Chapter 364: Evidence for Mother-in-Law
Chapter 364: Evidence for Mother-in-Law
...
"Julian, you have gone too far. I can’t take so much luggage!"
Margaret was so anxious to get out of the car that she almost fell. Fortunately, Evan helped her up.
She was the kind that didn’t feel like moving after eating. In such cases, Julian was simply inhuman letting her pull the suitcase and walking half a mile in high heels.
Evan looked at her sympathetically and said, "Mrs. Jorgansen, if you want to travel, you can have the driver go with you in the future."
He must be monitoring her!
Margaret snorted and rolled her eyes. She would definitely not accept being monitored!
Walking inside with the luggage, she found no servant all the way. She was going to ask a servant to help her at first.
The wheel pressed against the gravel road, letting out a muffled rumble.
It was already summer, which made it exceptionally hot along the way even it was at night.
Feeling the sweat on her back, Margaret could not help but frown, "Evan, help me with the luggage."
She was exhausted. It was too difficult to walk on high heels on this kind of road. Julian did make the "good" choice!
Evan glanced at Julian, who was walking in front of him with a straight and broad back. However, he looked extremely relentless and cold.
With his head lowered, Evan said with helplessness, "Mrs. Jorgansen, don’t make things difficult for me."
He had to obey what Julian had ordered just now.
Margaret frowned, "Fine. Call a servant over for me."
"I’ll take responsibility if he gets angry."
She had gotten used to this. Suffering one more time from Julian was just nothing.
"It’s not that I don’t want people to help you, but before you came back, Mr. Jorgansen had already dismissed all the servants here."
Evan secretly wiped away his cold sweat. If he had not served Julian for so many years, he was probably sent away now.
Margaret was shocked and could not help but raise her voice, "What’s wrong with him? Why did he fire everyone?"
So no one was cleaning such a big villa? Would Julian act like those perverted and
overbearing presidents in novels?
Would he force her to be a maid?
In no way would she do it! No matter what, she was a daughter of a famous family. How could she be a maid?
Evan was so scared that he quickly lowered his head, not daring to look at Julian in front. He hurriedly said, "I’m going to see if the dinner is ready. Mrs. Jorgansen, be careful when you walk."
Without waiting for Margaret to respond, Evan slipped away without looking back.
"I’ve already had it."
Seeing Evan leaving, Margaret grumbled.
At the time she raised her head, she noticed that Julian suddenly stopped and turned to her.
Margaret’s heart skipped a beat in face of Julian’s deep gaze. Awkwardly twisting her body a little, she slowly walked to Julian with her luggage.
Julian’s gaze landed on her soft hair. With the light from the roadside, he could faintly see her hair that was drenched in sweat.
While Margaret stood in front of him with her head lowered but remained silent.
She was like a child who had done something wrong but was stubborn and refused to admit her mistake.
She just stood still as he didn’t say anything. Neither of them had tried to break the deadlock.
But soon a big hand reached out to her.
Margaret raised her head and looked at Julian with a frown, "What do you mean?"
"You are exhausted, don’t you? Give it to me."
Julian’s gaze fell on the suitcase in Margaret’s hand.
All of a sudden, Margaret had a brainwave. She immediately put down the suitcase, where she quickly sat on it without waiting for Julian to turn around.
Julian’s body swayed because of the load that was suddenly being added to the suitcase. When he turned around and saw Margaret sitting on it, he frowned and was full of disgust.
"Get down."
"I can’t walk anymore. You are pulling the suitcase anyway. I am not very heavy."
After saying that, she gave Julian a big smile and said with an innocent face, "Only a hundred pounds more."
"Get down!"
"No, I really can’t walk anymore. Look at my feet, there are blisters."
Margaret complained and quickly lifted her feet from the high heels.
The shoes were newly bought and she was still getting used to them. There was indeed a shallow red mark on her back foot, like a blister.
She grabbed Julian’s hand with grievance and said pitifully, "Just pull me back. The car is not here. It’s difficult for me to walk on the gravel road. My feet are hurting!"
The more she thought about it, the more she felt that he had done it on purpose.
There was a spacious asphalt road that led directly to the villa here. It was flat and easy to walk, but Julian just chose this difficult one.
She didn’t even blame him for getting her being like this!
Julian’s gaze swept across her face and a faint reminder came up.
"Sit properly. If you fall, blame yourself."
After saying that, Margaret felt her body sway and the luggage on the gravel road made an even heavier rumbling sound.
The wheels kept rumbling.
A dull sound echoed the entire villa area, which was particularly clear in this quiet courtyard.
Time seemed to have slowed down as well.
The shadow that was elongated by the street lamps crossed the gravel road and landed on the roses aside.
They moved slowly, along with the fragrance from the red roses that filled both sides of the road.
Till they entered the house, Margaret jumped down from the suitcase all at once. Without a second thought, she casually took off her high heels and was about to run upstairs, leaving the shoes in disorder.
"Wait!"
Julian’s low voice swept through the entire room and stopped the girl in the middle of the stairs.
Margaret turned her head and looked at Julian in dissatisfaction. She grumbled, "It’s so late. My feet are hurting. If there is anything, we can talk about it tomorrow."
With that, she tugged at the corner of her clothes and muttered, "I’m sleepy." "Just forget the divorce agreement!" Margaret thought.
With his chin up, Julian threw away the luggage lever in his hand and said in a deep voice, "Put the slippers on."
Margaret still wanted to say something. But as she opened her mouth, she said
nothing in case of bringing up an argument. She ran back with her bare feet and took out a pair of female slippers from the shoe cabinet and put them on.
"It’s OK now, right?"
Margaret wondered, "Men are really troublesome, especially those unpredictable psychos."
Julian replied indifferently. Then his voice came up after he turned around and walked straight to the dining room, "Come and din with me."
Din with him?
"Are you a three-year-old child that still needs accompany?" Margaret complained in mind.
"I’ve already had it..."
Just as Margaret finished speaking, Julian suddenly turned his head to her with his lips curled into a faint smile. He said strangely, "I haven’t!"
Margaret wondered, "So? Do you need me to feed you in person?"
...
Margaret watched him having dinner.
She had already eaten. After having some bites of rice, she could finally return to the room.
When Margaret heard Julian enter the bathroom, she quickly jumped off the bed and searched for her things.
She clearly remembered that the divorce agreement was on the bedside table. Now that it was gone, it must have been taken away by Julian.
If he gave it to Orlenna, she would definitely break Margaret’s legs.
"Or has he already thrown it into the trash can?"
Margaret thought it was very possible.
If Julian really wanted to divorce her, he would have already signed the contract.
He didn’t divorce her and even personally went to the roadside stall to pick her up. It meant that she was still useful to him.
Therefore he wouldn’t give it to Orlenna.
Margaret nervously returned to the bed and sent a message to Hilla.
Hilla should come earlier if Margaret was going to hold another wedding in Far City.
Otherwise, she would have no support without a family here.
After the message was sent, the bathroom door opened. Julian walked out of the bathroom drenched. He glanced at Margaret, who was at a loss on the bed, and frowned slightly.
"Are you done? Then I’m going to take a shower."
As she spoke, she ran to the bathroom. Julian glanced at her and said coldly, "You need the phone when you bathe?"
"Shower is boring. I’ll play some music."
She rushed into the bathroom before he could say something.
She wanted to tell Hilla how this man bullied her. It was a wise choice for Hilla not to choose Julian as her husband.
An hour later.
Julian stood outside and looked at the closed bathroom door. He said coldly, "How long do you need to take a bath?"
She wasn’t afraid of peeling. Taking a bath for an hour was enough for her skin to peel twice.
"Alright, alright. I’m just taking a shower. Why don’t you go to the hospital to hasten
child delivery?"
Margaret opened the bathroom door and stood at the door with a gloomy face. She rolled her eyes unhappily at Julian.
She muttered, "The pregnant women who struggle to give birth to children in the hospital will definitely like the face. The business will be very good and the hospital can make more money."
"Margaret, do you think that your pocket money is too little, or that the Jorgansen Group is not as rich as a maternity hospital?"
After saying that, Julian looked at Margaret and the corners of his mouth suddenly curled into a significant smile.
"You like doctors at the maternity hospital so much. Do you want me to send you there?"
"What? Personal injury is illegal."
Margaret covered herself and looked at the man in front of her with vigilance.
Julian ignored it and grabbed her wrist, pulling her back to the room.
Margaret fell onto the bed and then stood up.
She was vigilant as if Julian would come over and strip off her clothes at any time.
"Sit down."
"No."
Why should she sit down, and on the bed? This man must have wanted to take revenge on her because of the divorce agreement today.
Didn’t he want to force her with his strength? No, she would refuse it.
Before the second wedding, she refused all the bad behaviors. She had to resist desperately even in his place.
Julian’s gaze flashed past her guarded little face. He impatiently pushed her back onto the bed. He coldly warned before Margaret could resist, "Do not move."
"What do you want?"
"Don’t move. I won’t be responsible if the needle is inserted into the flesh."
Only then did Margaret realize that Julian was holding her ankle with one hand and holding a thin needle with another.
Margaret couldn’t help but shiver as she looked at the shiny needle that he had pulled out from the alcohol.
"Julian, be careful."
"Don’t, don’t shake your hand! I’ll get angry if you stab me in the flesh."
Margaret muttered, but her gaze was fixed on the needle in Julian’s hand. She nervously grabbed the blanket under her.
The man was a little annoyed by her nagging. He looked up at her and sneered, "Is it my hand or your foot? Can’t you see?"
"I, I won’t shake anymore. You have to be careful."
Margaret said with a hoarse voice, but her eyes were still fixed on the needle in Julian’s hand.
Julian was helpless. "Do you think I want to touch your stinky feet? It will hurt you even more tomorrow if you don’t needle the blister."
Margaret curled the corners of her mouth with her face full of unwillingness.
"My feet don’t stink. When I was showering, I used body wash. You can smell them."
Then she raised her foot to Julian.
Julian subconsciously stepped back and put his hand in front of his face. His eyebrows knitted tightly, full of disgust.
Seeing the disgusted and forbearing expressions on his face, Margaret was full of pride, and she stretched her foot forward.
"Smell it, Julian. It doesn’t stink."
"Move it away."
"Come on, smell it. It was clean."
’Do you think it’s a pig’s foot? You can eat it after washing it clean.’
"Margaret, don’t go too far."
The man warned coldly. He grabbed her outstretched foot and put it on his leg.
"If you don’t behave yourself, I will do it."
He raised the needle in his hand and it gently fell.
The tip of the needle touched the crystal blister and was slightly raised, then white liquid inside flowed out.
All these were done in one go. After cleaning up, he applied medicine to her. Looking at the man who was seriously putting on a bandage, Margaret carefully examined his hair.
His hair, which hadn’t been completely dried after a shower, looked even darker. Margaret sized him up. Indeed, a man looked the best when he was serious. "Don’t touch the water for two days."
He let her foot go. Watching Julian get up and leave with the medicine box, Margaret immediately reached out and grabbed him, "Where is the divorce agreement?"
The man’s eyes darkened and the gentleness on his face dissipated. He said coldly, "The marriage between the Anderson family and the Jorgansen family is a win-win situation. Back then, when the Anderson family was in danger, I reached out to you. It is time for the Anderson family to repay me. Don’t think about divorce. I need this marriage to stabilize my position in the Jorgansen family."
It was hard for him to say so much to her.
Margaret rolled her eyes and shook off his arm.
"You don’t need to remind me. I knew very well that you married me because you took a fancy to the status of the Anderson family. It doesn’t matter. You can return the divorce agreement. Anyway, I don’t want to divorce now. Don’t give it to my mother. For the sake of my family, I can also act as a lovely couple with you."
Margaret raised her head with her face full of arrogance.
Didn’t think that she would be grateful just because he needled a blister for her? She, Margaret, would never bow to any man.
Julian pursed his lips. His dark eyes flashed with light. He stared at the woman sitting on the bed in front of him, feeling hard to read her mind.
After a while, the man said, "It’s getting late. Have a rest."
He wanted to send her to bed just like that?
Margaret said angrily, "Where’s the divorce agreement?"
The man looked at her with a faint smile and said unhurriedly, "Of course I have to keep such good evidence. I will show it to my mother-in-law..."
