Oops, Mommy Slept With A Tyrant

Chapter 260 Inherited Shamelessness

Chapter 260 Inherited Shamelessness

"Don’t be pathetic and hold it against the poor man. Aunt Lois is the one who didn’t want you." Molly couldn’t resisting huffing behind Kelsie.

Maxwell wasn’t offended and even shrugged. "I don’t see anything good about him. I’m glad Lois’ genes were stronger and made Kelsie inherit everything."

Molly paused, her thoughts flashing back to what Jerry had divulged at the hotel room.

He was so desperate so he couldn’t have made that up.

Then did that mean...

Her thoughts trailed off as she narrowed her eyes at Maxwell.

Was Aunt Lois really playing the long game?

It was already a curse to be born into the Langford family. Being a member of both the Langford and the Kensington... was just a nightmare.

That’s right.

Her aunt was definitely playing the long game.

Unaware of the thoughts going through Molly’s head, Luca walked up to Kelsie with a small smile.

"If you let Luca go without ending his life, they’ll find out about your existence. If they find out about you, you might just come home from work one day to find the apartment burning. Your children still inside."

"Or a man could tie himself to your kids and throw himself off the roof of the apartment building."

"One of the teachers at their school could even grab one of them and tie an explosive around them so they could blow up together. All these are things that would happen if you let Luca walk."

However, Kelsie’s eyes hardened.

"You keep mentioning my kids. It’s getting irritating."

He smiled.

"You summoned me when you had your lawyer take the briefcase to Adler Group yesterday. Don’t you remember?"

Only then did Kelsie’s pupils dilate.

No one knew about that briefcase except her lawyer. So if he was talking about it... it had to be true.

And if her mother’s briefcase directly brought him here, then he must be telling the truth.

Maxwell exhaled heavily, looking up at the ceiling, "Lois was a genius, but she was crazy. She made enemies wherever she went. In the part of the world both our families come from, power is distributed among very powerful people."

"They decide who lives and who doesn’t. Let’s just say your mother didn’t give a damn about any of them."

"First, she refused to become head of the Langford family. Then, when one of them fell sick, she refused to operate on him. So he called a different surgeon who only made things worse, and now he lives with a disability."

"I could go on and on about the many ways she challenged them before committing an unforgivable crime which led to all this, but it doesn’t seem like you’re ready to hear them."

Kelsie listened without interrupting. When he was done, she barely shrugged.

"My last name is Sutton, not Fletcher and definitely not Langford. You think Lois did all that just so you could stand here 25 years later and tell me this?"

To this, he bobbed his head in the negative.

"No, she didn’t. But she probably didn’t plan to die so early—just like I doubt she wanted her psychotic brother to find you."

He slipped his hands out of his pockets, lowered himself to her level, and spoke into her face with a gentle smile.

"These things have already happened, so it’d only be foolish of you not to do anything about it. You let Luca Langford find out about you..."

"So it’s only a matter of time before they find out about you and come for your children. Then they go for everyone you love. And finally, they shift to you. That’s how vile they are."

"They won’t stop until they wipe all traces of Lois off the surface of our lovely Earth. Doesn’t matter if your last name is Sutton. Now do you see how this is every bit your problem?"

Behind them, Molly was internally conflicted.

Kelsie couldn’t even castrate the teacher who hit her daughter which was the only reason Luca was able to frame her for murder.

So the odds that she’d do anything to Luca were very low.

If she divulged the likelihood that she could be Maxwell’s daughter, that would mean switching sides.

And if Kelsie didn’t do anything about Luca, he’d surely come for her once this was over.

In the end, she made the decision to say nothing and quietly watch how everything unfolded before making her choice.

Kelsie glanced at Luca, then reached out to tug Molly, who got the cue to wheel her out.

Watching her leave, Maxwell straightened up. Then he returned to Jerry’s side, stared at him for a moment, and suddenly stretched his leg—shoving him out of bed.

The health practitioners nearby rushed to help Jerry back into bed.

Like a cat that knew it had caused trouble, Maxwell felt everyone’s eyes on him and slowly dropped his foot.

"The fluid seemed to be gathering in one place, so I was just going to turn him over." He explained, walking out before anyone could counter him.

For the next five days, Kelsie remained in the hospital, and Molly returned to working at the practice.

But now that she no longer had a reason to hide, she simply threw away Molly’s bubbly personality and became Molinda.

Her true personality wasn’t bubbly, so she simply told the janitors she was Molly’s introverted twin sister.

Exactly seven day after Kelsie was shot, she was finally cleared to return home.

"Did I stay cooooped up in the ward for too long, or is the ceiling suddenly higher than I remember?" Kelsie voiced out as Jett rolled her into the house that afternoon.

"I didn’t know you changed the furniture. Even the flooring seems different. Did you do a major renovation on the apartment building, or is it just my..."

She trailed off, her eyes snapping to the ceiling in sudden realization.

"No. You did not!"

Keira giggled cheekily.

"See! I told you mommy would be surprised!"

Zade beamed. "Mommy, we each have our own room now and Uncle Daniel also has a room of his own."

To this, Jett shook his head. "Guest room. Your uncle just can’t differentiate the difference between a guest room and a bedroom."

"If you wanted it to be a guest room, why furniture it to look better than a bedroom?" Daniel scoffed as he walked in carrying groceries.

The nanny came out to greet Kelsie and take the groceries from him.

"You have a house, go to it." Jett glowered at Daniel.

"That’s a cruel thing to say, Jett. You know how fragile I am at things like this. Forget it! I’m going to my room to complain to grandfather!"

Pressing his lips together, Jett’s eyes followed him as he stomped to his ’room’, then he turned to remind everyone, "He’s 25."

The triplets simply took Kelsie’s things from the hospital to the bedroom while she voiced a concern.

"Your grandmother’s birthday was a few days ago and I was supposed to take the triplets to meet her like I promised your grandfather."

Pushing her toward the bedroom, he patted her hair gently, "Our Adler family usually have a post-birthday party."

"That’s perfect then." She exhaled in relief, slouching back.

When they got to the bedroom, she was taken aback to see it had quadrupled in size.

"It’s... huge. Too huge."

Her brows knitted into a small frown when she turned to see him leaving the room.

"Did you forget something? Where are you going?"

"Oh, this is your bedroom. Mine is across." With one foot outside the door and the other still inside, he casually waved his hand at her but didn’t step out.

Looking outside, his eyes fell on Keira, who immediately gave him a thumbs-up.

"Oh, daddy, are you going to that tiny room again?" Getting her signal, she sighed exaggeratedly in the most dramatic voice she could muster.

"It’s not tiny, baby. I just want your mother to have her privacy. I’ll be fine in the not-so tiny room." The man shook his head vigorously, watching Kelsie’s reaction from the corner of his eye.

An unsuspecting Kelsie scratched her brows gently, sizing the room with her eyes.

"I don’t know, this is a big bed and room, I think it can..."

The words were barely out of her mouth when Jett quickly brought in the leg outside, closing the door behind him.

"Of course. If it so pleases you, I’ll bring my things from the other room."

Watching him strut across the room to the closet, which surprisingly had male clothing packed inside, Kelsie’s lips twitched in realization.

So that’s where Keira got her shamelessness.
