Chapter 123: Healing
Chapter 123: Healing
’Aghh! Did I fall out of my car again?’
Ye Jun woke up with a familiar headache assaulting his head and opened his eyes groggily. He blinked, as clarity slowly returned to him.
’Right! I went a bit overboard.’
He knew calling it a bit was definitely wrong considering he was exhausting not only his body but also his Qi reserves. That put a toll on his body in return, not to mention the wounds.
The day was certainly the worst if he didn’t count his gains.
Ye Jun knocked on his head lightly and then looked around. A stone chamber filled with the aroma of herbs, clean windows that gave a perfect view of the vast depth below.
In one glance around the room, he guessed it was the Apothecary Hall.
’They seriously built a window near cliffs for patients? So what? They can jump and do suicide if it gets too much?’
That certainly was a good solution. The sect was so considerate of its disciples.
Shaking off the nonsensical thoughts, he tried to remember how he got here. The last thing he remembered was laughing after winning six duels back to back.
’Yeah, I dropped unconscious soon after. Who carried me here? Mountain?’
As if on cue, the room’s wooden door slid open, revealing the silhouette of He Wenxin in the sect’s uniform robes. The disciples didn’t have much options for fashion, it seemed.
She paused seeing him and smiled, "Welcome to the world of the living."
"Woah! You actually know how to smile, that’s new information," Ye Jun said, trying to get into a comfortable spot.
"Seems like you are fine if you can speak nonsense again," He Wenxin said, as she came over to sit beside him and gave him a bowl of soup. "Here, drink this."
"Is it aphrodisiacs?" Ye Jun asked, even as he took it.
By now, He Wenxin had learned not to take his words seriously so she completely ignored it and said, "Third Seat helped us in bringing you here. He also paid for your treatment."
"That’s surprising," Ye Jun mumbled after drinking the sour soup in one go. "Yuck! Two out of ten. This sucks."
"No, it doesn’t," He Wenxin’s voice turned soft as she asked, "How are you feeling? The Apothecary said you’ll be fine by the time you wake up, but..."
"Hmm. Let me check." Ye Jun said, as he jumped out of the bed and tried to do some exercises.
After over a minute, he stopped and came back to sit. "A little headache, some muscle pain and a bit of damage to the meridians. That’s all."
"That’s dangerous!" He Wenxin got on her feet. "I’ll call the Apothecary."
"Shh! Chill!" Ye Jun caught her hand and made her sit. "I’m really fine. I know myself better than anyone."
He Wenxin stared at him for a moment longer before nodding, "Alright. It’s your matter. Also, the big man accompanied you for the night. Only left in the morning for his learning sessions."
"Yes, it’s fine." Ye Jun cracked his neck and said, "You can also leave and focus on your work. Doesn’t it start around this time? I’m really fine."
He Wenxin hesitated for a moment, making him confused.
"What is it?" he asked. "You want to say something?"
"Yes," He Wenxin sighed and said, looking down. "Thank you. Without your intervention, I would have been expelled. I don’t want that. So I’m really grateful."
With that, she ran out of the room, not before slamming the door shut.
Left alone, Ye Jun scratched his cheeks and muttered, "I didn’t even do that for you. Whatever! I should focus on healing first."
He quickly sat in a lotus position and began cultivating the Grand Genesis Foundation Sutra. Considering it was used in Qi circulation, it could help him recover faster.
However, there was another point. His Yang Seed. It allowed him to recover rapidly as long as he circulated his Qi well. This was the reason why he wasn’t worried about minor injuries.
Time passed. The sun reached the top of the world, showering everything with bright sunlight as if it was glaring at it.
Ye Jun slowly opened his eyes and exhaled the foul air. He then clenched his fists and stretched a bit. A smile formed on his face.
"Noice!"
The headache was gone and most of his external injuries were healed. As for the damage to his meridians, well, his cultivation manual specifically targeted the meridians so it wasn’t an issue.
They also got healed.
’Now the gains,’ Ye Jun thought, glancing at his status.
There wasn’t a noticeable gain there. His cultivation base had finally reached the Sixth Stage Qi Condensation Realm but was still far away from advancing to the Seventh Stage.
His existing skills got some improvement too. Along with that, he also saw some additional Mysterious Techniques. Most of them were useless for him, especially because of their low mastery, so he ignored them.
He only got two good Mysterious Techniques, one of which was water-based so he instantly threw it in the trash. He had no plans of getting Water Affinity anytime soon because of its contradicting nature with fire, so it really was useless to him.
The only one that remained was Iron Flow Combat Art.
’This is goddamn peak if I can cultivate it more.’ Ye Jun grinned, rubbing his hands. ’Perhaps I should fight that Zhan Kuang more. I need more proficiency in this Mysterious Technique.’
That was his plan anyway... but then he remembered something important and facepalmed.
"Right! He can’t fight me because of his low rank. Damn it!"
He would just have to wait for the man to catch up to him, but that was impossible considering his plans for the future.
"Whatever! I have so much more to do anyway."
He quickly went to refresh himself. Fortunately, the room had a bathroom attached for whatever reason. And he always carried his clothes in his space ring.
’Gotta say that’s a benefit of being in the cultivation world. I can bathe wherever I want.’
When he came out, he found the Apothecary waiting for him. After some testing, he was set free so he decided to meet the Third Seat.
Then, his future plans remained.
