Chapter 402: I Am Still Alive
Chapter 402: I Am Still Alive
...
Margaret was discharged from the hospital three days later.
Early in the morning, Julian had come to pick her up. Margaret glanced at him and said proudly, "I can go home with you, but I haven’t forgiven you. I hate Jessie."
She would be honest about that, and she didn’t care whether Julian would be angry or not.
She could abandon him at any time, and Julian would become a tramp. She was his boss!
Julian glanced at her with his dark eyes and said casually, "Mother is waiting for us at home. Don’t you want to go home?"
If she dared to offend Orlenna, she would stay in the hospital forever.
Margaret’s face turned pale as she thought of what Orlenna had said. Then she followed Julian and left the hospital.
Sitting in Julian’s car, Margaret continued, "I went back with you because I miss my mother."
Julian sighed resignedly and answered, "I see!"
He knew that it would be a waste of time to reason with her. He decided to shut up.
Their destination was where Orlenna lived. She had stayed in the hotel in the past few days as if she didn’t want to leave Far City.
Although it was strange, Margaret didn’t think much of it. She thought that Orlenna just wanted to accompany her for a longer time.
Orlenna must have felt bored after Margaret had got married to Julian and settled in Far City.
Probably it was because she missed Margaret too much and wanted to talk with Margaret.
"Why didn’t Hilla come?"
Hilla had been taken care of her in the past few days.
Although Margaret felt better after the operation, she would be embarrassed to stay with Julian sometimes.
"She is waiting for you at home. Do you need the whole family to pick you up?"
Julian retorted impatiently, and he seemed to be somewhat upset.
Orlenna must have taught him a lesson during these days.
Margaret was very satisfied with that, so she did not pay much attention to him.
She replied casually and said, "How is Jessie? Is she fine? Did she commit suicide by taking medicines or cutting her wrist? Did she stay in the same hospital with me?"
If Jessie did stay in the same hospital with Margaret, Margaret should have visited her.
Julian turned to look at her and said in a low voice, "You seem to be unhappy."
Margaret pouted and said in a low voice, "Why should I be happy? I asked it just out of concern."
"I didn’t expect that you’re so considerate."
Julian glanced at her coldly and did not want to argue with her.
Margaret smiled. Then she whispered, "I have always been considerate.
"Jessie is also my sister. Shouldn’t I care her?"
"Yes!"
Julian said resignedly. Margaret continued, "How is she? Is she still alive?"
Julian stared at her. Margaret winked and said in a low voice, "Sorry. I mean, how did she commit suicide but fail?"
The man took a deep breath and replied, "She cut her wrist. Some found her and sent her to the hospital. She didn’t hurt badly and went home directly."
"She still didn’t want to die."
Margaret muttered in a low voice. Jessie also knew that there was no need to risk her own life.
Margaret already had a deep understanding after reading many romance novels. Although Jessie wanted to make a fuss, she would not be that stupid to risk her life. "Why did she commit suicide?"
Margaret tilted her head and asked. Then she suddenly pointed at Julian and said in surprise, "Did she ask you to marry her? And you didn’t agree, so she chose to commit suicide."
How wicked Jessie was!
Julian glanced at her coldly and said sarcastically.
"Jessie is not that kind of person."
Jessie did not need to make a fuss like that. The Jorgansens knew what was in her mind.
Even if Jessie had the intention to commit suicide, the Jorgansens would try to stop her.
She didn’t force Julian to marry her.
"Yes. She has many tricks to play. I am just a stupid woman who got an appendix. "Why don’t I commit suicide too?"
Probably the female antagonist was skilled in this aspect.
"What are you talking about. Have a good rest. I’ll do with Jessie." Julian didn’t retort her. Margaret hummed and glanced at Julian, "How?" Did Julian want Jessie to die?
Julian must be extremely upset about that.
"What do you want to do?"
Julian turned to ask her. Margaret said nervously, "How could I know?"
She couldn’t kill Jessie by choking her, nor could she tell others that Jessie wanted to marry Bruce.
The Jorgansens would not believe what Margaret said.
What’s worse, Jessie would take this opportunity to let Margaret be the scapegoat.
"I will not make compromises. If you want to get divorced from me, I will agree. You will have nothing without me. And you will not be the heir of the Jorgansen family. You will be a poor guy without a single penny!"
Margaret threatened.
Julian looked at her in surprise.
He smiled and said casually, "That’s yours."
Margaret couldn’t believe it was true that Julian had given all his money to her.
She was stunned and thought, "Hilla didn’t lie to me."
Julian must have saved some money with him.
And probably he had made empty promises to deceive Orlenna and Bruce so that he could marry Margaret.
However, Margaret did not expect that Julian did give her all his money. "Did you give me all you have? Don’t you worry about that?"
What was he going to do if Margaret abandoned him and took all his money? "Why should I?"
Julian said seriously and continued, "Do you want to abandon me?"
Then he looked at Margaret tenderly. Margaret’s heart was beating hard.
Being startled, she immediately turned around and murmured, "Maybe I will."
She was as rich as Bruce.
In the future, she could do anything she wanted and feared nothing.
Julian’s eyes darkened. He glanced at Margaret and kept driving.
After a long while, Julian said in a low voice.
"No, you won’t. You are the kindest in the world!"
...
Julian’s voice was soft.
Margaret clearly heard what he had said.
These words were simple. She knew what Julian meant, but she didn’t believe that these words were from Julian.
She glanced at him and immediately turned around when Julian looked at her.
She tugged at the corner of her skirt and lowered her head, "I am a kind and pretty fairy."
She just wanted to make self-appraise.
Julian curled up his lip corner and smiled happily. "Yes, Margaret is the most beautiful in the world." Margaret felt a little awkward after being praised by Julian. Did Julian change? Or did he have a twin brother?
Did he suffer split personality? She would be scared by that.
They soon arrived at the villa.
As soon as Margaret got out of the car, Hilla came out and put a coat on her shoulders.
"It’s so cold outside. You have been discharged from the hospital. You’d better take good care of yourself."
Hilla said with a gentle smile on her face.
Hilla was like Margaret’s elder sister.
Margaret was stunned. She felt that Hilla was also a little strange.
"I’m fine. I’m not cold."
Margaret wanted to take off the coat. It was the early autumn, but the sun was warm in the noon.
"Put on it."
Hilla put the coat on Margaret’s shoulders before Margaret could take it off.
Margaret staggered slightly from Hilla’s strength. She looked nervously at Hilla.
Fortunately, she was taller than Hilla. Otherwise, she would be pulled by Hilla and fall onto the ground.
Margaret looked at Hilla and asked, "Are you sure it is cold?"
Hilla nodded and said, "Of course it’s cold. You are still weak after the operation.
Your voice is weak too. Go back to your room and take a rest."
Hilla said seriously. Margaret could not help but suspect that she had other diseases apart from the appendix.
She also thought of Julian’s attitude on the way home.
Did they want Margaret to spend her last days at home?
Being supported by Hilla, Margaret seemed to be unable to stand steadily.
What should she do? She was close to losing her balance.
"Mind your steps. Take easy."
Hilla said in a soft voice. Margaret pursed her lips and was about to say something.
The door opened.
It was Sophie.
"Sophie!"
Margaret was stunned for a moment as if she did not expect Sophie here.
Wasn’t she taking care of Marcos? Was Marcos also here?
How could that be?
Sophie looked at Margaret and smiled. She asked in a soft voice, "Here you are, Margaret. How do you feel?"
"I’m fine." Margaret smiled faintly and said, "Sorry to bother you. I’m fine. The doctor said I should take medicine and have more rest. However, I still feel tired of standing longer and speaking frequently. And my stomach doesn’t feel well. But I will not die earlier."
Sophie was lost for words.
Sophie curled her lip corner and said with a faint smile, "Happy to hear that you’re fine. You must take care of yourself. You and Julian can have babies later. Health matters most."
Margaret frowned. It didn’t sound like Sophie was worried about her health.
She and Marcos could not give birth to any children. Did she begin to worry for Julian?
Margaret looked at Hilla and suddenly understood why Hilla had asked her to put on the coat.
She was disappointed, extremely disappointed.
"Thank you for your concern. Margaret is still young. She will give birth to babies after she recovers."
Hilla said with a smile. Then she and Margaret walked past Sophie and entered the villa.
Margaret was ready to meet the rest of them in the house.
When Margaret entered the house, she saw Orlenna, with Brittany and Marry on her both sides.
On the opposite of Orlenna was Sally.
For Margaret, it would be a hard nut to crack.
Orlenna saw Margaret and smiled warmly.
"Here you are. How do you feel? Hearing that you will be discharged from the hospital, Brittany and Marry came here to see you. Are you in a daze? Come here and greet them."
Orlenna remained calm when sitting among the people from the Jorgansen family.
Although the Jorgansen outnumbered Orlenna, Orlenna didn’t fear at all.
On the contrary, Orlenna looked even more domineering.
Margaret could not help but admire Orlenna for her courage.
She suddenly understood why Orlenna and Hilla didn’t pick her up from the hospital.
It was because they got guests here.
Hearing that, Margaret slowly walked towards them.
"Mom, Brittany, Marry, and Sally. How are you?"
Margaret, who was standing far away and looking pale, said in a weak voice.
"Margaret has just been discharged from the hospital. The doctor said she should have a good rest. Margaret needs to mind herself. Miscarriage does matter a lot. She might be unable to give birth to babies in the future."
Did she miscarry her baby?
Didn’t she just cut an appendix?
Margaret immediately turned to look at Hilla and couldn’t believe what she had said.
When did she get pregnant? Why didn’t she know that?
"Go back to your room and take a rest. A woman is weak after giving birth to a baby and suffering miscarriage. You’re still weak with wet sweat on your forehead. Go back to your room. You’re still young. You will have children in the future."
Marry seldom went out and left her place.
She looked at Margaret tenderly and said in a soft voice.
Brittany also didn’t scold her but said, "Make some chicken soup for Margaret. She needs great care."
She seldom said many words like this.
Margaret looked at them in disbelief.
Hilla, next to Margaret, puller her back and smiled, "Margaret doesn’t feel well and doesn’t want to speak. I’ll take her to the room for a rest."
"Pay attention to the air- conditioner. Keep the room warmer. Have a rest, and you will recover soon. You’re still young. It was Jessie’s fault. We will do it with her. Don’t be too sad."
Margaret thought, "Why should I be sad after cutting the appendix?"
She still nodded and glanced at Orlenna. Then she followed Hilla and went upstairs.
She finally understood that.
She had miscarried the baby because of Jessie.
