Chapter 124: Change Of Plans
Chapter 124: Change Of Plans
Two months passed so quickly that Ye Jun didn’t even realize it. He was so busy in everything that time passing meant little to him now.
In his mind, he only had a single goal, to improve as much as he could in the sect. And that’s what he did.
Every day, he fought at least two duels to collect attribute bubbles from them. That not only increased his cultivation base, but also his arsenal.
His collection of Mysterious Techniques continued to grow, though the pace at which he was getting them did slow down. Mostly because people already realized what he was doing and avoided it.
Nobody wanted their Mysterious Techniques stolen, after all.
They tried to win quickly; if they failed, then they simply forfeited. It frustrated Ye Jun, but there was nothing he could do about it.
There was an exception to it though. Zhuxin’s men.
The Fourth Seat was a stubborn and hateful person. He had sworn to bring down Ye Jun and he put effort into doing just that. He found men from higher ranks and persuaded them to challenge Ye Jun and defeat him.
None managed to defeat him though.
Ye Jun was fine with losing to others, but not to Zhuxin. And he did lose quite a few times in those two months. In fact, he even got butchered a few times.
But that only poured oil on the fire of his desire.
Eventually, he began to defeat the disciples who humiliated him. Finally, he managed to reach close to the 200th rank.
It wasn’t an easy path till there. Zhuxin was trying everything to bring him down in duels. Outside of duels, the senior disciples targeted him in the name of course.
Granted, the number had lessened after everyone began to see his ridiculous performance. But that also meant making new enemies.
He spent every day focusing everything on improving, all while dealing with his enemies. He actually loved the attention he was getting as that meant more duels, and more duels meant faster cultivation speed.
Sometimes, he won. Sometimes, he lost. But one thing became clear to the whole sect, including the Elders.
He was a genius.
There had been no actions from the Elders’ side, though Ye Jun guessed that they wanted to see more of what he could do. After all, the sheer ability to copy Mysterious Techniques alone was enough to get their attention.
Just like that, his days passed. The only one he had to talk to was He Wenxin, who was also very happy to share her daily life with him.
After what he did, the other disciples didn’t dare to mess with her, so her lifestyle improved and she began to smile more. Especially because she could spend time and effort on something she really liked.
Aside from her, he talked with Mountain once in a while too. As for his other two friends, they had gone completely silent, but Ye Jun didn’t mind it.
He knew it meant that they were at a critical stage in their cultivation.
Of course, the thing that helped the most aside from duels were the training grounds. Whether it was the Fire Hall or Gale Pressure Chamber, or the Weapon Master Chamber, every single one of them helped him greatly in improving.
They drained him of money greedily, so he was very thankful that he had decided to give the Profound Rank cultivation manual to the sect. He didn’t have time to gain contribution points, but he knew he would need them very soon.
Currently, he was standing before a stone stele which showed the current Tempest Gale Rankings. At the top sat a name that hadn’t changed since the time Ye Jun entered the sect.
Shui Xian.
Ye Jun had heard great things about him, like the fact that he couldn’t be defeated by the combination of three ranks below him combined.
So he was looking forward to one day fighting him. But certainly there was a long way till then, so he looked at the bottom of the list.
200th - Sun Tianlan, Eighth-Stage Qi Condensation Realm.
The woman who had defeated him twice already. He wanted to challenge her again, but knew the result would be the same. He could fight her better but couldn’t win.
’I guess I will have to stop the duels for now,’ Ye Jun thought.
He was stubborn, but also knew when to back away. This was that situation where he couldn’t do anything, so it was better to take a step back and think of a different solution.
Still, he smiled and thought, ’I already have absorbed a lot from the duels.’
After two months of struggle, he had reached the Seventh-Stage Qi Condensation Realm and was very close to forming his eighth Qi Vortex in his Dantian.
There was also a plethora of Mysterious Techniques sitting in his inventory. Some passive skills he acquired along the way. Not to mention the improvement in other parts of the status.
’Time to change the tactics. I’ve been using Grand Genesis Foundation Sutra for more than four months. My foundation is quite stable now, so I can focus properly on improving my cultivation base.’
That was mostly because he wanted to advance to the Soul Tempering Realm before he turned twenty.
According to the sect’s rules, if any disciple attained the Soul Tempering Realm before they turned twenty, they could enter the Heavenly Frost Palace directly.
That was why the Pavilion Master had told Meihui that she could enter the Palace very soon.
Now, Ye Jun wanted to move to the Heavenly Frost Palace along with his friends as soon as possible. He had no intentions of going through a tournament arc to enter the Heavenly Frost Palace.
It was the place where he could truly focus on solving the riddles around his dream. Its mysteries still haunted him.
’Duels won’t give me the cultivation base.’
Normal fights gave him attribute bubbles, but their numbers were incomparable to the ones he got when he killed someone.
His lips curled up as he turned around and muttered,
"Time to leave this sect."
