My Mother is the Villain

Chapter 40: Pool

Chapter 40: Pool

What he found inside the room was a clear red pool that didn’t hide its bottom.

A wooden chair was placed right beside it, likely meant for resting.

With no windows, the entire room was completely enclosed, yet it wasn’t dark.

Victor looked at Alexandra first.

She still seemed a little shy.

But suddenly, Victor reached out and pulled off her veil.

"There’s less air in here. It must be hard to breathe with that on," he said with a gentle smile.

Alexandra couldn’t really protest.

With no one else around, she had no problem revealing her face completely.

"Why are you nervous?" Victor asked.

Alexandra couldn’t answer.

"To be honest, I’m a bit nervous too. This is my first time alone with a woman in a closed room. It must be your first time too. But even though it’s tense, it also feels... nice. I wonder if you feel the same? You don’t seem scared or uncomfortable or anything like that."

Alexandra, "..."

"Maybe you should start your training," she suggested instead.

"Right..." Victor nodded.

As he spoke, he moved his coat and upper clothes into his storage ring, leaving his upper body bare and revealing his broad chest and well-defined abs.

Alexandra’s eyes widened and trembled.

But this time, she forced herself to suppress her reaction, stabilizing her expression—even controlling her breathing.

"You don’t have to be shirtless," she said.

"No, this is more comfortable..." Victor replied as he stepped into the pool.

It was shallow. Only when he sat down did the water reach his neck.

Even so, his chest and abdomen remained visible through the clear red liquid.

Alexandra couldn’t help but keep glancing.

She was indeed a normal woman.

Inside the pool, Victor finally felt a certain effect—like an added force in a tug-of-war, as if two ropes on his side were pulling out the potential of his bloodline.

It was certainly helpful, but the Heaven Guardian Dragon Bloodline was still too powerful to be drawn out easily.

He closed his eyes.

This was a battle—a difficult one.

And Victor sensed something. This Bloodline Pool might actually be strengthened, and his instincts told him it could be enhanced by mixing it with another Bloodline.

An hour later, there was still no result.

Victor opened his eyes instinctively, only to find Alexandra staring at his chest.

She was too late to realize his eyes were open, and when she did, she quickly looked away.

Pretending to be calm, she asked, "How is it?"

Victor shook his head.

"It’s slow. People can stay here for days without leaving," Alexandra explained.

"I can’t do that," Victor replied.

"You must be joking. If you can’t, how did you cultivate?"

"I was locked up by my mother and forced to cultivate nonstop."

"You were really locked up?" Alexandra was shocked.

"Yes. In a narrow space where I couldn’t even stand. It was always dark—I couldn’t see any light at all. I was even forced to take Misery Pills. It started when I was thirteen, and I only got out two days ago."

Alexandra’s eyes trembled upon hearing that.

She had heard rumors about his harsh training, but never expected it to be this extreme.

At a glance, he didn’t look like someone who had endured such suffering.

"I don’t need your pity," Victor said as he stepped out of the pool. "I don’t want feelings born from pity from my woman."

"See? I’m perfectly fine," he added with a chuckle.

Alexandra didn’t know how to respond.

Then she was startled again.

Victor suddenly wrapped an arm around her waist, pulling her into an embrace.

Her eyes widened, and Victor realized just how slender her waist was.

She froze as her cheeks turned red.

"When I got out of that prison as an adult, I realized I had a strong desire to hold a woman," Victor said.

"And it turns out it really is this comfortable."

Alexandra, "..."

She couldn’t move in his arms.

As time passed, even her neck turned red.

Her eyes couldn’t help but move between his handsome face and broad chest.

An uncontrollable urge to touch him arose.

She just didn’t dare—but somewhere in her heart, a small hope appeared that Victor would go further.

"You’re very beautiful," Victor said.

But after saying that, he released her and shook his head.

"Look like I went too far."

Alexandra, "..."

While she remained frozen, Victor put his clothes back on.

He easily dried his pants using spiritual energy.

He noticed Alexandra looking awkward.

"You’re not mad, are you?" he asked.

"Why would I need to? You didn’t do anything wrong," she replied softly.

Victor didn’t expect that answer.

"Anyway, how about we go to the city? I’ve only passed by—I haven’t seen much," he said, changing the topic.

"Alright, but let’s use a carriage. There are too many people in the city," Alexandra replied.

"Sure..."

Victor took her hand again and opened the door, while she quickly covered her face once more.

People outside immediately turned toward them.

Only an hour had passed—it was too quick for proper training.

Alexandra seemed uncomfortable with the attention and walked faster.

They headed toward the gate.

Lily was waiting there with a luxurious wooden carriage pulled by a winged yellow horse.

Even the carriage windows were covered with curtains that didn’t move with the wind—though they were likely transparent from the inside.

"Please," Alexandra gestured for Victor to enter first.

Victor stepped into the carriage.

Inside were two seats facing each other, each large enough for two people.

Victor chose the back seat.

After he sat down, Alexandra entered and hesitated briefly before choosing the seat opposite him.

The carriage began to move, and though Victor could look outside through the curtained window, his gaze remained on Alexandra’s face, which she had revealed again.

But he only looked at Alexandra’s face, which she had revealed again.

"Do you always dress in such large robes?" Victor asked.

"Not at first, but I respect my teacher’s wish for me not to stand out too much," Alexandra replied.

After saying that, she seemed to fall into thought.

Coincidentally, they passed by a clothing store filled with luxurious dresses seemingly made for beautiful women.

Many women walked in, yet could only admire the dresses from afar.

They required a tall and slender figure to wear them properly.

Alexandra glanced at the store, her mind seemingly racing.

"Do you want me to wear a dress?" she asked Victor.

"That would definitely look better," Victor replied.
