New World with Four Husbands

Chapter 389: An unexpected encounter

Chapter 389: An unexpected encounter

The ride to wherever Sinclair and Alithe booked a reservation took awhile.

It was obviously farther than the guild because Coco saw the carriage pass by the building ten minutes ago, but she didn’t comment about it because the hybrids merely wanted to congratulate her by celebrating it somewhere else.

However, Lala had been talking nonstop.

It makes the whole ride interesting to Coco, but to the husbands? It was a different story.

Ring. Ring. Ring. Rinnnng.

They could only hear the bell ringing coming from her— the sound seemingly echoing inside the carriage which made it more irritating than usual.

They can’t say anything because their wife looked incredibly invested in whatever the fairy was saying.

She would nod her head, smile a little, and giggle quietly beside Quizen while saying a response of her own, but the response was vague so it was difficult for them to guess what they were talking about.

Thankfully, the carriage came into a halt after an hour, causing the husbands to let out a sigh of relief.

"This place should be good." Quizen muttered under his breath as he opened the door and stepped out of the carriage first before turning around and holding his hand out towards Coco.

"I’m sure it is." Heiren said, following behind Quizen and stepping out the carriage.

"What are you two talking about?" Coco spoke up, blinking owlishly as she lowered her head and slowly exited the carriage all the while placing her hand on top of Quizen’s palm.

"Nothing important." The fourth husband said, his thumb caressing the back of her hand as she stepped out of the wooden vehicle.

"Don’t be gross, Quizen." Alhai stated bluntly, following behind Coco and snatched Coco’s out of Quizen’s hand.

"Hey! I was holding her!" The blue haired mediator quickly complained, making other passerby turn their heads at Quizen’s direction.

Zaque’s eyebrow furrowed and he immediately exited the carriage, his eyes landing on the whining mediator.

"Lower your voice, Quizen." Zaque chastised him, shaking his head in disapproval as if he was talking to a child. "And stop hogging Coco all to yourself— also, don’t you think that whining about this kind of thing is embarrassing?"

"Woah, woah, woah." Coco’s eyes went wide in surprise at the words she heard from Zaque. "Don’t you think that’s a little harsh?"

"No worries, wife." Quizen interjected and jumped to protect himself. "It doesn’t sound harsh and I didn’t take it to heart."

Coco opened her mouth, her eyes shifting between Quizen and Zaque, but before she could say anything, someone had called out to her.

"Coco!"

The voice sounded familiar so Coco turned her head to look at the person who called for her, only to see a familiar blonde hair and a pair of golden eyes.

"Lukas?" Coco blinked, not expecting to encounter the sacred beast or anyone from the guild.

"Hey! What are you doing here— oh?" The blonde haired beast stopped talking and his eyebrows raised when his eyes landed on the mediators around Coco, all of their faces holding a grimace.

A grin started to form in his face, a teasing glint crossing his eyes. "You’re on a date with your husbands?"

"No, but I can be considered as one." Coco answered, shooting Lukas a polite and knowing smile. "How about you? What are you doing here? Have you found you’re perfect one yet?"

At the mention of the search of his perfect one, Lukas’ cocky grin fell and a crestfallen expression emerged on his face.

"I can’t leave the city yet." The sacred beast huffed out, crossing his arms in front of his chest which made his muscles pop out. "I still have to do a few mission from the guild’s mission billboard."

"Sounds rough." Coco commented, her hand snaking on Zaque’s hand and had him flinching beside her. "As much as I would love to stay, I have a date with them."

Lukas nodded his head in understanding, a sigh similar to a whine escaping his lips. "Must be nice.. Well, have fun."

Coco merely shot him a smile and grabbed Alhai’s hand with her other hand, making the silver haired mediator hold her hand tightly almost immediately, before she dragged the two of them towards the building in front of them.

Quizen and Heiren scrambled to ran after the three that went ahead, the two of them glancing at Lukas’ direction over their shoulders before they disappeared behind the doors.

Once Coco and the two mediators she dragged got inside the building, she quickly let go of their hands and rubbed his face— the kind of action that people does whenever they’re stressed about something.

"I can’t believe he hasn’t left yet.. And why do I feel like I’ll receive another quest related to him?" Coco grumbled against her palm, her eyes narrowing at nothing in particular.

The mediators could only watch Coco mumbled something incoherent under her breath in silence, all four of them feeling slightly confused and at lost for words because her reaction is quite strange.

"Please don’t let this be a foreshadowing." Coco sighed, rubbing the bridge of her nose. "I can’t start another quest while I haven’t finished their story quests."

Fortunately, she couldn’t dwell too much into that thought because Sinclair and Alithe appeared from the top of the grand staircase, looking like they just got off luxurious gala due to their clothing.

"Coco!" Sinclair called, eyes bright with delight. "You look so beautiful with that coat and everything!"

Coco laughed and pulled her hand away from her face, smiling at the hybrid who approached her with alarming speed. "Thank you. You look fantabulous as well, Sin."

"Yeah, but you should compliment yourself, too! You’re stunning!" Sinclair said, chuckling.

"Just to let the five of you know." Alithe spoke up as he approached the group with deliberate steps. "The reservation we booked is until tomorrow afternoon."

Coco froze and her eyes went wide in surprise, her head whipping towards Alithe’s direction.

"What?"
