Chapter 1357 1357: 735

Chapter 1357 1357: 735

Caitlin absolutely doesn't buy Alejandro's excuse that just because they've worked together, they need to investigate an FBI agent's background. Who's he trying to fool?

Unless Jimmy did something that might pose a threat to him. They all come from the front lines of the CIA, she knows exactly what they're thinking, but even though their call was on a secure line, it's still inconvenient to discuss too much over the phone.

Caitlin: "Really? Since you guys have worked together, you should know how important he is to us. I hope your cooperation goes smoothly."

Alejandro: "Our cooperation has been very pleasant. May I ask what your previous cooperation was about?"

Caitlin: "Have a wonderful evening, Agent Gomez."

Caitlin didn't say much, her phone call clearly showed her stance. If anything unexpected happens again, so be it.

Alejandro sat on the sofa staring at his phone, this matter was becoming increasingly strange. The person he contacted obviously missed this intel. Jimmy and the company had contacts and even worked together, but it wasn't public, just how many secrets does this Jimmy have?

Caitlin is the head of the Anti-Terrorism Bureau, her information is quite easy to check. Even without CIA resources, Alejandro found a lot of information and could confirm that the person who contacted him should be her, and he had to reconsider his next steps.

He had clearly denied to Jimmy that he had leaked any intel, so there's no way he'd go to Jimmy to admit his mistake face-to-face. He had to consider remedial measures.

Jimmy and his team went to Juarez to rescue someone, though there was an accident later. That undercover agent was already killed by Victoria's men. Jimmy saw the person but couldn't bring back a corpse, so they had to return empty-handed. They pretended the explosion accident prevented them from continuing the task, and this became Alejandro's breakthrough.

Fortunately, Alejandro held an ace up his sleeve. He had asked Hunter to help inquire about whether they could bring people to identify the body. If possible, bringing back a body officially would suffice.

Although Hunter hadn't responded, Alejandro was certain Hunter would help pass the message. Now, he just needed to confirm whether the body was still there or had been destroyed.

Checking the time, Alejandro couldn't worry too much now. Jimmy said they'd stay here for another day or two, time was very tight. He directly dialed Hunter's anonymous number. Luckily, it got connected quickly.

Hunter was reliable. He was sure the body was still there. Since his contact was not high-level enough, the decision-maker from Sinaloa hadn't agreed, so nothing was finalized, and Alejandro hadn't been contacted to arrange for the body identification.

Alejandro: "That's great, Hunter, help me reach out to them. Find a way through normal channels to send the body to Albuquerque."

Hunter raised his voice: "Are you crazy? How do you plan on sending a gunshot victim's body back legally? It doesn't even have identity proof!"

Alejandro: "It's important, Hunter. You absolutely don't want anything unexpected to happen, think of something."

Hunter: "What really happened? Shark, this totally isn't like you."

Alejandro was silent for a few seconds, and Hunter didn't rush him. This matter needed a clear explanation to avoid exposing Hunter, they had to be sure it was worth it.

After thinking it through, Alejandro said: "Ghost intercepted us at the hospital entrance, but he only chatted with the Butcher briefly. And when we returned to Albuquerque, the Butcher came after me."

The receiver emitted a sharp breath, Hunter said: "He figured it's you?"

Alejandro: "Plus, he's familiar with the company folks, worked together several times. Just a little investigation got me a high-level warning call."

Hunter seemed stumped, "So, we have to do this?"

Alejandro: "Yes, you know his capabilities. If it weren't necessary, I wouldn't risk your exposure by handling this matter."

Hunter: "Understood. You said Ghost talked briefly with Butcher, right? How did they look?"

Alejandro: "Looked good, Ghost seems to be a smart guy."

Hunter: "Got it, await my news."

Alejandro laid it all out, now wasn't the time for playing games. To reach his desired goal, there were still many things to be done.

Hunter was quite efficient. At 1 AM, just as Alejandro was resting, his phone rang, startling him awake as he answered, "Shark?"

Alejandro: "Who is this?"

"I'm Ghost, someone passed message that you wanted to see me?"

Alejandro was shocked, what was Hunter up to? "Yes, unfortunately didn't have the chance during the day."

Ghost's tone was flat, without much inflection, "Seems you were on scene too, well, see you tomorrow night then."

Alejandro quickly said: "Wait... I still have some matters to handle, will soon leave Albuquerque, might need to chat next time instead. But I hope you could do me a favor."

Ghost was surprised this Shark could still ask for more. Initially reliable as the middleman, he agreed to contact him, but Shark couldn't meet and still asked for extra conditions. Slightly agitated, he said, "So, Mr. Shark, what might I do for you?"
