Chapter 64: Screw loose!

Chapter 64: Screw loose!

The Warlock duo looked at Xiao Shen without Xiao Shen discovering them.

"See, Zhao Xixi," Zhou Lan smiled and looked at her. "Patience is key!"

"Indeed, let’s go after him," Zhao Xixi nodded her head. If they got their hands on this high quality mana stone, then they would be able to concoct a potion that would enable them to advance to the next level.

Unlike Cultivators, who would automatically undergo a Heavenly Tribulation and advance to the next realm once their power reached a certain threshold, Arcanists advanced by drinking various potions over time that slowly changed their body structure and made them immortal, if they survived drinking the potion, that is.

The both of them were Second Level True Arcanist rank Warlocks that got where they were by carving a road of blood and creating mountains of corpses. Killing a small Xiao Shen was not something that they would think twice before doing!

"Patience, Zhao Xixi, patience." Zhou Lan smiled at her. "What if he has companions? It would be troublesome to attack before knowing what type of person he is."

"Oh, I get it." Zhao Xixi nodded her head.

"No, you do not." Zhou Lan shook his head.

"Yeah... I actually don’t. We just need to get him, kill him, take the stone, concoct the potion, advance, find some sect to take over and consolidate the new realm, right?" Zhao Xixi spread out her hands. "It’s as easy as instant noodles!"

"No, no." Zhou Lan calmly shook his head. "We have to watch out for traps. We have to find out whether or not he’s a Wizard, Mage, or Warlock. We have to find out whether he’s a righteous path Arcanist or a Demonic one. We have to check if he’s still at the First Level Lay Arcanist rank, or at the Ninth Level Arcane Immortal rank. Imagine us trying to rob someone at the Third Level Greater Arcanist rank!"

"Oh." Zhao Xixi pursed her lips. "I didn’t think that far..."

"Just observe and follow him in secret." Zhou Lan said as he casted an illusion spell on himself. It was one that made his existence unmemorable. One would see him, but would forget about him in the next second.

"Okay." Zhao Xixi said as she casted the same spell on herself.

"....." Xiao Shen.

With the technique, he had already seen them both!

Though he had no idea what they were talking about, he saw them draw strange symbols in the air that made their existence seem to disappear.

"Witches..." He thought to himself as he shook his head. "It would be best if I stayed away from them."

Our Xiao Shen had no idea that he and the gift he had gotten from the Desolate Yin sect was their target.

Bai Ningxue had lain in stupor for almost five minutes before she was able to completely recover. Once she could stand up properly without her legs giving out, she got on her feet and drew the runic circle in reverse. This made the energy within it to dissipate and the runic circle to disappear.

After doing so, she made a rune in the air to activate her spatial magic treasure and pulled out a puppet.

Bai Ningxue was a witch, just like Chu Miao. Witches were exceptional in curses and always carried a voodoo doll about, so it was only normal that she had one in her spatial magic treasure. However, her voodoo doll was a bit more special than ordinary ones.

"Inflate!" She commanded while drawing a rune on it.

In the next second, the voodoo doll began to expand until it was the size of an ordinary person.

She nodded her head and proceeded to engrave several runes on the body of the doll, after which it looked exactly like a normal person. Then, she casted an illusion spell that made the doll look, to an ordinary human eye, like her. This doll was to take her place while she went about doing other things.

Sighing, she dispelled the illusion formation she had casted and got rid of all traces of mana in the surrounding area. Then, Bai Ningxue looked at the voodoo doll. "Stay at the receptionist table. If someone comes, take down their names. If someone asks you something that you do not know, relay the question to me. Understand?"

The doll received her command and nodded it’s head.

"Good." Bai Ningxue nodded her head. She took out a potion from her spatial magic treasure and sprinkled it in herself, after which her person began to merge with the shadows.

At the same time, Chu Miao came out of the clinic. "Aaah, I feel much better now."

She had taken painkillers from the Doctor Aunty and felt great. No, she could not feel at all, and that was great. These painkillers worked by numbing the nervous system, stopping one from temporarily feeling pain or pleasure or any sensory information that passed through the nerves. This was, infact, a very dangerous thing to do, considering the fact that one’s reflexes and other related body protecting functions were relying on the nervous system, but it was the only option.

After all, even her internal organs were seriously injured and she was already long past death’s door. It was, medically, an injury that could not be healed or treated.

If she had taken ordinary painkillers, then the pain would kill her once it wore off!

I have to find that Fellow Arcanist Xiao Shen and get the mana stone as quickly as possible!

Chu Miao thought to herself as she clenched her fist. She stretched out her hand and leapt into the air... only to remember that her flying broom was gone.

"Oof!" She crashed face first into the ground.

Chu Miao shook her head and sat up. She rubbed the back of her head and gave a hollow laugh. "Haha, I forgot that I lost my flying broom... Aiyah, thank goodness no one saw that!"

"....." Bai Ningxue.

Teacher, what the hell is interesting about this person?! Her head obviously has a few screws loose!
