My Kingdom Building Done Right!

Chapter 104: You Have No Power Here! [Part 2]

Chapter 104: You Have No Power Here! [Part 2]

The warrior’s tragic death made Ross and his men subconsciously take a step back.

The confidence and bravado they had when they first charged into the forest, thinking they could easily annihilate the Aslan Tribe, had long disappeared into thin air.

All they felt now was anxiety and fear, and it intensified with every scream they heard from who knew which part of the forest.

’Those bastards lied to me!’ Ross cursed the representatives who had reported the tragic fate of his subordinate, Varus, which prompted him to start this war for vengeance.

He didn’t want the other tribes to look down on him, so he had intended to annihilate the Aslan Tribe. He believed that doing so would recover his lost prestige. He even sought out the help of the Darkmane Tribe to ensure his victory.

His plan should’ve been perfect.

He had a righteous cause that gave him an excuse to bully a weaker tribe. Yet, the weak tribe he thought would easily collapse under pressure was safe and sound inside their fortress made of stone.

A fortress his subordinates had never mentioned!

If they told him about the fortress beforehand, then he would have prepared properly. He would have asked more support from the Darkmane Tribe and prepared for a prolonged siege!

’I can still do it,’ Ross thought. ’As long as I escape, I can make a comeback! I will rally the tribes and prepare for a siege! We will bring down the Aslan Tribe even if it’s the last thing I do!’

Fueled by his thoughts of revenge, Ross vowed he would not die in the forest.

Hundreds of his warriors surrounded him, and he was confident that he could escape as long as he patiently made his way out of the forest.

"Chop the trees in front of us!" Ross ordered, his saliva flying as he fought the fear in his heart. "Cut them down! We will make a path forward!"

""Yes, Chieftain!""

The warriors wielding axes coordinated with each other and started hacking the trees. They wanted to have a better view of their surroundings, so the trap that killed the pitiful warrior earlier would not fall upon them.

Meanwhile, Gundar flew toward the outskirts of the forest and urged his giant hawk to land beside the representatives of the Grimhowl Tribe.

"I greet the Great Shaman!" The eldest son of the Grimhowl Chieftain, Marcus, bowed in respect as soon as he saw Gundar.

""We greet the Great Shaman!""

The warriors of the Grimhowl Tribe also paid their respects.

"Great Uncle, what is happening inside the forest?" Marcus asked.

This was the question those waiting on the outskirts wanted to know. Since they didn’t want to participate in this war, they had only sent a few of their men to scout ahead and learn more about the situation that was happening in the forest.

Some still hadn’t come back, making them worried that something tragic had befallen them as well.

"Do not enter the forest," Gundar replied. "The Aslan Tribe has prepared countless traps. The last thing I want to happen is for you to die out of curiosity.

"Also, to answer your question, it is complete chaos there right now. People are dying left and right as we speak. Some fell to their deaths, while others fell into the traps we often plant to hunt prey.

"Lastly, the Aslan Tribe has already captured Travis of the Darkmane Tribe. He is currently being held in their custody for a ransom later on."

When the Chieftain of the Stormhorn Tribe, Brann, heard this, he couldn’t help but gasp in shock.

Even his son Gromm was in complete disbelief at this sudden turn of events. For them, the high-ranking tribes were out of their reach.

And yet, the Aslan Tribe not only made the allied tribes retreat, but also captured an important prisoner who would definitely make the Darkmane Tribe feel the pressure!

Just as Brann was trying to calm his wildly beating heart, a voice resounded across the battlefield, which they heard as well.

"Fools who have entered my domain, where is the arrogance that you once had?"

The voice echoed across the forest like a decree from the heavens. The tone had been teasing, yet it carried an undeniable weight that made those who heard it stop whatever they were doing to listen.

Every warrior who heard it stood frozen in place. Some instinctively tightened their grips on their weapons, while others looked around in panic, trying to locate the source of the voice.

But no matter where they turned, they saw nothing aside from the anxious and fearful expressions of their comrades, who only wished to escape the forest alive.

"You came here thinking you could trample my tribe with your superior numbers..." the voice continued, laced with ridicule and contempt. "But what is this? All I see are frightened monkeys, running away with their tails tucked between their legs."

Brann’s heart, which he had been forcing to calm down, continued to beat fast inside his chest.

The voice that spread across the battlefield belonged to the Chieftain of the Aslan Tribe, whom he wanted to meet!

"Do you mongrels now understand who you are dealing with?" Leone asked as he stood on top of the ramparts with his flag fluttering in the breeze. "All of you have no power here!"

The young man paused his speech for a while to make sure that all the listeners fully understood what he was saying.

He wanted them to understand how helpless they were contrary to his people who were safe behind their fortress walls.

"I can reap your lives without moving an inch from where I stand. Your life and death is mine to command. This is the kind of person who you thought you could step on like a bug!"

Travis, who was forced to listen to Leone’s speech from up close, could only grit his teeth in defeat. Despite being around the same age as him, the young man stood tall and proud against the forces that had come to invade his lands.

"Do you all wish to live? I can do that on one condition."

His voice made the anxious and fearful warriors suddenly feel hope because he was offering them a path to survival.

"What condition?!" Ross finally spoke up.

As long as he could escape the forest, he was willing to fulfill any condition!

He would swallow this humiliation and exact his revenge at a later time!

Several other warriors from the middle-ranked tribes, who had followed the call of the Darkmane Tribe, had also asked for the conditions Leone wanted.

"My condition is simple. Surrender the Chieftain of the Bloodtusk Tribe to me. I don’t care if he is dead... or alive. If he is dead, I want his corpse. If he is alive, drag him to me kicking and screaming if you have to.

"Do that, and I will allow you all a safe passage out of this forest. If you refuse... then you can stay in the forest and become fertilizer for the trees!"

The moment Ross heard Leone’s condition, his face immediately turned grim.

His warriors no longer looked at him with respect. Instead, every single one of them displayed expressions filled with desperation.

It was the kind of gaze that was clearly looking for a way out of this nightmare.

"D-Don’t listen to him!" Ross roared despite his fear. "He’s just talking nonsense! He’s just lying to all of you!"

But as if waiting for his reply, Leone’s voice once again resounded inside their heads.

"I’m not lying, though?" Leone said calmly. "I have already given you my condition. Whether you do it or not, that’s all up to you. Frankly, I hope none of you heed my words, just like how you ignored it when I gave you a warning before entering the forest.

"Take your time to decide. Meanwhile, I will continue this killing game to my heart’s content."

Leone took out the World Caller’s Whistle from his storage ring and blew on it.

This whistle would summon an Elemental two ranks higher than his rank.

Since Leone was a Rank 1 Hero King, the Elemental that he could summon would only be a Rank 3 Monster.

But that was fine.

He merely wanted to play around for a while.

The Elemental that materialized in front of him was an Earth Elemental. Its eyes were red, looking at Leone with the intention of killing him.

The chance of summoning a hostile Elemental was very high according to Daedalus. But again, that was fine.

He only needed to spend 1,000 BP to make Elementals that were Rank 5 and below his ally, and he had plenty of BP to spare!

"Kill as many of my enemies as you can," Leone ordered the Earth Elemental, whose eyes had now turned green after he paid the price to make it an ally. "Coordinate with my forces underground to hunt the Chieftain of the Bloodtusk Tribe!"

The Earth Elemental roared before jumping off the fortress walls. It curled itself up, turning into a giant boulder that rolled down the mountain with great force. It continued its momentum until it rolled into the forest, destroying the trees in its path.

With another ally to their cause, Fury, Russel, Fenn, and Blitz teamed up with the Earth Elemental and started their rampage across the forest floor.

Astravor soared to the sky, unleashing invisible wind blades left and right at the places where the barbarians congregated.

Meanwhile, the wolves led by Lucan continued their guerrilla tactics. They howled after securing their kill, spreading fear and madness wherever they went.

With traps all around them and a group of powerful monsters on the loose, the barbarians were faced with a difficult choice.

Either they obeyed Leone’s conditions, or resist till the bitter end.

Regardless of their choice, one thing was very clear.

Hundreds of them would continue to die, until Ross was delivered to Leone...

Dead, or Alive.
