"Chu Miao, First Level Lay Arcanist rank Witch from the Chu clan." Chu Miao said with a bright smile. "What clan are you from Fellow Arcanist Xiao Shen?"

Then she face-palmed and shook her head. "Ah, I can be rather silly sometimes, hehe. How’s things going with the Xiao clan?"

"....." Xiao Shen was at a loss for words.

Xiao Shen rolled his eyes inwardly and ignored the trolling. He then raised a brow and tilted his head. "Ah, so, uh, Fellow Arcanist Chu Miao is from the Chu clan. What brought you to these parts?"

He chose to take the advice of that particular existence who seemed a bit sensible.

Chu Miao raised her hand into the air. "I want to trade with you for your Mana stone!"

Then she winced and coughed out a mouthful of blood. "Kkk..."

"Ah!" Xiao Shen was slightly taken aback. "Miss Chu Miao? Are you alright??"

Chu Miao shook her head with teary eyes. "My internal injuries are acting up..."

"Hmm, we really should take you to a hospital..." Xiao Shen said with a suggestive tone. He did not know whether or not witches visited the hospital, and did this to show that he was unsure. If witches did go to the hospital, then it would mean that he was merely suggesting an option, and it witches did not go to hospitals, then it would mean that the suggestion was skeptical.

It was a win win situation!

"Yeah... I think I should." Chu Miao nodded her head slowly. "Fellow Arcanist Xiao Shen, please show me the way to the nearest hospital!"

"I could take you to the clinic..." Xiao Shen suggested once more. If she went to the hospital on a school day when the medical students were around, it was very likely that she would not remain the same ever again.

"Chu Miao shall forever be indebted to you, Fellow Arcanist Xiao Shen!" Chu Miao said with a beaming smile.

Bai Ningxue was on receptionist duty today. In the University Town’s clinic, the nurses rotated cleaning duty, receptionist duty and ward duty between themselves, and it was her turn to be the receptionist nurse. The door opened and two people came in. Thus, she had to put down her book and smile at them. "Hello... Eh? It’s you, crazy guy! Did you finally come for a mental checkup?"

These people were precisely Xiao Shen and Chu Miao.

"Ahaha," Xiao Shen gave a hollow laugh.

"I’m the one who needs the checkup, miss sister nurse!" Chu Miao waved her arm with a smile, only to wince in pain immediately after. "Aaah, my insides hurt! I think I’ve got some serious internal injuries!"

Bai Ningxue nodded and stood up. "Follow me, then."

She gave Xiao Shen a sideways glance. "You may sit, we might take a while. Are you really sure you don’t need a checkup too?"

"I’m completely fine, haha..." Xiao Shen forced a smile.

[Anchor, that nurse has energy!]

Xiao Shen was speechless.

"If you say so." Bai Ningxue faintly nodded at him and took Chu Miao to the sick bay. Then, she came out with Chu Miao and shook her head. "Sorry, I forgot I am on receptionist duty today. I’ll have to register you in."

"Fine." Chu Miao nodded her head.

"Name, please." Bai Ningxue asked with her head low, writing stuff on the notepad.

"I am surnamed Chu and my given name is Miao, meaning wonderful!" Chu Miao smiled broadly. "Too bad they were wrong, though. I’m actually very ordinary."

"Chu Miao... Alright." Bai Ningxue wrote it down and nodded her head. She glanced to the side and saw a Sister Nurse playing on her phone. "Little Gao! Come take her for a checkup!"

The nurse sister surnamed Gao frowned slightly, but still stood up anyways. She was on ward duty. "Alright, miss, come with me. I’ll take you to Doctor Zhou."

As Chu Miao was taken away, Xiao Shen shrugged his shoulders. "I’ll be taking my leave, then."

"Oh? Won’t you wait for your girlfriend to finish?" Bai Ningxue asked with a raised brow.

"She’s not my girlfriend!" Xiao Shen did not know whether to laugh or cry.

"Oh. She’s a relative? Your sister? Cousin?" Bai Ningxue gave him a thoughtful look.

"Nope. We don’t really know each other. She just asked me to show her the clinic and I decided to accompany her here." Xiao Shen spread out his hands.

"Hmm..." Bai Ningxue nodded her head and passed him her notepad across the table. "To think that there are still such good people in this world. If you’re leaving, then please drop your name and phone number in case she wishes to thank you after she’s done."

"Fair. Though, she knows my name already, Xiao Shen..." Xiao Shen said as he took the notepad and pen before proceeding to write out the characters of his name. As for the phone number, his phone was currently gone and he could only drop Tian Hua’s number. But, instead of giving Tian Hua’s number to a witch of unknown origin, he instead wrote the name of his dorm.

He nodded his head and passed her the notepad. "There. If she’s looking for me, then she should just ask of Xiao Shen."

"Oh, you’re a student at the university. That’s interesting." Bai Ningxue nodded slightly as she took the notepad.

"I’ll be off, then." Xiao Shen half waved at her and came out of the clinic.
