Chapter 414: Alhai?!
Chapter 414: Alhai?!
Heiren halted in his tracks, his attention immediately captured by the unexpected sight before him.
Alhai, his hands gripping his nose tightly, knelt on the bathroom floor right beside the bathtub, his face scrunched up as he stared at the floor.
A steady flow of blood poured from his nostrils, staining the floor and his clothing with each passing second, the room fell eerily silent, all eyes fixated on Alhai and the extent of the bleeding.
Heiren’s gaze widened with concern and shock, the gravity of the scene hitting him like a wave.
Ring, ring, ring, ring!
The ringing sound of the fairy snapped Heiren out of his momentary stupor as a realization dawned on him, and he swiftly sprang into action.
In a flurry of concern, he rushed to Alhai’s side, his voice filled with worry as he exclaimed, "What happened?!"
The urgency in his tone was loud and clear as he dropped to his knees beside Alhai, gently reaching out to inspect the injury.
However, Alhai instinctively avoided Heiren’s touch, a frustrated groan escaping his lips.
"Don’t worry about me." The mediator insisted, his voice strained with discomfort. "Check on Coco. I think I might have made her uncomfortable."
Despite the pain he was clearly in, Alhai’s concern for Coco’s well-being outweighed his own discomfort and he winced as he continued to bleed, but his focus remained on something else.
Heiren met Alhai’s gaze, a look of puzzlement crossing his face.
"She’s fine!" He replied hurriedly, his eyebrows furrowing. "But what about you? What happened while we were away? Why are you bleeding?"
Heiren’s worry for Alhai was evident in his voice and it was evident that he was torn between tending to his friend’s injury and checking on their wife, but Zaque and Quizen are right by Coco’s side so she will be fine.
Alhai’s expression shifted, a look of contemplation and discomfort emerging in his face as he sat hunched over, holding his bleeding nose tightly.
However, the color of his face began to change, a noticeable red hue creeped up his cheeks.
It seemed that his contemplation was tinged with a hint of embarrassment or unease— Heiren couldn’t tell, but it was as if he was struggling to admit something or was hiding a secret.
The bleeding continued, staining his clothing and the floor with a persistent flow, but the redness in his face suggested that there was more to his current state than just the physical injury.
Heiren’s concern deepened as he observed the redness spreading across Alhai’s face.
"Why are you turning red?" He asked, his voice now heavy with suspicion. "Do I have to bring you to a doctor or something? Is the injury in your nose serious?"
Alhai merely shook his head, trying to suppress the rising warmth on his cheeks.
"No, no.. It’s not that serious." He gritted out between clenched teeth, but the redness remained, betraying his words.
Heiren’s gaze darted on Alhai’s blood stained hand, his expression hardening as he became increasingly suspicious.
Did.. Something between him and Coco?
A feeling of irritation flickered within him as he suspected that Alhai might have somehow taken the lead in interacting with Coco in his absence.
The sight of the blood and the stubborn redness on Alhai’s face fueled Heiren’s growing suspicion, his mind racing with unanswered questions, but he remained silent, his gaze locked on Alhai.
"What happened?" Heiren asked for the nth time, his voice is calmer now.
Alhai, instead of answering, turned his head to the side, hiding his face from Heiren’s view with his shoulders hunching slightly, shifting his position on the floor, positioning himself in a way that shielded his lower body from view.
This additional action only added to the suspicion that plagued Heiren, his puzzled expression deepening as he tried to make sense of Alhai’s behavior and the strange way he was sitting.
Surely, he didn’t.. Heiren couldn’t finish what he was thinking when his hand landed on Alhai’s shoulder, and with a sudden movement, he pushed him back.
Alhai’s body jerked and Heiren’s gaze immediately dropped to his lap where a prominent tent was now visible through the fabric of his trousers.
A mix of surprise and realization dawned on Heiren’s face, his eyes widening momentarily as the situation became clearer— the connection between Alhai’s blushing, the positioning of his body, and the tent forming in his lap finally came together in a moment of clarity for Heiren.
Heiren’s attention snapped back to Alhai, his voice filled with disbelief. "Are you seriously having an erection right now? Don’t tell me that you did something to Coco?!"
He could hardly believe the situation he found himself in, witnessing his friend struggling with a bloody nose and an unexpected arousal in the most inappropriate circumstances— not to mention, Coco.. Just what did Alhai do to Coco?!
Alhai’s response came in the form of a strained grunt, his voice tinged with both pain and embarrassment. "I can’t help it, okay?"
"Can’t help what?" Heiren hissed, his grip on Alhai’s shoulder tightening.
"Coco.. She.." He muttered, his words trailing off as he slowly recalled the incident that had led to his current state.
The memory of Alhai kissing Coco, unintentionally— the sight of her causing him to feel terrified, but having physical reactions, danced vividly behind his mind.
The recollection of the moment sent a fresh wave of heat rushing to his already flushed cheeks, and he paused, unable to continue what he was saying which only fueled Heiren’s growing frustration.
"Talk to me—" Heiren growled, but his words died on his lips when he heard the sound of approaching footsteps.
"Heiren?"
Someone called out, then Quizen’s head peered inside the bathroom, concern etched on his face.
Heiren’s irritation momentarily faded as he acknowledged Quizen’s presence, relief settling over him at the interruption, but Quizen’s face became pale when he saw Alhai’s situation.
The sight of Alhai clutching his bleeding nose had prompted an immediate panicked response from Quizen.
"Alhai?!"
