Chapter 522 - 514 Awkward Cohabitation Life (Part 2)

The expansive dining room, the long dining table draped with a white tablecloth, came into Ji Anning’s view, and her heart gave a fierce tug.

"This dining table looks so old-fashioned, switch it with a white one, the long type suited for a candlelight dinner."

"Okay!"

Although she had only spent those brief few days here, memories were everywhere.

Those days had been the only time in their romance when they had let go of all mental burdens and were together carefree, indulging in unrestrained sweetness, coziness, coquetry, and pampering.

Memories always hit unexpectedly, fiercer and crueler than floods or wild beasts.

Ji Anning couldn’t help the sourness welling in her eyes and lowered her head.

The little one by her side had spotted the feast from afar, and now approaching the table, her view obstructed, she grew anxious, tiptoed, and stretched her arms out, "Mommy, hug, hug."

Ji Anning pushed away her melancholic feelings, bent down to pick up Fenfen, glanced at Ji Chicheng on her left, hesitated for a moment, then walked to the opposite side and positioned Fenfen directly across from him, seating herself next to Fenfen.

Fenfen stood on the chair, her hands pressing against the table, her bright eyes scanning all the dishes like little radars.

Watching her greedy little expression, Ji Chicheng across the table couldn’t help but smile.

He reached out, quickly selected two bland, easy-to-chew, and digestible dishes from the array and placed them in front of the little girl, "Only these two are for you."

The twenty-month-old girl, although unable to speak, could already discern the sentiment behind adults’ expressions and understand many ordinary phrases.

She pouted discontentedly, "No good."

As she spoke, she placed her hands on the table and randomly started waving, knocking over the two dishes Ji Chicheng had given her.

One was shrimp and egg custard, and the other was mushroom and greens soup, both spilling everywhere.

"Fenfen!"

Seeing this, Ji Anning quickly intervened, her tone a bit more stern, which made the little girl’s eyes well up.

Her lips pursed, on the brink of shedding tearful golden beads, when Ji Chicheng’s voice suddenly rose from across the table, "It’s okay, Fenfen did great, you should knock over what you don’t like."

His tone was full of indulgence.

Ji Anning: "..."

What kind of bizarre parenting is this?

She had thought Charles was the epitome of spoiling children, having pampered Fenfen into capriciousness, yet there was someone even more unreasonable.

Despite her capriciousness and spoiling food, still throwing a tantrum, he actually praised her for doing great.

Isn’t this misleading the child?

Yet, she dared not express any opinions, nor criticize Fenfen, silently pulling out a few tissues, wiping the table clean of the spilled soup.

Ji Anning kept her head down as she wiped, while Ji Chicheng, with a slight smile, watched Fenfen, "What would you like to eat, Fenfen?"

"Chicken..." Fenfen pointed at a dish of chicken wings, her pronunciation not very clear.

"Okay." Ji Chicheng nodded, picked up a piece of chicken wing, tore off a small piece of the skin, and popped it into Fenfen’s mouth, "Try this first."

Fenfen chewed for a while, her small face growing increasingly puzzled, and finally, she wrinkled her eyebrows together and burst into cries with an "ow" sound.

"What’s the matter?" Ji Anning, still unaware of what had happened, looked up at Fenfen’s flushed little face.
