New World with Four Husbands

Chapter 415: Continuous bleeding

Chapter 415: Continuous bleeding

"Are you okay, Coco?" Zaque asked, his palm softly rubbing Coco’s back as she hunched over the table, her face buried in her arms.

When Zaque got close to Coco, she was brought to reality and what earlier flashed before her eyes.

She immediately felt her face get warm so she didn’t have any choice, but to hide her face from prying eyes and stay silent until she calmed down.

However, due to that kiss being her very first kiss.

She couldn’t help, but felt like her opportunity got snatched away just like that.

She didn’t expect anyone or one of the four mediators to do something like that so she was really astonished when Alhai kissed her as if it was nothing.

The two of them stayed still, lips pressed awkwardly against each other until Alhai moved.

He cleared his throat, backed away, picked up the book off the floor, placed it on the table, and walked out of the kitchen, stiff movement and all, as if something was pressing down on his body.

Coco wasn’t in the right mind to question at that moment so she could only stare at the wall, eyes wide.

"Coco? Coco? Stay here, okay?" Zaque said, his eyebrows furrowing in concern. "I’ll go and make something for you to drink— something that will help you calm down and clear your mind."

Coco didn’t respond and just nodded her head, not trusting her voice to work.

She should be annoyed— mad even, because Alhai kissed her without permission.. Yet, here she is, feeling like she wanted to kick her feet because of the bubbling warmth blooming within her stomach and chest.

Not to mention, her face still felt warm.

Am I blushing?

Coco wondered, her lips forming a line as she pursed them, the thought simply making her bury her face further into her arms.

Oh, goodness.. I hope not. She thought, groaning as she slumped more against the table.

"I don’t know where Heiren put the tea leaves." Zaque stated, his voice loud enough for Coco to hear. "I’ll be back, okay? I’ll just ask him where he put them."

Once again, Coco nodded her head and Zaque could only let out a quiet sigh through his nose.

At least she’s responding through actions.. It would have worried him even more if she didn’t respond to any of his words and remained quiet in her spot.

Zaque exited the kitchen after he placed the kettle on the stove and turned it on.

He walked through the hall and was about to ascend the staircase to go to Heiren’s room, but he stopped when he heard Quizen’s muffled voice coming from the first floor’s bathroom.

Raising an eyebrow, Zaque took a step back and changed his destination.

"Quizen?" Zaque called out, swerving on the corner and went straight to the bathroom’s door that was left wide open. "Are you alright, Quizen?"

He peered inside, blinking owlishly.

However, the sight before shot a chill down his spine and caused his face to go pale.

"Alhai!" He cried out, his voice rising in volume.

Quizen and Heiren both scrambled to get up on the floor as Zaque rushed inside the now cramped bathroom, both of them stepping back inside the tub so Zaque could fit beside the hunched Alhai.

"What happened?!" The first husband asked, his voice dripping with concern and was shaking with fear.

"Nothing." Alhai grunted out, his eyebrows furrowing.

"What do you mean nothing?! You’re bleeding!" Zaque exclaimed, his hands hovering on Alhai’s side, not sure where he should put them.

"I said it’s nothing." Alhai hissed and shrugged Zaque off him, his eyes squinting into a harsh glare.

The three worried mediators flinched at the tone Alhai used, but they were quick to glare back at him— torn between frustration and annoyance.

"You refuse to tell us how you ended up in this situation!" Heiren growled and pointed an accusing finger towards Alhai. "And you have the courage to have an inappropriate physical reaction while you’re bleeding! And you’re going to say it’s nothing?!"

"Inappropriate physical reaction?" Zaque wondered aloud, his eyes shifting downwards to Alhai’s lap.

His jaw slacked at the sigh of the prominent tent sitting on his trousers, his red eyes widening in both horror and disbelief. "Are you serious right now?"

"As if this situation isn’t embarrassing enough.. And you still have to point it out." Alhai mumbled, keeping his hand pressed on his nose, then glanced at them. "Can you all get out? I’m going to take a shower— and again, it’s not that serious."

Quizen didn’t have to be told twice, the sight on Alhai’s trousers was enough to make him silent.

He walked out of the bathroom, but he stopped in his tracks when he saw Coco approaching his spot, her face still flushed, but much more subtle compared to how she looked earlier.

"Coco?" Quizen called, a small smile emerging in his lips. "It’s a relief to see you up and walking—"

"Close the door!" Alhai yelled, making Quizen jump in his spot and make his words die down on his throat, his head whipping towards the bathroom door.

"Is Alhai okay?" Coco asked, her voice soft and loud enough of everyone to hear. "I heard from Lala that he was bleeding badly.. What happened?"

As if on cue, Lala popped out behind Coco’s hair, a large grin on her face while she waved a hand on Quizen.

At the sound of Coco’s words, Alhai took it upon himself to scramble to get up off the floor, not caring if he was making a mess with his nosebleed.

BAM!

"Alhai—" Zaque started, but he stopped when Alhai slammed the door shut.

Heiren and Zaque stared at Alhai’s back with wide eyes, the two of them were speechless at the strange behavior their friend was showing them.

"What’s wrong with you?" Heiren frowned, already fed up.

"Nothing is wrong with me, but I would highly appreciate it if you get out right now."
