Chapter 261 Bring Me Molinda
Chapter 261 Bring Me Molinda
"So when will the post birthday party be holding?" Kelsie shouted from the bedroom.
"In a few days, I’m not sure. I’ll ask grandfather." Jett shouted back, still inside the closet.
Kelsie was quiet for a moment before she spoke up. "I think I forgot my phone in the living room, I’ll go bring it."
Immediately, he appeared by the door, his phone in hand.
"I’ll bring it for you or the kids will."
She shook her head.
"It’s my apartment, but it looks so different I’m having a hard time recognizing it to be mine. I’ll just use the opportunity to go around the house."
Jett had never truly won any argument against her, so he knew better than to argue and strutted toward her.
Bending over, he pointed at the button by the armrest.
"You don’t have to push yourself. You turn on the batteries in the wheels and use this to control it. It doesn’t need much tugging to know which direction to go, so you won’t have any problem navigating."
Kelsie nodded and looked up at him, smacking her lips together sarcastically.
"Oh, thank you. I doubt I would’ve remembered explaining that to a few hundred patients I’ve had in the past who had to move around on a wheelchair for a while."
His lips quivered in amusement and he reached out to tap her nose playfully, "You’re stubborn. I needed to understand you knew exactly what to do and won’t rip open your wound again."
Kelsie chuckled and turned on the wheelchair to leave, "It’s a good thing i wasn’t shot in the head. I would’ve rather die than turn into a complete idiot."
She had just turned it around to leave when Jett suddenly stood in her way.
Brows knitting into a confused frown, she slowly looked up at him. "What are you doing? Don’t tell me you changed your mind so soon."
"Have you never heard of people jinxing themselves?"
"What?"
He lowered his face toward hers.
She shrunk back the closer his face got until she could not move back any longer and had to stay into his face from a ridiculously close distance.
"Jinxing. Like when you mention something that didn’t happen and it happens right after you did."
She shifted uncomfortably in her seat, questioning genuinely, "I didn’t peg you to be superstitious. Have I made a mistake in my choice in partner?"
Jett paused, his brows wrinkling at that thought.
Superstitious? He had never really thought of that.
When the doctor said she was in coma and didn’t know when she’d wake up, he got worried and got on the net to find out if people in bullets induced coma come out of it fast.
That’s when he stumbled upon a comment talking about how underrated it was to be lying in comatose for a few years, no idea what’s going on in the world.
The comment gently admonished the poster not to go around making such comment lest they get jinxed.
It stuck to him pretty fast, but now that he thought of it, he hadn’t even bothered to know if that was the truth and took it to heart.
Straightening up, he scoffed and whipped his head to the side nonchalantly
"Well, I don’t know about it being a superstition or not but I do know it’s better save than sorry so take back what you said right this instant!"
Kelsie straightened you her shoulders puffing out as she declared loudly, "I... take back what I said this instant!"
Outside the door, Jesse and Zade who had been called over by their sister to listen to their parents.
"I don’t know but doesn’t to daddy say really bizarre things."
"He’s your daddy too." Zade correctly, pressing his ear tighter against the door.
"So mommy is the one who’s sick, but daddy’s acting like the sick. Are you saying we have to call the hospital?" Keira who agreed with Zade couldn’t help voicing out of concern.
Jesse and Zade were on the verge of considering it when the door swung open at that moment.
"You’re here. Your mommy left her phone in the living room, Jesse. Get it for her. Keira and Jesse, why don’t you go with mommy as she looks around the house?"
Their small faces ashen from worry instantly brightly.
What a relief.
Their father was still sensible and wasn’t holding it against them after seeing them talking outside.
If only they knew finding all three of them was a relief for Jett who just so happened to win the ongoing argument between him and Kelsie.
"This isn’t over." Kelsie huffed silently, turning on the wheelchair again.
Jett beamed, robotically waving her goodbye at the door.
As soon as all four of them was out of sight, his smiling face faded, and he turned to head into the room again.
"What do you mean you found Luca Langford and now you can’t? Who even is that?"
"You don’t know the Langford family of Senei City?" Maxwell’s surprised voice came up almost immediately.
Jett paused.
Langford family of Senei City.
After a while, his lips twitched slightly, "Senei City isn’t that the wealthiest city in the continent?"
"You mean globally." Maxwell corrected.
"It’s home to several billionaires, not millionaires. In fact being a millionaire there is considered being poor."
"I don’t care if he’s a billionaire, he kidnapped my daughter and tried to hurt your fiancée. I’m going to get my hands on him so I can kill him." Jett squeezed out in rage amidst clenched teeth.
It was Maxwell’s turn to pause.
"Fiancée? Since when are you two engaged?"
Jett sneered, moving the phone’s speaker directly under his mouth, "We have three kids together it’s only right that we get married, don’t you think?"
He could feel it, the heavy tension which instantly formed before them as Maxwell seemed to be holding himself back from saying something.
"We will take about all that later. For now, I cannot seem to find Luca Langford in Budding Rose Hotel where he lodged yesterday."
"I also can’t pull rank on these people to get the names of every guest who registered between two days ago and today."
Jett’s brows perked up slightly, "Your Kensington family sk so powerful, yet you can’t even intimidate a few executives?"
A knock sounded on the door at this moment and Jett glanced behind him.
Kelsie wouldn’t knock before coming in. He’d also know if it’s the kids as they’d be chattering from a mile again.
Daniel, on the other hand, wasn’t very respectful. Since he knew this was a shared room, he’d first call out to Kelsie before coming.
If he knew it was just Jett, he’d just come in.
"Sir, it’s me. Daniel said I could find you here." Eric’s voice blared out from the door just as the thought that it could be Luca flashed through his mind.
"I didn’t want to bother you, sir, but it has just come to my notice that Maxwell Kensington has been pressuring one of our Budding Rose Hotel. How do I proceeding?"
Jett’s pupils dilated.
So that’s why Maxwell couldn’t get through.
The executives only resisted because they knew Adler Group was behind them.
Caressing his brows, he reached out to pull the door open, coming face to face witb Eric.
"I didn’t know we owned Budding Rose Hotel."
Eric glanced behind him, making sure no one was listening before he leaned toward Jett to whisper, "That’s because grandfather bought it a few days finding out about the triplets."
"He bought some houses and condos, saying he’ll buy more for Ms. Sutton as a wedding gift."
This information only made Jett scoff.
"He’s already buying things? Didn’t he retire so he could stay back and rest peacefully, what is he doing wooing my wife?"
What he didn’t know was that Eric simply sugar coated Jack’s words.
To be exact, he said, "I couldn’t train that grandson of mine properly and I feel bad she has to deal with him. So I’m going to give her a lot of gifts so she doesn’t die of anger one of these days."
After fuming, Jett ordered Eric, "I need the list of everyone who booked a room or suite in Budding Rose Hotel in the past two days."
He nodded and got to work.
Three minutes later, he returned with the list.
It was an awfully long list, but thankfully, it was in a spreadsheet, the names written down in alphabetical order.
Luca would want to hide in plain side so he wouldn’t be shameless enough to use his name.
He cross examined the list severally and didn’t see any alias he could’ve used. Just when he was about to give up, his eyes fell on a surprising one.
Molinda.
It had no last name, just a first name.
"Get me a surveillance footage of when this Molinda signed into the hotel."
"On it, sir." Eric answered, stepping back to call the hotel’s manager.
A moment later, he returned with a clear surveillance footage.
Jett wasn’t very surprised to see Molinda paying for a suite at the front them, but he paused and zoomed onto the reflection on the revolving door when a man suddenly joined her out of nowhere.
They passed by the door which captured his side profile but since he didn’t know what Luca looked like, he recalled the features Serbian had mentioned earlier; white hair and a limp.
Instantly, his face visibly darkened.
"Bring me Molinda."
