Chapter 1339 - 726: Infiltrating the Outpost (Part 2)
Sitting in the adjacent hospital bed, Jimmy kept staring at the three of them. Jimmy was unfamiliar with all three, especially Javier, who claimed to be from the anti-gang unit, possibly a former subordinate of Ruiz. Whether he's reliable is still uncertain. Previously, everything was official action, so there's no need to worry — just proceed as normal. But now it's a private action, and if someone stabs us in the back, it'll be troublesome.
Jimmy took out his phone, not caring what time it was, and directly called Ruiz. He needed to verify Javier's identity with Ruiz. Thankfully, Ruiz was quick to answer even late at night. After hearing Jimmy's thoughts, he vouched for Javier, so there shouldn't be any issues.
Early the next morning, after checking on the three, Jimmy left the hospital, first buying a set of casual clothes to change into, before heading to the address Alejandro provided.
Parked by the roadside, Jimmy stared at a place offering private safety deposit box services. This was interesting. Jimmy had questioned Alejandro's identity before; now it seemed there was a big problem. Such preemptive actions of storing items in a safety deposit box were not DEA-like but rather CIA-like. So, why was he masquerading as DEA?
But this probably wasn't a trap. Tom used to store things in safety deposit boxes, including CIA backup items prepared for Jimmy, indicating such places had a strong sense of confidentiality.
Jimmy adjusted his sunglasses, opened the car door, and walked inside, entering the safety deposit box number and password Alejandro provided on a device, completing the verification smoothly.
Soon, a staff member brought out a metal box. In a cubicle, Jimmy glanced around, confirming no one was nearby and there was no surveillance in the cubicle, then opened the box. Inside was a Mexico passport and a complete set of personal documents including bank cards, along with some cash. Jimmy checked the photo, confirming it was Alejandro's, so this was his backup reserve.
Moving the documents aside, there were two Glocks, four spare magazines, and a silencer. Jimmy picked up a Glock, noting the gun's serial number had been handled, showing Alejandro's thorough preparation.
Without touching anything else, Jimmy only took a pistol, clipped the magazine and silencer to his belt, then closed the metal box and handed it back to the staff for storage.
A Glock with a silencer and two magazines was enough for Jimmy to use. Silencers are not used in normal FBI cases, but if Jimmy wants to handle some private affairs, a silencer is perfect.
During the Juarez cartel war, driving in the city required extreme caution. At red lights, cars kept a significant distance to quickly accelerate out of intersections prone to ambushes in case of emergencies, with even regular citizens maintaining such vigilance.
Jimmy was aware of this before arriving, so he kept a distance of at least two car lengths from the car in front, operating just like others, smoothly returning to the hospital.
After confirming in the ward that the three were fine, Jimmy said, "I think the situation is clear now. I hope you can use your connections to verify Victoria's location. No matter the channel, as long as you can locate her, that'll be good."
Alejandro nodded, "Already arranged, awaiting news."
Jimmy: "OK, what do you want to eat? I'll have it sent over."
At night, Jimmy changed back into casual clothes, keeping only the gun taken from Alejandro's deposit box, along with temporarily bought zip ties and gloves, and some masks picked up from the hospital, leaving like that.
During the day, Alejandro's side received an unconfirmed message, providing an address to a villa in Juarez's eastern suburbs, where someone reported seeing a strong woman resembling Victoria appear. This was the most promising location, but due to strong security in the villa area, confirmation was difficult, making it an unconfirmed message.
This was relatively good, at least more accurate than the official informants' vague club-like targets. Now it was at least residential information, a significant improvement, indicating Alejandro's possession of non-official intel, further affirming his identity.
Jimmy's primary goal remained the factory previously determined. According to earlier information, the abandoned factory had recently heightened security significantly, signaling something had happened or the possibility Juan was being imprisoned there, leading to its sealing from outside to prevent Juan's news from leaking.
Parking the car far away, hiding nearby, Jimmy directly headed to the target. This was the outskirts, lacking public lighting, with few vehicles on the road. Jimmy donned a hood and gloves, sprinting past quickly in darkness, minimizing conspicuousness.
Nearing the factory, Jimmy noticed two observation posts. They appeared too relaxed, just sitting in roadside cars. Someone like Jimmy could easily spot them and bypass them.
Plastering against the factory wall, Jimmy realized the previous information was incorrect, reporting only a dozen to twenty people, yet the portion observed alone was already a dozen.
Apart from those perched in corners, seven individuals were in one room, one in a corner, six busy at a long table. Judging by their actions and table items, they were likely packing drugs, otherwise needing such caution. The person in the corner seemed armed with a rifle, hand always resting on it.
This was only a portion of visible space. The factory area was large, with potentially more individuals unseen, complicating matters.
Unable to do much, Jimmy glanced around, took a few running steps, grabbed the wall top, flipped over, and crept toward the nearest post. Although relaxed, the opposite sensed something amiss when turning, immediately seized by Jimmy, head and jaw snapped, collapsing softly. Jimmy gently laid him down, minimizing noise to avoid disrupting subsequent actions.
The closest post to the room, Jimmy stealthily moved beside the room. Peeking through a closed window gap, though not seeing everything, the visible scene validated his guess. A person wearing a gas mask, naked, adjusting weight on an electronic scale with a small tool, then pouring into a transparent small bag, sealing, and placing aside.
Confirming the nature here, Jimmy let go, recognizing everyone present in such scenes as guilty.
Not directly alarming this room, Jimmy needed to locate Juan. He began checking for potential interrogation or detention rooms. But after circling, none seemed suitable; instead, confirming another drug-packing room and gang sleeping locations.
Unable to ascertain Juan's position, Jimmy planned a central eruption, creeping outside a lounge. Lightly twisting the handle, confirming it could open, carefully opened the door, greeted by a loud "Squeak~~~" sound.
FK, these bastards hadn't maintained the hinges for long. The door's noise turned heads instantly, leaving Jimmy no choice but to charge in, firing two shots at personnel inside. The silencer didn't fully cover the sound, the shots echoing in darkness alerting others.
Shooting dead inside opponents, Jimmy quickly moved, grabbing their freshly drawn gun, exiting. Already alerting others, he couldn't solely rely on the silencer's gun hereafter. His bullets were insufficient for one per person; he had to use what's available, uncertain in precision, but at least the bullets should suffice.
