Chapter 521 - 513 Awkward Cohabitation (Part 1)

This was clearly telling Ji Chicheng to stop making a fuss.

Ji Chicheng’s fingers instinctively shrank back, but by the time he realized it, it was already too late.

His smile froze on his face, and in the next second, his expression darkened. He reached out, took Fenfen from Ji Anning’s arms, and looked at Ji Anning coldly, "Think it over before you make a decision."

Then he stepped foot inside the front door.

’I am giving you the opportunity to live here, but once you enter this door, don’t even think about stepping out, or else you will never see Fenfen again.’

Ji Anning watched Ji Chicheng holding Fenfen as they entered the house, with his conditions echoing in her ears. She stood uncertainly where she was.

From inside, Fenfen’s voice calling out to her came along, a childish, increasingly urgent tone impacting her otherwise unwavering heart.

’I will give you two months. If you can’t bring Fenfen back, I will take matters into my own hands.’

He was so affectionate toward Fenfen; if one day, she took Fenfen away from him, it would undoubtedly be another deep wound for him.

However, given Charles’s pressing demands, if she did not comply with him, she did not know what the influential Charles might do to Ji Chicheng.

The cold wind blew in gusts, Ji Anning stood still, her mind clear and her analysis thorough, yet her heart remained in turmoil.

"Mommy!"

The cries of Fenfen came again from inside, Ji Anning lifted her head, took a deep breath, and stepped inside.

Although she was not clear on how powerful her uncle might be or how capable, she dared not take the risk. She couldn’t afford even a slight threat to him.

Ji Anning’s steps brought her closer to the brightly lit living room; everything inside the house remained exactly the same as it was two years ago.

"Mommy..."

Seeing Ji Anning enter, Fenfen jumped off Ji Chicheng and happily ran toward her.

Reaching her side, she tiptoed to grab Ji Anning’s hand, pulling her deeper into the house, "Eat, eat... food time..."

She switched between Chinese and English.

Her Chinese wasn’t as good as her English.

In Charles’s home, Charles did not allow Fenfen to learn Chinese, and she always called her mommy. Just now, however, she unexpectedly called her ’mommy,’ and it seemed that when she called Ji Chicheng, she also called him ’daddy.’

Previously, she was taught to call him ’daddy.’

Ji Anning was momentarily taken aback by Fenfen speaking Chinese, then raised her head and looked toward the man sitting on the couch; his gaze was also fixed on her.

"Since you have entered, that means you have considered it carefully. From today onwards, you are not allowed to step out of this house, or else you will never see Fenfen again," Ji Chicheng warned Ji Anning as he stood up.

Having said this, he turned and walked toward the dining room.

Ji Anning watched his cold stoic back and blurted out a question, "Why?"

After asking the question, she questioned herself inwardly, why did she ask him ’why’?

What sort of answer did she want from him? Or what was she expecting?

Ji Chicheng paused in his step but did not turn around, "Because I do not want Fenfen to be influenced by a mother entangled in scandals and one who leads a tumultuous private life."

With that, he resumed his stride and walked into the dining room.

A mother entangled in scandals and leading a tumultuous private life...

Ji Anning’s other hand, hanging by her side, clenched into a fist as if gripping her own heart tightly.

The little person beside her still looked up at her, and on her face was a constant, slight smile.
