Because the main focus of the camera was on Qi Helian and Wan Yueyue, everyone and everything else became an insignificant backdrop, but the old man still recognized his son at a glance.

Even though it was only a small half of his side face, his sharp eyes squinted suspiciously, he reached out to snatch the newspaper and looked down at it carefully.

"Not very tall."

The old man made only one comment about the woman behind his son, his tone betraying neither satisfaction nor dissatisfaction.

Then he stuffed the newspaper back to Ji Ming Yue and walked towards the staircase.

As he ascended, Ji Chicheng happened to come out of his room, and father and son collided.

"Bring that girl back for your dad to see."

Ji Chicheng replied calmly, "It’s not the right time."

The old man grew anxious, his eyebrows knitting together as he asked, "When will it be the right time?"

Before Ji Chicheng could respond, he furrowed his brows again and compromised, "I’ll just have a look. Whether she’s good or bad, I won’t interfere with your decision."

Ji Chicheng looked at the old man’s helpless expression, and a warmth began to melt the coldness in his dark eyes, a trace of a smile flickering.

He arched an eyebrow slightly, "Dad, will you keep your word?"

’Hmph,’ the old man snorted through his nose and turned his face away stubbornly, not looking at Ji Chicheng, "When have I ever gone back on my word to you?"

Ji Chicheng smiled, "I’ll bring them to you when there are two."

Seeing the smile on his face, the old man was taken aback for a moment, and then a flash of excitement shone in his eyes.

He nodded without thinking, "Two then, two."

It was only then that he realized what he had agreed to and, out of curiosity, he looked at Ji Chicheng and asked, "Two? What two? Are you planning on dating two girls at once?"

"You won’t just be looking at the monk’s face, you’ll be considering the Buddha’s," Ji Chicheng said, as the smile gradually faded from his face.

Having said that, he didn’t pay any more attention to the old man, hands in his trouser pockets, and continued to go downstairs.

He slightly tilted his chin upward, a pleased, faint smile spreading across his lips.

The old man stood stunned for a while before finally understanding the meaning of Ji Chicheng’s ’two’. As Ji Chicheng had already disappeared around the stairwell, he laughed irritably, "This brat."

Then he pursed his lips tightly, feeling an immense sense of reassurance and joy in his heart.

Just then, as Ji Xiangting sat on the sofa, she added another jab, "Fourth Aunt, you have indeed passed the prime age for a woman to choose a partner."

Ji Anning had imagined the idyllic beauty of Garden Island, with birdsong and fragrant flowers, it must be beautiful.
