Chapter 1509 810: Hank's Breakdown (Part 2)

Hank nodded, not speaking, the papers in front of him were sparse, but he didn't lift his eyes to look at Jimmy, only his hands were trembling slightly.

Jimmy continued: "Walter was diagnosed with lung cancer last year, the cancer isn't covered under general insurance, he was just a high school teacher before, occasionally working part-time as a cashier at a car wash, his income wasn't high. And with little Walter's illness, he wasn't well-off, yet he completed early-stage cancer treatment last year, successfully suppressing the spread of cancer. For his income and insurance coverage, it shouldn't be enough to cover these expenses currently."

Hank murmured: "He's a genius, he calculated the probability of poker card draws by himself and won it back at the casino."

Jimmy: "Do you really believe what you're saying now?"

Hank didn't say anything, keeping his head down, Jimmy spoke again: "A regular high school teacher, with no other income, completing cancer treatment, post-birth expenses for his daughter, buying the car wash, all within less than a year, how much does this cost?"

Hank looked up and glared at Jimmy, his expression slightly fierce. Jimmy softly said to Hank: "Furthermore, I asked around in the office, your treatment costs are partially covered by insurance, but... your physiotherapy expenses are very high, and based on your income..."

Hank gritted his teeth and growled: "Don't say anymore!"

Jimmy ignored Hank and continued: "Gale should be one of Gus's group's drug chemists, after Walter's small-scale blue meth production, they used some means to bring Walter into the team, using their large lab to start manufacturing drugs, so the blue meth spread extensively. Later, for some reasons we don't know yet, Gale, the former chemist, was killed, Walter now should be the drug chemist for this cartel, which explains why he has so much money, knowing the raw materials for drug production are very expensive."

Jimmy stopped speaking, simply looking at Hank. Hank couldn't help but breathe heavily, after a while, he calmed down and shouted loudly, "Mary! Mary! Come to the bedroom."

Mary came in holding Holly, "What's wrong?"

Hank smiled and said to her, "My hospital bills, Jimmy wants to take a look."

Mary looked at Jimmy in surprise: "Why?"

Jimmy smiled and said: "Just to look."

Mary nodded in confusion, turned around and left, after a while returned with a stack of envelope bills and handed them to Hank.

Hank waved to Mary with a smile, and once Mary was gone, he immediately put away his smile and opened the envelope to inspect the bills.

Physical therapy treatment and hospital medical expenses, monthly expenditures of tens of thousands, most were uncovered by insurance, Hank and Mary couldn't come up with these amounts in a short time, yet the bills showed they had been paid successfully.

Hank looked up at Jimmy, "Maybe he really did win it through gambling, he's so honest, maybe he doesn't lie..." While speaking, Hank gradually lowered his voice, knowing full well there was a big problem here, but before he hadn't doubted Walter's family's explanation, maybe subconsciously believing Walter couldn't be involved in anything criminal.

Jimmy saw Hank had accepted what he'd just said, only then did he open his briefcase and hand over some photos to Hank: "These were taken after three consecutive days of surveillance, Walter goes to the car wash with Skye every morning, then drives to this laundry factory and stays for four or five hours. Although the timing isn't always fixed, undeniably it's very regular.

If I'm guessing right, that drug lab should be inside the laundry factory, maybe they're using the factory's numerous equipment, chemical smells, or other methods as cover to manufacture drugs. Of course, it's also possible the drug equipment is directly in the factory building."

Hank stared at the photos in his hand, the lower right corner had a timestamp, images recorded a car entering and exiting the laundry factory gates at different times, although he couldn't see the people in the car, Hank recognized the car and its license plate.

Hank lowered his voice, his expression becoming very fierce, "You go out... Get out!"

Jimmy picked up his briefcase and stood up, "Last word, Hank, do you remember someone calling you before you were attacked? Think about it, isn't everything connected? Now, you need to calm down, don't do anything difficult. I'll head back. Goodbye."

Having said that, Jimmy turned and left Hank's bedroom, leaving Hank alone staring at the photos in a daze.

After saying goodbye to Mary and playing with little Holly, Jimmy smiled as he opened the door and left Hank's house, standing by his car and lighting a cigarette, smoking while watching Hank inside.

Hank's reactions were still within Jimmy's expectations, after all, he and Walter were relatives, and both families were very close, as evident from little Holly staying with Mary during the day. Moreover, Walter had paid hundreds of thousands for Hank's treatment costs, even if there was trouble with the money, Walter's willingness to pay for Hank can't be denied, even risking discovery by Hank wasn't easy.

Hank was a seasoned senior DEA agent, having investigated the blue meth case for a year, during which he'd certainly leaked related information to Walter. Even if unintentionally, it's still misconduct, he couldn't not have considered this layer.

He needed to protect his family, not just himself and Mary, but also Skye and little Holly, little Walter and others. Walter made so much money from drug production, Skye and the others surely suspected, but were all convinced by Walter's gambling story as desperate reason. Now that Hank had realized the flaw here, he needed to consider others too.

There's also a crucial point, Jimmy currently didn't have solid evidence, clearly coming to Hank soon after getting the news. He must think clearly about how to handle it afterwards, amidst the chaos in his mind, sending Jimmy away was subconsciously a self-protection move.

Having finished smoking, Hank hadn't made any moves, Mary was still in the living room holding Holly, evidently Hank couldn't make up his mind for the moment. Jimmy got in his car and drove away from Hank's house, heading back near the laundry factory.

In the previously surveilled car was another confirmed target, Jesse also appeared at the laundry factory, and left around the same time as Walter, just with differences in entry timing. This time Jimmy intended to directly follow Jesse to see the situation.

Jimmy needn't worry about Hank's side, even if Hank was puzzled, he wouldn't reveal Jimmy had discovered Walter's involvement in meth production.

Hank was principled, hardly a dirty cop, Jimmy didn't want him caught up in this by the brother-in-law, Walter had terminal lung cancer, could go to Hell anytime, can't drag down a promising senior DEA agent.

Following Jesse wasn't difficult, his counter-surveillance awareness evidently wasn't strong, just switched a few roads at some intersections and drove straight home, allowing Jimmy to successfully chart his route from home to the laundry factory, with photos archived.

Next was trying to identify the cars transporting drugs out of the laundry factory. Jimmy didn't believe others could quickly resolve this matter, he could only do it himself, changing clothes and lurking next to the laundry factory's basement lab. Once someone was seen transporting things out, it'd basically confirm their drug trafficking route.
