Chapter 359 - 353: Disagree and ’Sleep’ (Part 7)

He gave Anning a warning, then went back into the cabin, took out his luggage, and waited to disembark.

Ji Anning, full of anticipation, had a bucket of cold water thrown over her. She reined in her eagerness and withdrew her gaze, lowering her eyelids.

As soon as the yacht docked, Ji Jingfeng immediately jumped ashore and walked into the island on his own.

Ji Anning was still brewing, still melancholic, wondering how to face Yang Yufang, what to call her, when the yacht’s pilot took out her luggage.

"Miss Anning."

Ji Anning’s train of thought was interrupted, and she looked at the approaching pilot with a faint voice, "I’ll take it."

She reached out to take it.

The pilot said with a smile, "The Young Master instructed me to escort you and Young Master Jingfeng to the island."

Upon hearing this, Ji Anning pursed her lips, retracted her hand, and turned to get off the bed.

The scenery on the island far exceeded her expectations in beauty, but she had no heart to appreciate it, distracted all the way.

"Anning."

Suddenly, a familiar voice came from in front of her. Ji Anning was startled and looked ahead.

The only person she couldn’t let go of at the Ji Family was coming toward her.

Her hands that were hanging by her side clenched nervously into fists; she didn’t have the courage to step forward.

"Anning," Yang Yufang came up to Ji Anning, excitedly gripping her hands, her eyes brimming with tears.

She checked her over thoroughly and said with heartache, "You’ve lost weight, you’ve lost a whole circle."

"Mom," Ji Anning couldn’t hold back any longer and called out the ’Mom’ she had been holding back. She rubbed her eyes, pouting, and her voice was somewhat choked, "You’re the one who’s lost weight, how did you lose so much?"

Indeed, when she first saw her, she almost didn’t recognize her; she had become so thin that it changed her shape completely.

Ji Anning held Yang Yufang’s arm, carefully scrutinized her appearance again. She was wearing a set of light blue floral pajamas, the charm and grace she once had were gone.

Looking sickly.

Yang Yufang gave a smile and changed the subject, "It’s windy outside, come inside quickly."

She took Ji Anning’s hand.

Ji Jingfeng watched, his heart filled with resentment and indignation. He spoke in a cool tone, "Mom, you’re so fond of her, but it doesn’t seem like she cares much for you. She’s been living a comfortable life in the Ji Family."

At those words, Ji Anning’s heart tightened, and she nervously looked at Ji Jingfeng.

Ji Jingfeng had anticipated her reaction, his cold gaze waiting for her to clash with it.

Seeing her so nervous, he seemed to find a trace of malicious satisfaction, a sneer curling at the corner of his mouth, "Why so nervous? You wouldn’t be feeling guilty about having done something behind my back with Mom, would you?"

Ji Anning felt guilty, but she had to stop Ji Jingfeng from continuing.

Thinking this, she tried to appear composed and gave Ji Jingfeng a slight smile, "What guilty thing could I possibly do? It’s you who seem to be involved in some dubious dealings with Uncle recently; I always see you whispering about something in private."

She deliberately emphasized the word "Uncle" a little more.

Ji Anning brought up Ji Chicheng, causing Ji Jingfeng’s face to change. He gritted his teeth and suppressed the anger bubbling inside him.

With a scoff, he turned around and walked ahead.

Yang Yufang, looking at Ji Jingfeng’s angry back, reproached discontentedly, "This child, why is his temper so bad now?"

Then she turned her gaze back to Ji Anning. Ji Anning forced a wavering smile, contorting her lips.
