Chapter 588: Venturing Out.

Hao Ren dealt with the enemy that was hidden in the distance, but he knew that it was not going to be that simple, that he needed to investigate even more before he could reach a conclusion. This world set his instincts off, and he always felt a faint presence around him that didn’t hold good intentions.

Thinking about it, he suddenly closed his eyes while he sat in the pavilion of the Floating Palace, and merged his consciousness with the Eternal reward list. He began to browse, and he didn’t know how long have passed before he managed find a simple book. This book was called, ’The records of the eternal battlefield.’

It cost a whopping ten thousand merit counts. The young man sighed as he replied, "I have no idea what to say. Some people are really pretentious."

However, he didn’t spend the money on it. This book was same as the one Jana had told him about when they were fighting in this world. The young man sighed and replied, "It seems I would need to do some old fashioned beat the shit out of them to get some answers."

As he was mumbling to himself, Han Lingshi came in the room. She had a tired expression on her face and said, "God, fighting these things is not easy. Even if Xiao Si is guarding me, I feel so exhausted."

Leo smiled and replied, "That is because you want to do better than yourself."

Han Lingshi smiled and remarked, "Glib Tongue."

Hao Ren stood up from his chair, and came beside her, where he took off her shoes, and then he began to massage her feet. Han Lingshi sighed and relaxed as she said, "You have magic in your hands."

The young man just smiled and kept doing what he was doing. His mind was focused on massaging the feet in his hands. He was gentle but his fingers applied pressure that reached the depth of the tissue and caused Han Lingshi to even moan and shiver at times. Hao Ren finished after twenty minutes before he stood up and said, "Shall I give you a shoulder massage as well?"

The young lady asked him, "What is going on? It has been so long since you gave me such a pampering treatment."

Hao Ren chuckled and said, "Why do you think that I am doing this specially?"

Han Lingshi smiled and looked deeply in the eyes of the young lady, "So, love, how long have I been married to you?"

Hao Ren was stunned but then he replied, "Around forty years, give or take five years."

Then Han Lingshi replied, "Now, out with it."

The young man sighed and replied, "What can I say, well I want to go out and venture a few things."

Han Lingshi nodded with a smile on her face before he replied, "Fine, go on, just take the portable teleportation array with you, and carry some extra spirit stones on you."

Hao Ren nodded and Han Lingshi replied, "The spiritual energy flow in this world is rather shallow."

The young man nodded as he stood up and then turned his head around before he put his hands behind his back.

Hao Ren was flying all around randomly, it had been a month since the man came over. He had no idea where to start from. There was nobody to answer him, the Demon Generals would not speak, and the demon commanders, they would rather self destruct themselves then saying anything to a human. Hao Ren sighed and sat down on a boulder. He was looking around in various directions thinking which one shall he pick to go over. The situation was simply hopeless and just when he was thinking what was happening, suddenly he sensed a sensation in his right hand.

His snake tattoo that was given to him by Ulupi was burning. It was not hot or warm but it was burning. Hao Ren could tolerate the pain but he wanted to find out the answer why this was acting up so suddenly. Looking around he could not see anything special or out of the ordinary but he used his Yin and Yang eyes to see around once again and then he found a faint sign of Yin and Yang imbalance near him. The young man frowned, this was the veil of elements around a natural array.

Looking at the situation he found a few hundred or so boulders scattered around, thinking about it, Hao Ren was about to approach the place when he suddenly sensed someone and took a step back. Just ten meters away from him, a group of demons appeared. They all wore red robes, and resembled humans closely. They were smaller in size than the last guy he fought but they were stronger.

The demons were shocked to find a human in the region, and they immediately took out their weapons. Hao Ren smiled and looked them in the eye before he said, "Hello, can you tell me what is this place?"

The skill worked and one of the Demons replied, "Forbidden Graveyard."

The rest of the demons were shocked and one of them charged at Hao Ren, causing the latter to waved his hand. The Demon was cut into two from his waist and his torso toppled over because of the momentum. The young man turned to look at the demon who had answered him, and asked, "How do you get in?"

This demon had been put under Hao Ren’s spell, thus he answered the first question. Now the second question was asked, to which the demon replied, "Pour the blood of seven royals and you will find a gate that would lead you inside."

Hao Ren raised his brow and counted, they were seven demons, including the one groaning on the ground. He asked, "Do you need to be alive to open the door?"

The demon shook his head and then Hao Ren just killed them in one swipe. After the people were decapitated, he reached out to use the spiritual energy and drew their blood out of their bodies and placed it all in big jade bottles. Then he burned them to ashes and scattered them in the void. After this was done, he moved towards the first boulder in sight, he could tell this was the outer layer of the barrier because of the energy imbalance in the surroundings.

He controlled seven drops of blood and dropped them on the boulder. Then the entire void trembled for a bit before revealing a small passage through it. Hao Ren tried to probe but he could not see anything inside, and so he took a step ahead and moved inside the opening with the void repairing itself behind him.

On the other side of the portal Hao Ren found a place which looked no different from the Eternal Battlefield outside, but it had a higher degree of spiritual energy in the surroundings. The young man frowned, he had no idea what this place was. It didn’t feel like a graveyard at all. Thinking about the situation, he walked ahead cautiously.

Hao Ren was a strong man but he was not crazy enough to grow over confident. The young man walked for around ten kilometers, before he stumbled upon a place that looked like a blood pond. He frowned, this place was malicious. It was brimming with malicious energy, he saw a few figures sitting in the blood ponds and wisps of energy circulating around them. The young man realized that these demons were all cultivating. With the seven people he had killed outside, there were seven people inside the pool.

He thought to himself, "Seems like this place is a cultivation holy land for these royal demons."

Then thinking about it, he decided to kill them and then he would turn this place upside down. He pinched the void with his right hand and left hand. The sword intent he conjured was very shallow but it was enough to kill the demons who were engrossed in cultivation. Hao Ren let out the attack and killed the demons with quick move. Their bodies fell lifeless inside the pond. Hao Ren approached the pond and decided to vaporize the pond when the system said, *Do you know thermodynamics and rules of physics? Energy conversion and stuff? Do you think you would be able to evade if the energy transferred from this liquid turned into gaseous state?*

Hao Ren paused in his actions and then he sighed before he said, "What am I supposed to do about this thing?"

The system said, *You can disrupt the array after you have determined what this place actually is and that is that.*

Hao Ren sighed and replied, "Fine, what if there is a demon convoy who tries to come in or something? I don’t want to expose my back to them."

The system retorted, *Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Go fight for it you bum*
