Chapter 593: Reasons.

Hao Mei sighed as she took the jade bottle with the strand of Snow Sword grass inside it. She sensed the grass and asked, "When do you plan on going back?"

Han Lingshi shook her head and replied, "As soon as possible, the situation is not very good on the other side."

Hao Mei asked, "What do you mean?"

Han Lingshi sighed and then said, "The threat possessed by extra territorial demons is not small, they will not only kill the humans in the eternal battlefield. But they will revive the Archdemon, the sovereign of their race to charge at the world’s outside the battlefield as well. Even Ren is not sure if he can handle that kind of threat. The only thing that we can do at the moment is to hold twelve cities minimum in our grasp."

Hao Mei nodded, and said, "So, in a nutshell, you need commanders. Right?"

Han Lingshi hummed and said, "Another reason is your skills, Big Sis. We need someone who can manage the units with me. Ren is not suitable to fight with other people anymore. At least not for now."

Hao Mei raised her brow and asked, "What do you mean by that?"

Han Lingshi sighed and replied, "He is comprehending the path of slaughter Dao."

As soon as those words dropped from her mouth, Hao Mei reached to grab Han Lingshi’s shoulder and asked, "What do you mean? How can you let him do it? This is crazy."

Han Lingshi sighed and said, "I did ask him why he wanted to go ahead with this, and he told me that slaughter is not only for killing people, but it is to protect the ones he love as well. He told me that with the Dao of slaughter, he could deter the people who have even the slightest of malic towards us."

Hao Mei sighed and replied, "This brat, he is getting way more reckless with his life."

Han Lingshi sighed and replied, "Well, there is no use of talking to him about it now. He has already condensed the Halo and a few runes. Till now, he is calm, but the changes in his temperament is rather visible."

The two ladies chatted and after a few more minutes, Hao Mei nodded and said, "Fine, I will go, but tell this punk to better not lose control or I will beat his ass to pulp."

Hao Ren had no idea that his elder sister has agreed to step into the battlefield once again, he was just busy playing with Yanling and Xuanshen. He also taught them cultivation skills. Then guided them about things that they should keep in mind when cultivating, another thing that he warned them about was to not hurry when they start cultivating.

Yanling and Xuanshen obediently agreed to everything he said. They were smiling the whole time, and talking to him about various things. Hao Ren found that not only were his kids geniuses but they had an innocent heart as well. Hao Ren had no idea, but during the conversations the slight tension in his heart gradually vanished. It was not because the two kids had some special powers, but they had managed to bring out the caring and the genuine human that resided in Hao Ren’s heart.

After a few hours, the young man took a deep breath and said, "When I am not here, that means I am away, but not gone. I will come back as much as I can, in the meantime, will you two tend to the people of the country and that pair of oldies back at the eastern palace."

Yanling giggled and said, "Baba, Grandma will beat you for talking bad."

Hao Ren smiled and held her little face in his palms, and asked, "Will you let her beat me?"

Yanling smiled and shook her head before the young man looked at Xuanshen and said, "Shen, you are the big brother, look after Ling, and don’t bully her. A man should respect and love the women in the house. Okay?"

Xuanshen nodded with a smile and replied, "Yes, Baba, I will take care of everything. I will be strong."

Hao Ren nodded and said, "But don’t cage them. Women have to be left free, and only helped when they ask, well, you will understand when you handle it. Okay?"

Xuanshen smiled as he nodded before he replied, "Yes, Grandma also said the same thing."

It was evening when Hao Ren came back to the eastern courtyard and met with Han Lingshi, who came with Hao Mei in tow. Hao Mei looked at Hao Ren with a gaze that was not exactly ’Happy to see you’.

He didn’t bother with it at the moment, because his mind was focused on handling the children. Han Lingshi came over and took the twins in her arms. She also spent some time with them, and Hao Mei took Hao Ren to the side and asked, "Why did you pick this path?"

Hao Ren understood that Han Lingshi must have told her about everything and so he said, "Mei, in this world where people are all running behind strength and power, they would stop at nothing. That governor from the last time, he is the proper example of this. They would start coming after the family as soon as they get a chance. This was not an isolated event. The reason I didn’t persuade you to come to the Battlefield earlier was not my understanding but because after me and Lingshi, you are the strongest person in the world. That alone would deter the people.

However, now, Yin, Yang and Agnee are showing signs of breaking through the world realm. They might be young but they are not naive. They have made a name for themselves and the people are wary of them as well. This is why I was thinking if I should call you to come along.

This helplessness and the urgency that I feel to protect you all, is the reason why I picked this attribute. They might know about everything, but not the art of slaughter. They fear this word and they fear the people who even try to dwell on this even more. This fear is the foundation that I am laying for a peaceful world. This is why I took this path."

Hao Mei sighed, she understood what he was talking about, things worked like this only. After taking a few minutes, and took a deep breath and replied, "I understand, but you better be careful about this."

Hao Ren nodded and he replied, "Yes, I will be, don’t worry."

The couple spent the night sleeping with the children and in the morning the trio departed after greeting the people.

Hao Ren and the two appeared in the Floating Palace, and Xiao Mei appeared before them instantly. The Young man asked, "What is going on?"

Xiao Mei replied, "Boss, Ye Peng sent a distress signal. They had several attacks, and some disciples have really gotten injured."

Hao Ren took a deep breath and asked, "What the heck is going on?"

Xiao Mei shook her head and replied, "The attacks started several hours ago. I am not sure how it is going on now."

Hao Ren waved his hand and then he vanished from the surroundings. His eyes had already turned red because of rage. His speed was so quick that he reached the city within a moment. Hao Ren narrowed his gaze, looked around and found a proper demon army sieging the city. The young man took a deep breath and looked inside the city. The formation wall had cracks and there were several people inside the walls who were bandaging themselves.

Hao Ren vanished from the void and came inside the city, he was a human so he could move through the array with ease, located Ye Peng, and then said, "Everyone okay?"

Ye Peng nodded and replied, "Yes, everyone is fine, they have some injuries but nothing major."

Hao Ren sighed and said, "The communication broke and Xiao Mei got anxious. What happened?"

Ye Peng sighed and replied, "The defense array cracked under the constant waves of attacks by the Demon Generals, as of the communication, well I might have took down the tower in frustration. Jian and the rest also had waves of attacks keeping them busy."

Hao Ren sighed and reached out to grab Ye Peng from the back of his neck. He found that the man was not infected and let him go before he turned to look outside the city. He vanished from the surroundings and then he appeared outside the city. It took him nothing more then a few minutes, and the entire mess had been cleaned up. He understood why these things managed to hold back his people. The demons were using arrays to counter the defenses set up by the Ye Generals and since the humans had no knowledge of this, they suffered.
