Chapter 587: Hidden Enemies and Long Battles Ahead.

Hao Ren heard the notification and then he smiled as he looked at the people standing beside him and said, "Boys and girls, let’s go and show the newcomers what is life looks like in the Eternal Battlefield."

The Ye Generals and their disciples from the first batch cheered before they all vanished and appeared outside the city. They didn’t want to have the demons come in contact with the array unless it was necessary. Hao Ren didn’t take part in the battle, he was now a Heavenly Commander, the only value for him was to confront a demon commander but since it was a raid on their city he doubted there would be any Demon Commander leading the charge.

He stood on the wall with Han Lingshi and the rest of the newcomers and he said, "The way of battle here is not confrontation but more like a seige. You try to defend yourself and kill the demons, they do the same if you try to raid their city. The one thing that everyone needs to keep in mind is to never bite more than what you can chew. These demons although are not good when fought alone, but they are sneaky. In the past week, this is the fourth raid against us. We have recorded their fighting style and Xiao Mei will be giving you a technical break down and the best way to face them. So don’t worry, but don’t be too confident, it is one thing to know the enemy and it is another to counter them."

The people nodded, Hao Ren’s war prowess was something none could deny here, this man was a master at these things now. The young man sighed and replied, "So, now, the second task at hand is to follow the trail of the biggest shot caller in the pack. Look to the center of the demon pack. do you see that thing with a red jewel in his forehead?"

The people nodded and Hao Ren continued, "That thing is the demon general, and over a thousand demons their is a general. Over hundred generals there is a commander. Understood?"

The hierarchy had been explained simply, and then Hao Ren said something that surprised them all, "Those red things, you are not to touch them or to covet them. After killing the demon generals, you leave them alone. That jewel is a kind of energy that solidified after killing for ages. The reason you have to avoid that jewel is because once you touch it, it would corrupt your brain and thoughts. That is what we call demon infestation in simple language, and the only solution for that is death."

He knew that he could save them without killing them, however, to make sure that the people understand the gravity of the situation he threatened them. Then Hao Ren briefly described the scene where a huge number of the population was effected by the demonic energy and then killed the City Commander, also causing some trouble in the population. He didn’t tell them that he could have saved them, and said, "I killed those people, around seventy of them."

The people were stunned, they could not understand how Hao Ren did it, just then a roar echoed in the surrounding. Hao Ren raised his head to look at the horizon and found a sole figure whooshing through the void and he said, "Ye Jian, retreat, all of you."

The people accepted the command instantly and they flashed back. Hao Ren looked at Han Lingshi and replied, "I will be back in a bit, this is a big fish."

Han Lingshi smiled and said, "Go get him, tiger!"

Hao Ren looked in her eyes and then made a childish roar gesture before vanishing, the people were shocked to see that the man they all feared could act so coy before his wife. Hao Ren didn’t care on, he didn’t mind people looking at him with such an expression. He was only doing things to make his wife smile.

Hao Ren vanished from the city wall and appeared above the left overs of the demon army and then waved his hand to burn the demons into ashes. They didn’t even have the time to react before a cloud of flame engulfed them into oblivion.

After a few moments a black humanoid came to stand before Hao Ren. This person looked very close to a human apart from a physique that was taller than a normal human. The demon commander, he had a crown of blood red energy that solidified above his head. He looked at Hao Ren and spoke in a hoarse voice, "You, are going to die."

Hao Ren smiled, "But not before you."

He waved his hand and created a ravine in the void. The demon commander was shocked, he had no idea how but this human before him attacked him with a power that was ten times greater than him. The demon Commander raised his hands and crossed them before his chest, and the next moment, a sword wave collided with him. The pain that ran through his body was unreal. The demon commander could not believe it.

Hao Ren moved, he appeared behind the demon Commander and dropped a simple punch right onto the spinal cord. The demon commander who was reeling in from the sword wave, trying to avoid it was flung directly into the sword wave, the next moment, his body split apart from the middle.

However, Hao Ren knew that it was far from over, because the split body came together and began to gel up. Hao Ren took a deep breath and watched the demon repairing himself, however, the young man didn’t come here to watch a movie so he just moved again and this time he plunged his hand inside the chest of the demon and then he channeled his flame to the highest level he could without causing it to freeze his cells.

The demon commander was shocked and he roared in pain, because Hao Ren was literally burning him inside out, and that was not only painful but humiliating as well. The demon was literally shocked. He could not believe that his body was destroyed like this and not only that the flames even consumed his soul and the last trace of consciousness that he had attached to the blood crown was also burned completely.

To think that a demon commander a being that rose through the ranks with killing and terror, was dealt within three moves and that too killed without having a chance to attack back, this was something really shocking for him, but he was dead already so the shock had no value.

Hao Ren shook his head and replied, "No, I have no wish to deal with this fucking thing. The energy in this is so negative that it is nothing but sinful. I don’t want to waste my time into something like this."

Then he channeled his flame into the crown and caused it to melt and vanish from the world as it vaporized. The young man took a deep breath and flicked his hand twice before he turned around to look at the surroundings before he took turned around to go back to the city wall. The reason he was looking around was to make sure that no one was hiding in the void, he used his Yin and Yang eyes for that.

As he was moving back to the city suddenly he stopped, and turned to look at the west direction where he sensed a gaze was locked onto him. Hao Ren pinched his fingers together and concentrated the sword intent between his fingers. He was no longer in the need of a sword, the level of his sword mastery has reached the level where he was the sword himself.

With the pinch of sword energy, he aimed the hand towards the west and then let it go. The people only heard a whistle and then the sword intent flew through the void, and after a few moments, the people heard a loud wail from that direction. Followed by which a bold threat, "Human, you will pay for it!"

Hao Ren pinched the void again and said, "Are you sure you want to talk to me in that tone, you coward?"

That was it, he released the void and a sword intent shot through with the same intensity but this time there was no scream just silence. Finally after sighing, Hao Ren went back to the city wall, and held Han Lingshi’s hand as he said, "Looks like we have a long battle waiting for us."

Han Lingshi nodded and said, "Don’t worry, I will be helping you with it."

The two of them smiled and turned to look in the direction where Hao Ren had attacked and hurt the hidden stalker. They were waiting for the battle.
