Chapter 42: Drink
Chapter 42: Drink
After the dishes were prepared and all the waiters had left, Victor once again lifted Alexandra’s veil, drawing her gaze toward him.
"You won’t be able to maintain your good reputation when you’re with me. Even so, I have no intention of letting you go," Victor said.
"I never asked you to let me go," she replied.
"And you can’t change either..." Victor added.
"I know... There are always things we lose when stepping into a new life." Alexandra remained calm as Victor reached for her hand.
"Even if you lose something, I’ll make sure you’re satisfied with this relationship," Victor said before picking up a piece of meat with his fork and bringing it to Alexandra’s soft lips.
She froze, clearly shocked by his action.
"Come on..." Victor urged gently, causing her neck and cheeks to flush red.
She couldn’t hide her embarrassment.
When the meat touched her lips, Alexandra had no choice but to open her mouth and accept it.
She chewed slowly.
Victor used the same fork to eat afterward, prompting Alexandra to quickly take another fork.
"I can feed myself," she said.
"Alright," Victor replied.
On the table, he noticed several types of wine.
Each had a dosage label, and he chose the strongest one—enough to make even a Sage Realm cultivator feel intoxicated.
As soon as he opened it, a rich fragrance spread through the air.
Alexandra’s brows slightly furrowed.
"I’ve never drunk wine before," she said.
"Really?" Victor looked surprised.
She nodded.
"Don’t you want to try?" he asked.
Alexandra hesitated. Her eyes showed a mix of refusal and curiosity.
"Just a little..." she finally said.
Hearing that, Victor poured the wine into her cup, filling it halfway.
"Try it, you’ll feel more at ease," he said.
He himself drank a full cup in one go.
Still hesitant, Alexandra picked up her cup and began to sip the wine.
She drank slowly, showing no immediate reaction to the taste.
But as it gradually went down her throat, her skin flushed red, and her eyes began to soften, as if a burden had been lifted.
She set the cup down after finishing half of it.
"How does it taste?" Victor asked with a smile.
"It’s warm," she replied.
The effect of the wine came quickly, and Victor knew it was more than just warmth.
Even he could feel a rising sense of exhilaration.
Alexandra continued eating, occasionally sipping more wine.
It seemed she was beginning to enjoy the sensation.
Eventually, the wine was completely finished.
"Want more?" Victor asked.
"No, that’s enough," Alexandra said, though her tone had subtly changed.
She switched to drinking water until she finished her meal.
Victor then stood up.
As Alexandra tried to stand as well, her body swayed, as if caught in a strong breeze.
Victor quickly caught her and pulled her into his arms.
She was startled again, not daring to meet his eyes.
Her breathing became faster—and warmer.
Without warning, Victor kissed her.
Her eyes widened in shock.
Yet what she felt was an overwhelming sense of pleasure and comfort, making her unwilling to pull away.
Victor had never kissed any woman in this world before—and now, he was kissing a Heavenly Woman.
His desire surged, driven by a sensation he had never experienced before.
He deepened the kiss, his hold firm, their closeness intensifying.
Alexandra’s only visible reaction was her embarrassment.
Her whole body trembled, and her hands unconsciously clutched Victor’s.
Her chest rose and fell, and Victor could feel her softness against him.
"You’re my lover, right?" Victor asked after pulling back.
"We’re engaged," Alexandra replied softly.
"That’s right, we’re engaged." Victor chuckled, then suddenly took to the air, carrying her with him.
"Where are we going?" she asked, panicked.
"My place," Victor answered.
He hadn’t chosen a residence in the academy yet. He had planned to stay at Alexandra’s place.
But on the first day, he didn’t want any interruptions.
So instead, he brought her to his private residence.
Earlier, the Bald Elder had already informed the clan members of the Russell Clan property’s location.
They had passed by it before but hadn’t stopped.
Anyone could enter, as it wasn’t protected by any particular mechanism.
Alexandra pressed her lips together upon hearing his answer but remained silent in his arms.
She couldn’t refuse—and instead, she felt a strange sense of anticipation.
They didn’t fly far, landing in a courtyard surrounded by several houses.
No one was around. The place was empty, yet well-maintained.
The Russell Clan had left it without guards.
Someone would only come in the morning to take care of it.
The name "Russell" at the gate was enough to deter anyone from doing anything foolish there.
Even without Margaret, the clan remained one of the top factions feared by many.
Victor brought Alexandra into the largest house, clearly reserved for him.
The crystal lights on the ceiling illuminated the interior.
It was fully furnished, with a long sofa at its center.
But Victor didn’t stop there.
The house had only one floor, and he headed straight to the largest bedroom, pushing the door open with his foot.
Alexandra couldn’t hide her shock when she saw the large bed by the window, as if waiting for them.
Even though she had already guessed Victor’s intentions, this confirmed it—he wanted to spend the night with her.
Naturally, she was nervous.
Her heart pounded, yet there was also a sense of anticipation, while her mind felt increasingly light from the lingering effects of the wine.
Victor stepped toward the bed and stopped beside it.
He removed his coat, then gently caressed Alexandra’s slightly lowered face before wrapping an arm around her slender waist.
She was tall—her height reaching his nose.
When she slightly raised her face, their lips aligned perfectly.
Without a word, Victor kissed her again—this time more assertively—guiding her down onto the bed.
The bed was soft, causing their bodies to bounce slightly, yet it wasn’t enough to break the kiss.
Because the mattress was so soft, Victor was able to press his body more firmly against Alexandra’s.
He could feel every inch of her softness, and it grew warmer.
