My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 103: You Have No Power Here! [Part 1]

Chapter 103: You Have No Power Here! [Part 1]

The surviving warriors hurriedly dropped their weapons and raised their hands to indicate surrender.

In just a short period of time, less than fifty warriors of the Darkmane Tribe remained alive.

The Aslanians only suffered minor injuries because the three familiars and the Raptors had taken the brunt of the enemy’s forces.

To ensure the warriors who surrendered to them weren’t hiding any weapon inside their clothes, Ulric ordered them to strip, leaving only their underwear behind.

The only one who was spared from this fate was Travis, but they had bound him with a rope Daedalus had secretly provided.

"Start walking," Ulric ordered coldly. "Don’t get any funny ideas. The moment you do, your lives will be forfeit."

Jason had already left with Travis in tow, ensuring Bertram and the others wouldn’t try anything funny.

Daedalus also left ahead of them. Since they had no prison to hold their captives, it modified a few pitfall traps by removing the wooden stakes at the bottom.

It was too high for them to climb, so it was perfect for temporarily holding their prisoners in one place while they hunted their other prey, the Chieftain of the Bloodtusk Tribe, Ross.

In the meantime, high above Grimjaw Mountain, a defiant screech spread in the battlefield.

Astravor had decided to join the fray after Jason delivered Travis to Leone’s location.

Since the majority of the warriors had left, the Gryphon remained to protect the camp of the Aslan Tribe.

The smell of blood was intoxicating, and its wild instincts were being fanned by the flames of war.

The Gryphon flapped its wings and descended from the mountain peak.

As if to answer its call, a wolf howl soon reverberated in the surroundings.

The other Overlord of the Grimjaw Forest, the Rank 4 Forest Wolf, Lucan, had also started moving. It brought dozens of its subordinates, which were Rank 2 and Rank 3 Monsters.

The barbarians were strong and posed a threat to it. However, this was only true if they were an organized hunting party.

Now that they were running away like prey, how could the opportunistic Alpha Wolf let this chance slip by?

Russel, Fury, and Fenn had also decided to continue their hunt. There were over a thousand barbarians that were still alive, and they planned to hone their skills against them.

Even if they were to really die, it would only take them a few days to revive once more. As long as their Masters were alive, they would revive without fail.

Of course, they had no intention to die if they could help it. The three planned to practice their coordination as a team, using the environment to their full advantage.

The three might not have voiced their opinions out loud, but they were furious that people tried to invade their domain. As such, they would repay them in full!

Blitz squeaked as it jumped from tree branch to tree branch, following the trio and coordinating with the other squirrels in the forest.

The Squirrel Network allowed Blitz to learn the location of the enemies as it received reports from its subordinates in real time.

They were currently trying to find the Chieftain of the Bloodtusk Tribe, Ross. Once they found his location, all three familiars would either go for the kill or cripple the chieftain so he couldn’t run away.

While this was happening, Ulric and the rest of the warriors returned triumphantly inside the fortress, where their people cheered for their safe return.

Everyone quickly flocked around those who were injured and gave them healing potions Daedalus had crafted using the Medicine Work Bench that had been unlocked long ago.

Just as everyone was busy tending to the injured, a loud shout filled with anger reached their ears.

"You won’t get away with this!" Travis shouted. "My father will make you pay for humiliating me! I am the son of the Darkmane Tribe! If you don’t want to die, release me!"

"Silence!" Jason slapped the young man’s cheek, sending him sprawling on the ground. "You have no power here! I dare you to speak arrogantly one more time. If you do, I’ll cut off your tongue like I did to Varus before our Great Chieftain stabbed him to death with a spear!"

Jason was still in his white Werewolf form, so his roar made Travis shudder uncontrollably.

The former Chieftain of the Black Wolf Tribe respected Leone just as much as he respected his deceased father. He would not allow anyone to disrespect him in his presence!

As if to affirm his statement, Jason knelt in front of Leone like a knight.

"Great Chieftain, we only need him alive, right?" Jason asked. "Why don’t I cut off his tongue like what I had done to Varus before you killed him?"

Leone glanced at the fallen young man, whose lips were bleeding after he had been slapped by Jason earlier.

Travis was only alive because he promised Gundar he would not kill the young man. That way, the Aslan Tribe and the Darkmane Tribe still had room for negotiations.

"Calm down, Jason," Leone said calmly. "You don’t need to dirty your hands. If he really annoys me again, I’ll just feed him to the pigs. Porkchop, come."

*Oink!*

The chubby pig that belonged to Runa stepped up and walked toward the fallen young man.

Porkchop might’ve looked harmless before, but the same couldn’t be said now that it was wearing spiked armor similar to Fury’s.

Although it was a black pig, it looked very intimidating right now.

"Watch over him, Porkchop," Leone ordered. "If he tries anything funny, eat him."

*Oink!*

Porkchop casually pressed its hoof on the young man’s back, preventing him from standing up.

The Great Pudge then raised its head arrogantly, making it look very awesome. It looked like someone that had fought a great battle, looking down on those it had defeated.

Now that the immediate concern had been dealt with, Leone returned his attention back to the forest, where screams of the dying warriors could be heard.

The sound of trees falling on the ground also reached his ears.

Astravor flapped its mighty wings and unleashed invisible wind blades that cut through the forest, killing the warriors it had set its sights on.

A good distance away from him, a wolf howl also erupted and echoed.

Lucan and his wolves had finally arrived at the scene and started their own massacre.

Leone had warned them to stay away from the battle, but the smell of blood was overpowering, which they had sensed even from far away.

Because of this, Lucan decided to investigate and check how the battle was faring. When it realized that the barbarians were currently fleeing in panic, it decided that now was the time to strike... and so it did.

Somewhere in the forest...

"Damn it!" Ross cursed loudly as he and his men looked for a way out of the forest.

They didn’t dare to traverse the land in front of them so casually, for they had seen it claim many lives.

"You there! Scout the perimeter!" Ross ordered.

"B-But Chief! It’s dangerous!" the warrior replied.

"It is more dangerous if we stay here!" Ross shouted. "Do you want to die?! Huh?!"

Left with no choice, the warrior braved the danger and took a few steps forward. However, his foot had caught a vine, pulling it as he walked past it.

A moment later, the sound of something moving reached his ears. But before he could even investigate the source of the sound, a sharpened tree trunk came swinging on his side, striking him with brutal force.

The man didn’t even have a chance to scream as his body was impaled. Just like that, he suffered a tragic death.

Daedalus didn’t only place pitfall traps across the forest. He made sure to add a few more unconventional traps for the sole purpose of striking fear at the hearts of their enemies.

That way, even if there were survivors, they would forever remember this incident for the rest of their lives.
