Chapter 1282 700: Operation (Part 2)

Additionally, he needs to contact another person. Since he has already been exposed, it's likely the other person has been exposed too. Contacting in advance to confirm can help him determine his subsequent itinerary, and perhaps they can escape together. This way, they can look out for each other on the road, and even when sleeping, one can stand guard—safer than being alone.

Frank made a call to the other person but couldn't say much over the phone, just arranged to meet in the evening. That's why he sets off early to meet his companion, and only after that will he proceed to the smuggling route they had agreed on. The time agreed upon was very late; such a thing should definitely be done after midnight, avoiding detection before then, which could affect their subsequent operations.

Previously, he was a bit anxious when the road was blocked; he had two urgent tasks to complete tonight. If there were delays due to unforeseen events, it could cause a chain reaction, resulting in an irreparable disaster for him.

Fortunately, he has passed through the blockade and successfully left the city. If there are no surprises, he should be safe tonight.

Driving, Frank checks the rearview mirror, observing that several cars have already changed at the back. If it were the FBI, they wouldn't have enough manpower to maintain such tracking capabilities, so that's essentially ruled out.

However, for safety's sake, Frank did not drive directly to his companion's location. Since there's still ample time, arriving early would mean waiting there, and lingering at one spot for long is quite dangerous for him, even if just encountering a patrolling police officer at night.

After some twists and turns on the road, he glances at the time—only a dozen minutes left until the agreed time. At the upcoming intersection, Frank directly turns on the signal and makes a U-turn. After driving a short distance, he suddenly notices a car on the opposite lane without headlights, just running on the road. He merely takes a glance, raises an eyebrow in surprise, marveling at how some people aren't afraid of death, without thinking much else.

Jimmy watches Frank cross paths with him. Instead of immediately making a U-turn on the road, he drives while turning his head to watch Frank, ensuring he doesn't turn to look at them. Only then does he make a U-turn at the next intersection, turns on the headlights, and accelerates to catch up.

Tracking in such a situation is most feared because if the person ahead suddenly makes a U-turn and encounters the tracker, any minor movement could alert the target. Thus, Jimmy had made no moves previously. After turning the vehicle around, turning on the headlights ensured a different appearance from before.

With the lights off, Jimmy is confident the other party hasn't had a chance to catch the license plate number. Regarding the vehicle model, there are many SUVs, always some that are similar. Now that a car with headlights is appearing at the back, the other party wouldn't be too worried.

Agent Morrison and his team were also following behind; however, as per Jimmy's request, they maintained a distance from Jimmy, and had their sirens and lights off to avoid alerting Frank.

Soon, Frank enters a residential district on the north side of Parkville, driving all the way to the repair shop they had agreed upon. Watching Frank pull his car into the repair shop, the gate was closed by the people inside; only then did Jimmy inform Morrison to come quickly.

Morrison's car quickly stopped behind Jimmy's car. "Yang, any movement?"

Jimmy: "No, Frank has entered the repair shop. There's no movement inside yet. Hope has gone to check if there are other entrances or exits to the repair shop, but hasn't reported back yet."

Morrison gestured to the back, and two agents walked over. "Scout out the area; the moment Frank appears, launch an offensive at them."

Jimmy: "Wait, you can't attack directly. If Frank comes out alone, he'll definitely continue looking for his escape route. That's our opportunity. As for the ambush, you can wait until he's gone."

Morrison shook his head: "No, if he leaves, then there won't be direct evidence against the people inside the repair shop. It'll be very difficult to convict them."

There was nothing Jimmy could do. Everyone here was under Morrison's command. No one would listen to him. He wanted to pull off something big, but these people were only concerned with the credit they could gain.

The two agents left. Just after one or two minutes, gunfire suddenly rang out nearby. A voice came through the walkie-talkie: "Shots fired, we've been discovered."

Morrison was shocked, didn't respond, and immediately yelled to the back, "Go!" Then he shouted into the walkie-talkie: "Hold on, we're coming now."

He finished shouting, drew his gun, and ran to the back to support those two agents. As for the front entrance, it could be left to the SRT and another two agents. Jimmy also drew his Glock and followed Morrison, sprinting to the side of the repair shop to provide support. With more people at the front entrance, he wasn't worried.

The SRT team had already received Morrison's request earlier to start combat preparations. Now that they have his directive, they rush to the front door of the repair shop.

The armored vehicle charges towards the gate, smashing it open in one go. The SRT units are trained in vehicle assault operations, so regardless of poor lighting conditions, the five SRT members enter the yard of the repair shop under the cover of the special forces armored vehicle.

"FBI, raise your hands and surrender." The loudspeaker of the armored vehicle amplifies the agent's shout, and soon gunfire erupts.

As the gunfire rings out, Jimmy and his team arrive at the alley behind. An agent near the corner intermittently fires inside, while another agent is lying on the ground, inching towards the entrance. From Jimmy's observation, it seems he's been shot in the leg.
