Chapter 108: Instinct Awakening Part I

“Angie!!” A shout came at the same time as Angela was blown up against a tree so harshly that the blood was coughed out of her mouth.

GROWL!!!

The monster let out a resounding growl. Its two-meter figure was sprinting toward Wisana’s party at full speed, leaving them no time to get ready. The half-human beast’s appearance frightened everyone to stop and stare at it with their panicked eyes. No one could see clearly what it actually was. But one thing to be sure of was that... it was the biggest threat that made Wisana fully alert!

“What the hell is that?!” Wisana bawled loudly.

“It’s the king of Lycan, Na. A boss!” Waree answered right away. Her green eyes looked at her best friend with concern.

“Damn it. Just finished with those, and now starting with this. It never ends.” He complained, sounding so fed up with it. “What do we do now, Nam? Fight, or flee? But Angie’s probably dead though. Shouldn’t we run back to wait for her at the safe spot outside the forest?”

“No!” She snapped. “Angie’s not dead!”

“What?” Wisana turned to look as she said. And she was right. Angela was not dead, yet. She just could not move.

“She’s definitely got paralyzed debuff!”

“With just that one attack?!” The man cursed aloud. He glanced at the king of Lycan that seemed to not want them to be able to get ahold of themselves. The massive monster charged at the little prey in front of it at a surprising speed.

“Crap! It’s going to kill Angie!” Waree shouted.

“Damn it!” Seeing his party mate was in danger, Wisana jumped in between them before his brain even approved of his action.

The tall man interrupted the enemy’s attack quickly. When they caught eyes, the king of Lycan knew from instinct that the man in front of it here was truly dangerous. But the bloodthirst in its nature did not make it slow its feet down. Instead, it slapped a hand at the target with full strength, making the whole ground shake.

WHOOSH!!

And of course, the one who had speed as a weapon could evade the attack right in time. The pair of amber eyes glanced at the enemy for half a second, before he decided to strike back in its throat!

“Be under my command, flame spear.”

It was true that the boss of Lycan got hit and bounced backward, but the damage number that popped up was startlingly small. And that made Wisana realize that this opponent was not like any ordinary monsters.

The thought made his body tense up. He sent side eyes to Waree, as in telling her to do something before they all got doomed. At that moment, the pair of yellow eyes widened up again. The massive beast started pushing itself up. It stretched the neck left and right a couple of times, then its eyes flared up with rage.

“The latest attack has made the king of Lycan change its target to player Wisana. I suggest you run because the levels are too different.”

“Hearing that makes me wanna cry so much. Holy shoot!” The troublemaker bawled out aloud, while he was retreating to Angela. “You’re good, Angie?”

“No. I can’t move.” The little girl answered, blinking on the ground.

“Master, the enemy’s coming in from behind you. Please, be prepared for the attack.” The computer girl warned, getting a displeased noise out of the throat of her master. The tall man bent down, following his instinct. And that made the sharp claws of the werewolf boss miss their target and cut the big tree behind him in half instead!

“Crap, if that was me, my other half would have spun out of the forest for sure.”

“T... this is not the time to talk nonsense.” Angela judged with an emotionless face, even though she was still lying there, not being able to move a muscle.

“Yeah, I know that.” Wisana decided to counter the king of Lycan upright, and the werewolf monster did not hesitate to throw its claws at him again. Luckily, the man was quick enough to dodge the attack.

His sharp face tensed up instantly, lips pressing together tightly. Right now, his senses were active at the same time. His perceiving system in his brain was fully alert, giving him the ability to see the enemy’s movements clearly like a slow-motion picture.

If these were all the attack skills that the king of the Lycan had, he might have a chance to win!!

“Try me, doggo!” After he finished, his hands were placed on the chest of the enemy quickly.

BOOM!!

The werewolf boss was pushed back harshly, at the same time as the pair of golden-brown eyes narrowed down with determination.

“The first technique, Fist Destruction!” The tall man leaped up, following the monster instantly. “Be under my command, Wind Spear.” Finishing casting the spell, Wisana disappeared from the spot he was standing, before appearing again right in front of the king of Lycan that was bouncing toward him.

“The second technique... w... what?!”

BOOM!!!

But everything did not go as he planned. At that second, the man needed to unavoidably dodge away, or he would have been lying, counting stars on the ground by now!

“Getting tossed in the air like that, and you could still manage to hit back at me?!” He could not even hide the shock in his voice.

Just now, Wisana was about to use the technique that would push the werewolf boss up to the sky, before he could use his mid-air final combo that was his strongest attack. However, the king of Lycan somehow turned around to attack him, while it was still floating above the ground. And the impact of it was so strong that it destroyed the lines of trees in the forest to pieces!

GROWL!!!

The resounding growl came again, while Wisana was clenching his jaws.

Well, if it was going to be about speed testing, he was quite confident about it, too.

“Well, try me once more!” he said, holding up his firing hands, getting ready to attack. The king of Lycan looked like he was accepting his challenge. The thirst in its veins made it launch itself at Wisana unhesitatingly!

A second before the impact, it was like the surroundings were slowed down. The rust-colored eyes looked around for the enemy. And when his sight reflected the image of the werewolf boss moving its shoulder, his body bent down, making the sharp claws miss his head just by inches away.

Wisana did not stall. He was getting ready to use the fist destruction again, but the king of Lycan stopped him by grabbing his hands. His pair of round eyes widened with surprise.

“Hey!” The man was cast away with full force. He was floating above the big branches in the area uncontrollably.

“That was a lot of strength.” The losing one muttered a complaint before flipping his body and using his feet to balance himself on a branch. Then he kicked himself forward with full force, aiming to get back at the damn dog for another time. However...

“Since when have you followed me up here?!” It became another time that he read the monster’s move wrong instead. The werewolf boss launched up, following him like it knew that a crazy player like Wisana would totally find a way to get back at it. So, it was waiting for this moment when he was floating in the air to get him dead in one attack as well.

It’s underestimating me too much. My body’s flexibility has never been second to anyone, you know?!

GRAB!

And Wisana did something incredible again. He was waiting for the moment when the king of Lycan’s claws approached him, then he evaded to the side and grabbed that arm to pull himself closer to the enemy successfully!

“Got you.” The cold voice was sounded. “The second technique, Fist Break!”

BOOM!!

Finally, Wisana could blow the Lycan away. And he used this space to roll himself on the ground, being on his feet again. Then he leaped up and he was floating above the monster in just the blink of an eye.

“Goodbye, doggo. Pierce Ch... oh, come on!!!”

But the king of Lycan could do something unexpectedly just as much. At the moment they were in the air, the werewolf monster grabbed Wisana’s arm before casting the smaller figure down so harshly that the one who was unintentionally falling to the earth shrilly screamed out!
