My Mother is the Villain

Chapter 9: Heavenly Lighting Spirit

Chapter 9: Heavenly Lighting Spirit

"Lukas has made many contributions... and his background is quite formidable. He’s the grandson of one of the sect’s ancestors. If it were any other disciple, it would be easy," the Sect Master replied in a low voice.

"Sect Master, is that ancestor stronger than Lady?" Emma responded with a disdainful gaze.

"You should know—Lady sent my Young Master here. Naturally, she expects your sect to offer its best. Do you think Lady wouldn’t repay the favor afterward? As an ally, she will surely grant your sect even greater benefits."

Emma’s words made the Sect Master nod unconsciously.

He had known Margaret for a long time.

That woman was indeed ruthless and domineering. But she was not stingy. She obtained treasures from everywhere, and what she actually used for herself was limited. The rest, she distributed to her allies.

That was why she had so many loyal followers despite her tyranny.

"Please wait a moment. I will discuss this with the ancestors," the Sect Master said.

His figure transformed into lightning and vanished in an instant.

Emma smiled faintly at the sight, then glanced at Liam, who looked stunned.

Alisa was even more shocked—frozen in place, unable to believe that Margaret’s influence could be so overwhelming that it could sway the Heavenly Lightning Sect, a force that should have been stronger than the Russell Clan.

"Damn it! Where is that brat?!" A furious roar suddenly echoed from outside.

Even the thunder in the sky sounded faint compared to that shout.

"Ancestor Hernandez, please calm down!" the Sect Master’s voice echoed in response.

"Calm down? How can I calm down? How dare an outsider try to rob my grandson within our own sect!"

"But, Ancestor—"

"Silence! Do you want me to throw you into the sea? Do you think I fear that woman? She wasn’t even born when I roamed the world, challenging over a thousand geniuses alongside our Thousand Lightning Monarch!"

"Hernandez, return. Do not cause a disturbance in the sect."

Another voice suddenly rang out—calm, yet filled with authority.

"Grand Ancestor..." Liam’s expression turned to shock upon hearing it, while Emma showed a rare serious expression—something she hadn’t even displayed when hearing Hernandez.

After the Grand Ancestor of the Heavenly Lightning Sect spoke, Hernandez fell silent.

This figure had long been known as one of the strongest across the two human continents.

In fact, the Thousand Lightning Monarch—the sect’s third World Monarch—had once been his disciple.

He had appeared specifically to stop Hernandez.

To Liam, this clearly signaled that he likely had no intention of clashing with Margaret.

Just how powerful was that woman, really?

Not long after, the Sect Master reappeared—with a handprint visible on his face.

He looked awkward and slightly embarrassed.

"There were... some minor issues, but they’ve been resolved," he said with a smile, seemingly unaware of the mark on his cheek.

Liam hesitated, unsure whether to point it out.

"Young Master Victor, please follow me," the Sect Master said.

Victor and Emma immediately stood and followed him.

"Miss Alisa, you may come with me..." Liam said as Alisa tried to follow them.

She pouted slightly at the obvious difference in treatment.

As they exited the Sect Master’s residence, Victor noticed many displeased gazes from the sect’s younger disciples.

Clearly, they hadn’t expected someone to act so freely within their sect.

"Brat!"

A sharp shout rang out.

Victor turned to see a young girl with light blue hair—about his age—holding a lightning spear.

Her skin was pale like porcelain, and perhaps due to her anger, her entire face was flushed red.

"Oh no..." The Sect Master looked troubled upon seeing her.

"Miss, please calm down," he said.

"Calm down? How can I stay calm when my sect is being oppressed?!" the girl snapped, before fixing Victor with a cold glare.

"Brat, if you’re really a man, fight me. Don’t rely on your mother’s backing."

She released her aura, revealing a cultivation already at the Xiantian Realm.

Victor hadn’t expected that—he himself hadn’t even officially entered the Houtian Realm. Had he actually started too late?

"Little girl, watch your words..." Emma stepped forward angrily.

She would not tolerate anyone insulting her young master.

"You’re just a servant. Do you think you’re qualified to speak to me?" the girl shot back, equally furious.

"Sect Master, is this how your sect treats its guests?" Victor spoke, addressing the Sect Master directly.

"Ahem... Young Master, please forgive us," the Sect Master said with an awkward smile.

That only made the girl angrier.

"Why are you apologizing to him?!" She even dared to point directly at the Sect Master, yet the surrounding members seemed to find it normal.

"Miss, please do not cause trouble. Young Master Victor is our honored guest," the man said.

"You?!" The girl’s eyes widened in disbelief.

"Let’s just ignore her," Victor said calmly.

The Sect Master nodded lightly.

He continued leading the way, and Victor followed without even sparing the girl another glance.

Her cultivation might be higher, but with Emma behind him, she couldn’t do anything. She couldn’t even step forward to approach him.

The Sect Master brought them to a cave.

Inside, there was a vast pool of lightning, rumbling endlessly.

Victor knew that if he fell into that pool, he would be reduced to ashes in an instant.

His gaze was drawn to two blue chains hanging from the ceiling, their ends submerged in the lightning pool.

"Come out!" the Sect Master commanded.

The chains rose, revealing a humanoid figure formed entirely of blue light, constantly emitting lightning.

It struggled as it was pulled upward, as if trying to return to the pool.

It couldn’t speak—only producing thunderous rumbles with every movement.

"Heavenly Lightning Spirit..." Emma stared at it in awe.

"This is the best we can offer," the Sect Master said.

"Though it appears violent, it is actually extremely pure and can be absorbed easily. The result is a Heaven-Class Lightning Power Affinity."

The Sect Master’s hand suddenly enlarged as he grabbed the lightning entity, which was completely powerless.

"Young Master, please forgive my rudeness," he said.

Buzz!

He forcibly merged the creature into Victor.

Victor’s eyes instantly lit up with lightning, followed by his entire body.

Countless bolts of lightning burst from him.

He didn’t feel much discomfort. Instead, he sensed a surge of Spiritual Energy flooding into his body, merging with him instantly—causing his energy to skyrocket.
