Chapter 751: Battle maniacs

Chapter 751: Battle maniacs

Iris congratulated them each time another one was sent out of the tower; she seemed very proud of their achievements. The warriors and mages began to share what had happened to them inside the tower.

While waiting for the last of them to be expelled, the fighters and mages were very excited about their experience. The rewards they received once the trial was over were very bountiful. They all leveled up five times and earned 50 points in all their basic stats, plus 5,000 energy points.

Iris then told them that it was only because it was their first time in the tower that they received so many rewards, and that now they would only receive some bonuses or levels after they were expelled from it.

Just as they learned that it was thanks to Yelena that they could pass the seventh floor without any issue, Chris and Alexander finally appeared.

Chris then told them that Julian didn’t need Yelena’s help and that he broke through the illusion of the seventh floor in less than a minute.

While they were recounting what had happened on the upper floors, Iris contacted Elias through their private link.

She shared what she had learned about Julian because the more she learned about him, the more confused she became. Even the warrior spirits took a few minutes to pass through the seventh floor, so Julian genuinely intrigued her.

Elias told her that Julian was truly special and that both Yelena and he were very important for the war. They couldn’t afford to lose them, which was why she had to babysit them and their group.

When Yelena finally appeared, she was exhausted, and Iris had to make her drink Ashton’s remedy for mental fatigue. The fact that both she and Julian had been able to hold out for a few minutes alone on the tenth floor was a miracle. To Iris, they were still like children trying to learn how to fight against gods.

But they did well!

Julian finally fell unconscious from the portal; he had stayed on the tenth floor for 47 minutes, and for the last 2 minutes, he had been alone against an army.

Elias then appeared to check on them and took Julian to the infirmary, where he could rest and be monitored.

Before he left, Kevin asked him, "Dad! Who is he? Julian seems as strong as a warrior spirit, and he has been training as a Priest by using the particles of spiritual energy all around him and those inside colored talisman papers... but he is neither a warrior spirit nor a Priest."

Elias smiled at him, as everyone seemed really curious about Julian, he told them, "I’m not sure either, but during the first war against the ancient Gods, 10,000 years ago, the Priests were exterminated, and the warrior spirits appeared. However, without people to help us understand our powers, after Miguel’s death, we wouldn’t have won this war. They were called Sages; they possessed knowledge that nobody else had. They understood our existence better than anyone else and guided us. In all my existence, I have met only three Sages: one in my home world, who was killed not long after Miguel; the second one in Esmee’s world, who died in the last battle against the ancient Gods, sacrificing himself to save us that day; and the third one is Julian. I’m sure that he is one of them. They are mages who can fight as well as warriors, but they didn’t like fighting. They prefer to conduct experiments and learn more about our existence and how to use the spiritual energy. In peaceful times, they choose to guide us as teachers, but when war comes knocking at our door, they reveal their true powers."

"Does he even know that he is a Sage?" Kevin couldn’t help but ask.

"I told him what I know about the Sages, but he is not convinced he is one of them; he doesn’t think he is special. But my instinct has never been wrong; Julian can help us win this war, I’m sure of it. His role will be crucial."

After listening to Elias, everyone fell silent, and now that they had all exited the tower, they looked utterly exhausted. Elias opened a golden portal and told them to follow him to rest, mentioning that they had done well and that their progress was astonishing.

He waved at Kevin before disappearing with Julian’s group and Iris. Once they were alone, Axel asked him, "What do you think?"

Kevin told him, as his men looked at the tower with anticipation after hearing the stories from Chris and the others, "My dad is never wrong! So for Julian, whatever his role will be in the war, it will be very important."

Axel just nodded and replied via their link, "I will keep an eye on him then."

Kevin nodded and said to his shadow team, "Okay, guys! Let’s go! And contrary to the last group, we will finish the tenth floor, so prepare yourselves to enter hell!"

Only Mathias and Brice had already experienced the dungeons of this world, as only the elite had been chosen this time. Anthony, Theo, and Mason didn’t come, so the other eight shadows were the best men Kevin had trained while he was still in his home world.

They had no idea what awaited them in this tower, but if it was as cool as what the others had told them about the dungeons and what they heard from the last group, it would be epic. They were all very excited!

Axel looked at them and couldn’t help but smile because it reminded him of Kevin the first time they went on adventures together.

Those men were battle maniacs, and they couldn’t wait to enter the tower, so he told them, "This tower is very special, and unfortunately for you, it prepares its tests based on the strongest individual of the team. It won’t be a walk in the park, so stay focused and listen to the orders!"
