Chapter 107: Countering The King of Lycan Part II
Chapter 107: Countering The King of Lycan Part II
“Is that so? But I got nineteen.” His answer made the little girl stunned. She glanced at the speaker who just replied to her with a wry smile. Angela could not help but feel amazed by the senses of the man in front of her. Even though he was in the dark, he was still capable of using it so sharply.
“Do you know what they are?” She probed.
“No, I don’t know much about the monsters in the game, but they feel like... wolves, I think.”
“Are they large or small?”
WHOOSH!
The sound of the leaves rustling came before he could answer, followed by a sound of something going through the air fast. It was like something just ran past the bushes near them.
“Large, as large as us.” The man gulped down strugglingly, while he was looking around.
“Your sense is unhuman. You know all this, even though we’re in the dark like this.”
“Is that a compliment?” The older one chuckled. Angela did not reply to him. Instead, she started whispering something quietly but so fast that Wisana could not recognize any of her words. And when she finished, the girl looked up to catch his eye.
“Right here, only you and I can fight.”
The taller one just raised his eyebrows, confused by her words.
“And what about it?”
“I hope you understand what I’m saying. It’s just you and me now. Nam won’t be able to fight, unless she gets all her items back again.” The explanation made Wisana understand what she was implying. His clear smooth face appeared a smile for a second at the thought that this girl loved and cared for her friend more than she looked.
“Even if you didn’t tell me that, I was going to protect my sister anyway.”
“Good.”
“And do you know these monsters? What their abilities are like?”
“I do.” She nodded at him. “Even though they’re big, they’re not that difficult to beat. Their speed is quite scary though. Also, they like attacking in a pack.”
“It’s going to be exhausting, then.” Wisana smiled wryly because his only weakness was when he was outnumbered by the enemies. The more of them, the less likely he could dodge their attacks.
This kind of situation needed Maysa the most, but she was not here right now. This was bad. Really bad!
“Don’t worry, I’m not letting anyone die here today, anyway.” The small voice sounded so gentle that it was strange to his ears. Wisana was about to ask her something, but before he could do that, Waree’s shout interrupted him.
“The destination is set. Tiggy’s ready!”
“Run!” After his command, Waree let go of the navigating doll in her hand. And the pixie flew forward quickly with green light illuminating its body to guide them in the dark.
Wisana grabbed the girls’ arms and started running instantly.
“Hold on, Na. Are we not going to bring the birds out first?!” Waree found it was hard to speak when her arm was yanked to run after the man like this.
“No! There’re trees everywhere. Riding the birds is just going to slow us down. We’d better run ourselves.” He replied immediately. If they brought those bulky birds out to ride in this overgrown forest, the riders would probably bump into some branches and fall off the birds for sure, especially in the dark like this!
The second they started running, he heard dozens of pairs of heavy footsteps chasing after them at a frightening speed. They were the real hunters. When they knew that the prey had found out about being targeted, they started the hunt at the same time!
When he looked back, Wisana saw the glowing yellow eyes of wild animals everywhere. The man gulped down and thought, ‘After the dinosaur, now I’m on a hound dog episode of Animal Planet or what?!’
“Na! Look out beside you!” Waree shouted to bring consciousness back to her brother. Right now, three massive wolves were running up to their sides. The monsters were running fast, their feral eyes gazing at the prey, their mouths full of sharp fangs, snarling in their throats to threaten them.
“What the hell are they?” Wisana yelled out loudly.
“Werewolves, half-human, half-wolf.” Angela said, catching up with him. “These things are very fast. They will stand on two legs when they’re about to attack, so be careful when they do that. Also, try not to get the venomous debuff, the dispel potion is expensive. And remember! These wolves are air element monsters, using earth element to attack them will be the most effective!”
“Huh? Attack them?!” He shouted in shock. However, before the girl mage could reply, she stopped and turned to encounter enemies, just like that.
“Angie?!” Wisana cried out. He was about to run and drag that brat back, but Waree stopped him.
“Don’t, Na.”
“You want me to leave her behind?”
“No. I want you to not get in her way!”
“Huh?!”
At that moment, more than twenty werewolves were leaping at the target at full speed. However, the pair of ruby eyes did not have any fear in them at all.
“Hey, but she’s just standing there and doing nothing, Nam!” Wisana was still yelling with concern.
“Don’t worry, Na. Angie’s fine. And she’s not just standing.” Waree shook her head. “But she’s bringing out the spells she’s cast earlier from her brain.”
“Huh?” The more she explained, the more he got confused.
“She can hold 38 verses of cast spells in her brain at the same time. Didn’t I tell you that she was a genius? Her brain’s accuracy is as good as a supercomputer. So, you don’t need to worry about her.”
“...But.”
“She can also cast ten magic spells in ten seconds. It’s the first of the world’s record.”
“What...?” His brown eyes widened with shock before he looked at the little girl who was pointing the big scepter out in front of her with her lips muttering something softly.
“Recall spell.”
BOOM!!!!
A thundering explosion came with dazzling light in different colors. Her magic spells brought out the flames, stones, icicles, and lightning at the same time. Their impact was spreading in a massive circle, blasting the werewolves that were charging at her away.
Wisana had to hold up his hands to cover himself from this blindingly bright light that was hurting his eyes. But something he was sure of was: the red number popping up showed that the attack caused damage up to 50,000 points!
“What was that?” He asked like someone who could not make sense of it, yet. After he slowly opened his eyes, Wisana saw Angela was standing exactly the same, except...
“24 werewolves are terminated. Don’t worry. None of them would be able to stand up now.” Her words still sounded cold and emotionless, making the man unconsciously gulp down, while he was looking at the unbelieving scene right in front of him.
Dozens of werewolves were sprawling out still on the ground, as well as many dropped items that were scattered on the area as proof that they were totally dead for good.
“Awesome, Angie. You only have a few items but can still take them all down like this.” Waree smiled so widely, while she was running up to hug her younger friend admiringly.
“It’s nothing, really. These monsters are just too weak.”
“I... I think you’re just too strong.” Wisana commented, voice shaking as he was walking toward the two.
“Holding 38 cast spells and casting ten of them in ten seconds, what kind of devil are you?” The little girl did not reply. She just glanced her cold eyes at him.
“To be more accurate, it’s holding 45 cast spells and can cast 12 spells in 10 seconds.” She tilted her chin up like she was bluffing him.
“Wow, a new record!” Waree shouted delightfully.
“Also, you don’t have the right to call me devil, when your senses and instincts are beyond animals’ already.”
“Oops... that hurts.” After losing the argument, he turned to pay attention to the surroundings instead. He was considering the items on the ground, before picking a familiar potion up, the one he remembered that it was worth about one hundred thousand.
“Isn’t this Magtiria potion?!” He yelled.
“Yes, it is.” Waree curled her lips up into a sweet smile.
“But this potion’s very expensive, isn’t it? I remember it’s one hundred thousand each.”
“Well, what do you think the levels of the werewolves are?” The man raised eyebrows at the question, while Angela was bringing a window with the monster’s information for Wisana to see. And that was when he choked on his own saliva.

“Damn...” The man drawled and just paused there, because he was already in a state of shock with his eyes bulging, making Waree, who was standing next to him, shake from holding in a laugh.
So, this was the difference between diurnal and nocturnal monsters! Even though its level was a lot lower than T-ranra’s from earlier, its skills were just as good as the dinosaur!
He could see now why Maysa warned him that he was not ready to fight nocturnal monsters!
“We should be more careful. We don’t know what kind of monster we’d run into in a forest like this. Just try not to be a burden.” Angela ended with harsh words, tilting her head up before walking away. And Wisana was left there with his eyes flaring up with revenge behind her back.
“Did you just call me a burden?!”
“I didn’t mention anyone’s name, just reminding you not to be one.” She replied, deadpan, while she was walking toward a dead werewolf.
“Angie, we’re going this way.” Waree reminded her.
“I know. Let me pick up this item real quick, it seems to be a good one.” The tone in her voice sounded a little bit smoother to his ears, even though Wisana did not see her smile, no matter how hard he looked.
Tch! Her voice sounded very gentle and sweet when she talked to Waree. But to him, she spoke like she hated his guts so much. This girl really deserved a spank on her butt. It looked like she did not learn anything from the lesson earlier. So, next time, he was going to show her the real way to tame a brat!!
“Hurry up, Angie.”
“Just a sec,” Angela said as she was picking up the item she wanted. “See this rank B seal breaker stone? It’s a good one, right?”
“...Come on.” Waree shook her head wearily when she saw her friend being so unbothered by the circumstances. (Sigh,) at least she should have been afraid of the dark like a normal kid!
While the little girl was enjoying collecting those high-priced items, suddenly Wisana felt a shiver down his spine. The feeling was so strong that it almost felt like his body was yanked harshly. The amber eyes were looking around, while he was getting goosebumps from this feeling.
The feeling was like that time.
It was like when he saw Lord Inferno for the first time!
Instantly, he turned to Angela.
“Angie! Get back here. It’s coming at you!!” His loud shout made Waree jump, even the little mage paused at that, too. She turned to him, looking confused.
“It? It who, or what? What’s coming at me?”
“KYAA!!! Angie, behind you. Run!” Hearing her friend scream, the little girl turned back, and her ruby eyes widened in shock.
The thing in front of her was a huge werewolf in half-human form. Its skin was black, and its fur was deep blue. It was standing on two strong hind legs. The mouth full of sharp fangs was sneering with white smoke coming out with its breath.
In the blink of an eye, the beast drew up a fist and attacked Angela with full force that left no way for her to evade it.
“...Damn it!”
BOOM!!!
8,500!
