My Mother is the Villain

Chapter 41: Dinner

Chapter 41: Dinner

"Alright, if that’s what you want," Alexandra said, as if she were simply following Victor’s wishes—or honoring what her fiancé desired.

A light tap on the seat brought the carriage to a halt.

"Please wait here," she said to Victor before stepping out.

Victor didn’t mind.

Even in the city, Alexandra was clearly well-known.

People immediately recognized her the moment they saw her, and she entered the clothing store with Lily without hesitation.

They went toward the back, soon disappearing from Victor’s sight.

For Lily, changing clothes probably wasn’t difficult—she had worn dresses before. But Victor felt that this time, she wanted to do it to appear more attractive in his eyes.

Victor waited calmly inside the carriage.

After a while, Alexandra finally returned—her appearance stunning enough to captivate Victor completely.

She wore a long white off-shoulder gown, tight around the upper body and flowing loosely below.

Her graceful curves were no longer hidden. With her perfectly slender figure, there was simply no room for criticism.

Around her neck was a pearl bib necklace, covering part of her exposed upper chest.

Even her ears were now adorned with long earrings.

Lily, who followed behind her, couldn’t help but stare in awe, utterly amazed by her unparalleled beauty.

The surrounding people were even more shocked, wondering why Alexandra had returned to wearing a dress after such a long time in her loose white robes.

Perhaps unable to endure the attention, Alexandra quickly stepped back into the carriage, sitting in front of Victor once more—who stared at her almost without blinking.

As soon as she sat down, Victor reached out and lifted her veil.

Her face looked even more perfect with this new appearance, and Alexandra couldn’t hide her awkwardness under his gaze.

"By the way, it seems the Bloodline Pool can become stronger if mixed with a Bloodline," Victor said.

He spoke deliberately to ease the atmosphere—and of course, because he truly wanted to discuss it.

Alexandra didn’t respond immediately, as if carefully considering her answer.

"Is there something you can’t say?" Victor asked with a faint smile.

"Well... you’ll eventually hear it from others," Alexandra replied. "It does require a Bloodline to become stronger, but it’s only effective on Bloodlines whose potential has already been drawn out."

"Oh..." Victor immediately understood.

If that was the case, then it had to be a Bloodline within someone’s body.

No wonder Alexandra had hesitated to tell him.

This wasn’t something that could be found in a market—it could only be taken from those who possessed a Bloodline.

And of course, extracting someone’s Bloodline would cause them immense suffering.

Alexandra grew worried after telling Victor that.

She realized there was a high chance he might actually do it.

By the time they left the city, it was already late afternoon, the sky turning golden.

Victor glanced at the city again.

A restaurant caught his attention.

It was luxurious, with walls made entirely of glass, allowing everything inside to be seen from outside.

Nobles could be seen dining with their partners.

Besides the first and second floors, the restaurant also had a high rooftop.

"Let’s have dinner here," Victor said.

"I’ll reserve the entire rooftop for just the two of us."

"Yes..." Alexandra nodded lightly.

She put her veil back on before Victor helped her down from the carriage.

Ignoring the gazes around them, they stepped into the restaurant.

Victor’s expression remained indifferent as he entered.

His presence was no less striking than Alexandra’s.

If Alexandra drew the attention of men, then Victor captured the attention of women.

A beautiful waitress quickly approached them.

"I want the entire rooftop," Victor stated before she could even ask.

"Sir, there are already guests up there," the waitress replied.

It wasn’t impossible—but reserving the entire rooftop usually required booking several days in advance.

"Tell them to leave." Suddenly, another voice spoke.

Evan had appeared out of nowhere.

"If they refuse, tell them they’ll become enemies of the Russell Clan of the Ancient Blood Continent—and enemies of the Shadow Master as well," he declared.

If Victor had to say that himself, it would’ve felt awkward. Fortunately, this man showed up.

Victor smiled faintly, while the others could only feel fear at those names.

The restaurant owner rushed out from the kitchen and shouted at the waitress.

"What are you waiting for? Go tell them to leave immediately!"

"Yes!" The waitress hurried toward the stairs at full speed.

Soon enough, the guests came down with dark expressions, though they tried to hide them upon reaching the lower floor.

"Young Master, Miss, this way please!" The owner personally led Victor and Alexandra to the rooftop.

Alexandra lowered her head.

Following Victor, situations like this were inevitable.

The problem was, it completely clashed with her usual way of life.

"Miss Spencer, you’re a Heavenly Woman—how can you do something like this?"

Someone suddenly spoke.

He wasn’t one of the guests who had just come down, but a diner seated alone on the first floor.

Victor stopped walking when he heard that.

The speaker was a young man.

Victor didn’t recognize him, but he was clearly a student of the academy.

For him to be this bold, he must have at least some decent strength.

Alexandra grew uneasy.

"Martin, you don’t accept this?" Evan asked.

"I’m talking about norms and common sense," the young man replied, showing no fear toward Evan.

After that, he turned his gaze back to Alexandra.

"Miss Spencer, everyone knows your virtue—you became a Heavenly Woman, after all. But your fiancé is your complete opposite. You don’t suit each other at all... unless you actually like a man like this—someone who breaks rules while relying on his background."

"..."

"Martin, watch your mouth!" Evan shouted, striding toward him.

But the young man merely snorted before leaving—jumping through the window and flying away.

Victor could see the hesitation in Alexandra’s eyes.

The young man’s words had clearly affected her.

Not knowing what to say, Victor simply took her hand again and signaled the restaurant owner to continue.

They quickly arrived at the rooftop.

The tables had been rearranged, leaving only a single table in the center with two chairs facing each other.

The owner ordered the waiters to bring their finest food and drinks.

As night fell, countless stars appeared in the sky.

But ever since she sat down, Alexandra kept her head lowered.
