Chapter 63: Doctor Aunty: Miss, how the f*ck are you alive?!!
Practicers of the Arcane Arts, unlike cultivators, were divided into four main categories. Those who believed in nature and used their magic for good... did not exist.
Magic was used to further ones lifespan and attain immortality. Whether or not anyone died in the process as an aftermath was not really anyone’s concern.
Mages were Arcanists who focused on learning more about the world and universe, slowly but surely finding their way that her immortality. Witches were like mages, only that they were rather vindictive and vengeful. A witch could abandon hundreds of years of research and use it all on a spell to curse someone that annoyed them.
Wizards were like witches, but male. However, they were not nearly as spiteful.
Then, there were Warlocks, the demonic Arcanists who used terrible and horrible means to grow more powerful.
While Mages focused on runic circles to work their magic, Witches and Wizards used potions and incantations, Warlocks used human lives as mana and slaughtered people to cast spells.
Necromancers, Summoners and other types of Arcanists were mostly aligned towards being neutral, killing when they need to and sparing lives when it was not convenient.
Our Chu Miao was a witch. However, she was a very peculiar witch.
"I... I can’t understand it." The doctor rubbed her nose with a look that mixed up confusion, surprise, shock and pity.
"Your body is just fine on the outside, but the insides are a mess. Out of two hundred and six bones, you have at least sixty broken. Not to mention internal bleeding, injured organs, torn flesh... Pardon my language, miss, but how the f*ck are you f*cking alive?!!"
Healing potions are truly like make up. They’ll mask one up and give a pretty look, but they can’t take away the ugliness on the inside...
Chu Miao thought to herself as she spread out her hands. "You are the expert, Mrs. Doctor!"
"Your endurance must be really high! A normal person would have dropped dead by now! Infact, the sheer pain is enough to kill even abnormal people!" Aunty Doctor shook her head.
"In life, one must have the strength to bear all the things that fate throws at us." Chu Miao said with a sigh.
I wonder what would have made such a young lady her such a profound life philosophy...
Aunty Doctor have her a pitying gaze. "You are a strong girl, little miss"
Of course I’m strong, I’ve seen two world wars...
Chu Miao twitched the corners of her lips.
And did she just call me little miss? Little?
If one were to count her lifespan according to that of an ordinary human, then she was indeed a very young person. A First Level Lay Arcanist rank Witch, Wizard, Warlock or Mage had a lifespan of five hundred years. Chu Miao was only two hundred years old, even though her mental age was much younger.
A human lived seventy years, and a person at nineteen was young since they had lived only, well, roughly one third of their lifespan, Chu Miao could also be considered a very young witch since she had only lived for a hundred and fifty years, which was one third of her five hundred years lifespan.
But, compared to this Doctor Aunty, she was old enough to be her grand mother. No, her great grand mother!
"Doctor, can it be treated?" Chu Miao asked with hopeful eyes.
There were many healing spells and several kinds of healing potions that a Witch could use to cure her injuries and patch herself up until she was good as new, but they were precarious and had high chances of failing. If the potion was a failure, drinking it meant death!
Besides, she did not have the materials for such complicated things anyways. To procure them, then she would have to use her flying broom to go back home. Yet, to use the flying broom, she would have to be in good shape!
It was a vicious cycle of inability that kept her stuck in one place!
"I’m afraid not." The Doctor Aunty shook her head.
How could one heal such grievous injuries?
It was already a miracle that she was alive!
She shook her head and raised a brow.
"Were you run over by a truck or something? How did you get in this condition?"
Initially, she had thought that there were no issues and the girl simply wanted a check up for her well being, but, now she knew that the girl was at death’s door. No, she had passed by deaths door already and was supposed to be dead!
"Ahaha, if I said that I was hit by a plane, would you believe me?" Chu Miao spread out her hands and gave a hollow laugh.
To still have a sense of humor under these conditions...
Aunty Doctor sighed in pity. "The best we can do is to euthanize you, miss."
"What, no!" Chu Miao shook her head. "Painkillers are enough!"
All she needed was to get strong enough to return home, such injuries were nothing to heal!
Though, she would still have to drop by that Fellow Arcanist Xiao Shen’s place and trade with him for the high quality mana stone. Without it, then it would take at least a century to heal such!

"That restaurant..." The woman looked at her companion. "Zhou Lan, should we go in?"
"No, let us wait..." Zhou Lan shook his head and restrained his aura.
At the same time, Xiao Shen came out of the restaurant and cautiously glanced around.
He frowned. "I don’t see anyone..."

He shook his head and silently activated the one time use of the
