Chapter 583: Rise & Despair.

Hao Ren and his killing machine moved quickly through the lands. The situation for the next seven months stayed the same. Hao Ren went home in the breaks but then he came back with smiles because meeting his children did give him a break from the stressful campaigning in the Eternal Battlefield. Han Lingshi was taking the leveling up to the heavenly realm slowly, she was keeping track of how many people have reached this level in the empire.

Seven months were enough for her to gather a hundred people who managed to cross the threshold of the Heavenly realm. They were all saints as well. However, they still needed some training before they could go to the Eternal Battlefield because the first people would be soldiers and the reason people needed to come around was because they were going to face demons right off the bat.

Hao Ren and the rest have stopped killing Demon Soldiers, they targeted demon generals. They have all reached the barrier that separated Heavenly General and Heavenly Commander realms.

Their growth have slowed down so they unanimously took the role of scouts and allow Hao Ren to earn merit. Jana was shocked by this but he didn’t say anything after all, he didn’t know what the reason behind it was, he had never seen anyone so devoted. It was the last time when Hao Ren came back from the Crescent Moon Empire. On the other side, Han Lingshi was about to breakthrough to the heavenly realm and so he decided that he would also use up the farmed points to breakthrough to the heavenly commander realm.

The bottleneck didn’t last for long, Hao Ren was about to breakthrough and condense a crystal core from the thousand True Essence crystals that were hanging in his dantian. Hao Ren closed his eyes and then focused on gathering the spiritual energy from his body to melt the true essence crystals and then mold them into a core. However, it was not that simple. The Titan Cultivation technique had unlocked another level, and it needed him to carve the Dao Runes that he had carved on his saint halos. This will increase his strength by ten times, imagine if he had this power, he would be able to slay a demon commander with a slap even though he was just a Heavenly Soldier.

Layer by layer, the core grew bigger and every layer was covered with Dao Runes. The layers of true essence that were used here happened to be as thin as the wings of a cicada. Hao Ren carved the runes of dao upon those layers and when he did that, he was calm and serene in his mind.

Outside, time was passing day by day, and soon, a month had passed, it was only after the constant turmoil and toiling for a month that Hao Ren managed to form his core, and the moment he finished the clouds gathered in the void. Jana was sitting outside the ruined city.

The eternal battlefield was a place akin to a dessert however, the cities were different, they had trees, and sources of waters. How that worked was beyond their comprehension but it gave them everything they might need to live a normal life inside a city. Jana raised his head and smiled as he said, "He has finally reached the level of a Heavenly Commander."

He was happy to have this guy reach this level, and he was anticipating the level of strength Hao Ren might have achieved by now. He heard a brushing sound behind him and turned around to see Hao Ren walking over with his hands beside him. The layer of dust was wiped away, and Jana looked at Hao Ren’s eyes only to be shocked. The depth of a person’s eyes changes when they have experienced something enlightening. He was curious now, but could not ask because it was a taboo.

Hao Ren didn’t say anything, just nodded to the man before he appeared far away in the void, ready to face his tribulation.

The game and the rules were the same but the difficulty had increased. This time it was not one lightning soldier who attacked him in the first tribulation bolt it was a group of ten. However, Hao Ren stepped up and faced them all with great courage.

Ye Generals and everyone else gathered together, they looked at Jana and found that the man was shocked. The intensity of the shock was so much that he had forgotten to breath, Ye Si nudged Ye Peng with her elbow and the latter patted Jana on the back, only then did the man take a deep breath and spoke with a stutter, "This is ten times bigger than the tribulation I had to face, what is going on."

Ye Si shrugged and said, "It is a simple math thing Elder Jana, Big Brother has a core that is ten times stronger than you. This is why his tribulation is ten times bigger too. Thankfully he had not cursed the heavens for being a pussy or it might have reached a higher level as well."

Jana knew this but he just could not believe this. After all, all the effort that he put in was being disregarded now, his Dao Heart was shivering, and Ye Jian sensed it and said, "Elder Jana, the sin of comparison gives birth to demons. You have always been happy with your own level and efforts, that self contention is not something that can be easily achieved. And are you really willing to give it all up for just this moment? This one fleeting thought? Do you think Young Master cared when you were stronger than him? He has always been aware that he has his own path and same for you, you should focus on your own path and not fall in despair by comparing with someone who never even bothered about the world. Get a grip of yourself!"

The last line was a harsh scolding and it woke up Jana from his despairing thoughts. The man sat down on the ground and took deep breaths before he looked at Ye Jian and said, "Thank you for your timely rescue this time, Daoist Ye Jian."

Ye Jian shook his head and replied, "Don’t worry, the pain of a broken Dao Heart is far too much for anyone to bear. That is why I am telling you to never bother about things that you cannot control and are not yours."

Jana nodded, he didn’t mind if this group of people were below him in terms of realm, because he knew they were very wise all of them.

After an hour Hao Ren finished the tribulation and came back to Jana before he asked, "Do we need to go and face off with that punk in the North Star City now?"

Jana said, "You can take a few days to consolidate your realm and then challenge him. That man has been the commander for ten years now, so he might have an advantage."

Hao Ren waved his hand to the side and a ravine appeared. The action was laxed but the impact caused Jana to realize who he was talking to, so he nodded and said, "Fine then let’s go now."

Hao Ren nodded and waved his hand again to repair the ravine as they turned around to walk away.
