the older one’s eyes, Waree just nodded in agreement helplessly.
“I have to go. Hope we see each other again soon.”
“Okay, see you, Anne.” In a blink, the black-haired woman was disappearing from the spot quickly, leaving only the suspicion in Waree’s mind. She looked at the card in her hand again, before she shrugged and walked back to the limousine that was waiting for her.
“Let’s go, mister chauffeur.” The clear voice gave an order to the driver that looked like a silver robot sitting in the driver’s seat. The little robot turned to make a mechanical notice in acknowledgment.
And the shiny black car started moving again, as well as the dark green forest view outside the window. The tangerine light of the sunset made Waree check on the time on a digital watch.
“It’s almost morning time now. I think we should go offline here.” Her words got Wisana who was quiet for a long while to look at her.
“What about this car?”
“Oh, don’t worry. It’ll just be just like how we go offline while we’re in the airship. So, when we’re online again, we’ll already be in Dores.” He nodded along with her with a lifeless face. And the two girls just caught eyes with each other, not sure what was wrong with him.
“Uh... Angie, I think you should go offline and meet again tomorrow.” Angela nodded in agreement.
“What time are you going to be online tomorrow? I have to manage my schedule.”
“Maybe around 8 p.m., Thai time zone.”
“Got it. I’ll see you later.” She finished before the tiny body of Angela started to disappear from the man and the woman’s sight. Wisana turned to catch eyes with his sister as he was laughing drily at her.
“You’re not leaving, Na?”
“In a while. Well... I still have something to do.”
“Is that so?” Waree drawled in reply. “Then, I’ll go ahead.”
“Okay.” And then she disappeared, too, leaving the man alone with the robot chauffeur. The golden-brown eyes looked at the view outside the window, while he was thinking about Rattana’s words.
She was right... he was still too weak right now. In fact, he was the weakest one, compared to the others in the guild, regardless of the guild leader position.
No... at the moment, he did not deserve to be called a guild leader, yet.
“Jinnie.”
“Yes, master.”
“Can you contact a player for me?”
----------------
The view of a green field turned into an isolated endless desert.
This was Aeneas, an outback town that was full of many difficult dungeons that were not so popular. Because each one of them was almost impossible, but the reward was just pure salt. This was the reason why this place was not visited by the players often.
Even so, this town was still a location for the magic warrior class office. This was one of the most famous classes, but it was such a shame that it was not popular among the players.
Also, it could be because of the shabby-looking condition of the office building that had been quiet for years. Apart from this, it created a strange gloomy atmosphere around the area that someone even said, ‘don’t walk past there, if it’s not necessary. Because it’s haunted!’”
That might be accurate because the said ghost was sitting at the counter with her hand propping up and a face that looked extremely bored, making her, who was not so attractive, get even creepier.
“Sigh...”
She had a bony face and curly long hair. Her eye sockets were darkened like she had not slept for years. The girl who had an alias as ‘moving like haunted’ let out a sigh of boredom, before she fell face down on the counter with a loud ‘THUD’ noise.
“What’s wrong, Miss Lala?” Leonard, the pet NPC of the magic warrior office that was dusting, asked with his remarkably low voice.
“Isn’t it obvious? I’m booooored.”
“But making that grudgingly face while the master is here, you could get in trouble, you know?” The word master made Lala flinch so hard. But she still pretended to be unbothered as she was checking her black nails to kill the boredom.
“He’s not going to see it. Master’s sleeping in the room.”
“Hehe.” Leonard just laughed nervously at that.
“Also, there’s no point for me to be productive. No one’s going to apply for our class for a long time... no, maybe no one even will anymore.”
“Is that so?”
“It is. An office with a mean boss like this, if it was me, I’d never waste my time applying here. Since there’re many more interesting classes out there.”
“Oho, is it really that so?”
“Yes, but why do you keep repeating the same thing, Leonard?” The ghost girl said as she was sending her fierce eyes to Leonard that was standing in front of her before she raised an eyebrow.
What... I think I heard him from behind me, didn’t I?
The thought got her goosebumps after she could process who was the owner of the voice just now!
“KYAAAAAA!!! Master!”
“You’re like this again. This is not nice, Lala.” The man shook his head like he was tired of his staff. He held up a hand to rub on his sparse beard, before using another hand to grab Lala’s collar quickly.
“How many times do I have to tell you to not speak like that? It doesn’t sound pleasant to my ears somehow. For that, I have to punish you every time.”
“Noooooo. Please, Master. Don’t punish Lala. I’m sorry. I made a mistake!!” The ghost girl screamed out with terror like she knew what was going to happen to her next. But Sander did not care. He was just dragging the skinny one along the hallway before his eyes caught with Leonard that was watching them by the door.
“Leonard, pack my necessary stuff for a trip for me.”
“A trip?” Leonard repeated confusedly. “Where are you going, master?”
The man just smiled sweetly at his pet, without letting go of Lala’s arm.
“I have urgent business in Dores. Pack yours and Lala’s too. You all are coming with me.”
“Us, too?” Leonard raised his voice with surprise, and Sander just nodded and dragged the one in his hand disappearing into a room around there.
“Noooooo. Master, please forgive me. Sorry I was foul-mouthed. ...No, doooooont!”
BANG!
The heavy wooden door was shut close a second later with Lala’s voice dying out. Leonard gave up the office cleaning, before glancing after its master behind the door with a concerned look.
KYAAAAAA!!!
“Rest in peace, Miss Lala.”
