Chapter 1340 - 727: Long Time No See

Chapter 1340 - 727: Long Time No See

The factory still had numerous buildings, but because it was so large, the gang members only organized two partitioned rooms, leaving the remaining rest and surveillance rooms scattered around. No one liked living together.

Jimmy was currently in one of these lounges, surrounded by five or six small and large lounges and offices. Additionally, there was a kitchen that seemed to be crafted with gas cylinders and simple cooking tools. The setup, though makeshift, was fully equipped.

Leaving the room, Jimmy hid again in the nearby shadows. To him, the people around were all visible at a glance. As long as they didn't have night vision goggles, they wouldn't spot him. His intention earlier was to grab someone and ask if they knew where the captured Seventeen was. Unfortunately, that broken door hinge was too rotten, making a loud noise.

If there's a chance with the remaining people, he still needed to interrogate them. His goal was to rescue, not to kill.

Two men approached, shouting a name while holding rifles. They were cautious, but not enough against Jimmy.

As they approached near Jimmy, he suddenly attacked from behind, twisting the back person's neck. He then leapt forward, tackling the front guy to the ground. As he reached to knock away the opponent's gun and subdue him, the man suddenly screamed. The piercing scream echoed far into the dark night, leaving Jimmy no choice but to act ruthlessly, silencing him with a "crack".

Though he could have controlled him, given that others were already alerted, Jimmy had very little time for interrogation. Even shooting or torturing to break arms or legs wouldn't necessarily get the needed information before others arrived.

The scream was much louder than Jimmy's silenced gunshots earlier. It was an obvious alarm, and people around quickly reacted. Some of them must have had walkie-talkies, as so many started moving promptly.

People in the adjacent partitioned room also began taking action, but they crouched down for cover instead of coming out.

Voices speaking Spanish were heard. Jimmy had learned some before, but the distance made it hard to decipher. Without a doubt, they noticed something unusual here.

Five people charged from one direction, three in front and two behind. That was a lounge-like house; when Jimmy reconnoitered, they were playing cards. Given their number, he didn't target them for control. Now that they charged over, it was time to send them off.

Jimmy waited in the shadows for them to run up. Suddenly, the lights turned exceedingly bright. Shocked, he looked at the nearby bulb, raised his hand and fired two shots to smash it. The running men spotted Jimmy's position, immediately ducking to the side and firing at his approximate location.

Jimmy didn't wait for them to get closer, lying on the ground, aiming at their position, and fired several shots. Two bullets hit cover, having no effect, but the remaining quickly took out a few of them.

Glancing at the magazine, Jimmy replaced it with a new one. These people were considerably more skilled than previous gangs he faced. Their timing for dodging and shooting was notably better. If he had delayed going prone a little longer, he might have been caressed by rifle bullets.

The gunfire sounded again and quickly ended. His allies hadn't communicated the situation yet, but people nearby stopped charging directly, instead holding their positions and then organized themselves to surround.

Jimmy sighed, realizing the higher the opponents' skill, the more troublesome it was for him since sparing some would be difficult. Plan for interrogation would likely have to wait until the end.

With the plan set, Jimmy loosened up. Those up front were definitely low-level cannon fodder who probably didn't know the information he needed. He moved towards the closest few, still hiding in the shadows. Now, additional installed lights throughout the factory were on, leaving Jimmy not much shadow to work with.

Walking for a while, nearing the opponents' position, Jimmy raised his hand and shot out two bulbs, making the space between them darker. However, there was still light behind the opponents, enough for them to see Jimmy, sparking an immediate gunfight.

The Juarez drug cartel was far better equipped than gangs; four people were in front, three with rifles and one with a handgun. The burst of suppressing fire pinned Jimmy behind cover, waiting for their shooting interval or magazine changes. He then quickly stood, fired four shots at the two in front, and bent down to run to the side.

Circling to the side, the opponents had reloaded, but with two of their numbers down, they dared not shoot recklessly, resulting in an awkward ceasefire between both sides.

Jimmy scanned his surroundings, aimed at a light behind them, fired, and as darkness followed, he sprinted sideways. Only upon reaching the back side of the two did he shoot them down.

Normally, the human eye needs time to adjust to changes in light levels, but Jimmy had already switched to Heart Eye Vision when he shot the bulbs, rendering light changes ineffective on him. Naturally, he reacted much faster than the two.
