Chapter 363: Let Her Handle It
Chapter 363: Let Her Handle It
"Mr. Jorgansen, I am Lily!"
In front of an open-air barbecue stall, Lily glanced at the woman who was eating without any elegance and smiled in a low voice to please her.
As soon as she finished speaking, as expected, she heard Mr. Jorgansen’s cold and ruthless voice.
"What’s the matter?"
"It’s fine, no, it’s fine."
Lily wiped her face. After a long while, she forced a smile on her stiff face. She counted the skewers on the table and whispered.
"Mrs. Jorgansen is with me. She has been used up my salary. Can you pay it to me?"
After saying that, she quickly took a sip of beer and said with a grievance, "Margaret asked me to say this. She said that she would treat this meal and you would pay for it. You know that it will be the end of the month soon. My family has no money and my brother is going to get married. He just bought a house and has to renovate it. There is also..."
"Address."
The man said coldly, as if he didn’t want to hear her words.
Lily quickly said, "I will send you the address right away."
She did not forget to say, "Margaret said that she would be staying at my house for a few days. You know, my house is small, and there is only one bedroom. She can’t live in it, so you’d better take her back."
Although she couldn’t see the man’s expression, Lily could feel the tension in the phone, and she suddenly breathed a sigh of relief.
Margaret suddenly said, "Boss, bring me more crayfish."
After she finished speaking, she turned her gaze to Lily and frowned. "You haven’t finished calling your mother yet? May I say a few words to your mother?"
"No, no, no, no. My mother hung up a long time ago."
She was afraid that Margaret did not believe her and quickly waved the phone in front of her eyes.
Margaret narrowed her eyes and did not see clearly, only urging, "Hurry up. I’m starving to death. After that, I’ll go to your house to live for two days. Don’t worry, I’ll ask Hilla to transfer the rent to you."
Margaret originally wanted to return to Julian’s villa, but after thinking about it, Margaret felt that she should be determined.
How could she retreat when she encountered a small setback? She was clearly not
such a person who would give up easily.
Since she had asked him for a divorce, she should insist on divorce. If she endured it again and again, wouldn’t that make Julian look down on her in the future?
"Don’t worry about the rent. It doesn’t matter. You might not be able to live there anyway."
Lily smiled guiltily. Seeing Margaret stop, she hurriedly urged, "Hurry up and eat. Wasn’t hungry? How pitiful!"
If Mr. Jorgansen were to see his newly married wife starve to such an extent, how distressed would he be?
Margaret looked at Lily suspiciously. She suddenly took a chicken wing and asked, "Who did you call earlier?"
"My mother. Who can I call at such a late hour except for my parents?"
"After all, I still have a long way to go. I still have to rely on someone powerful."
Margaret looked at Lily muttering to herself and could not help but mutter, "What are you muttering about? Hurry up and eat. You don’t know. What I wanted the most when I returned to River City was the barbecue here. The chicken wings are the best."
Margaret’s face was full of joy. When she ate the food she liked, her mood suddenly became better. She could not even feel the fatigue of the day.
She could not help but eat a few more crayfish happily.
The two women were eating skewers and drinking at a small roadside barbecue stall until the black Maybach stopped in front of them.
Margaret looked at the man who got out of the car and subconsciously looked at Lily who was facing her.
Lily sensed it and instantly jumped up from her seat.
"I remember it. The gas is not off. Oh my god, it’s too dangerous. I have to go home and take a look."
"Lily Hart!"
"This meal is your treat. I will leave first. Our friendship is priceless. See you in the future."
As Lily spoke, her figure had already disappeared.
She ran as if there was a wolf chasing her from behind. She didn’t dare to turn her head back, afraid that Julian would kill her tomorrow.
"Friendship? Do I still have friendship with you?"
Margaret was so angry that she almost threw the bamboo stick in her hand.
Lily had promised to take her in for a few nights, but she was not loyal at all.
Julian walked to the dining table and directly sat down at Lily’s seat. His gaze was like a torch, and it struck straight into Margaret’s heart.
"Have you finished your meal?"
Julian said indifferently.
Margaret, who had just felt that the weather was hot, suddenly felt a burst of frost coming towards her.
She awkwardly sat down and said guiltily, "No, not yet."
"How does it taste?"
"Still okay..."
Margaret replied in a low voice. She did not forget to look up at the man. Margaret’s hands, which were hidden under the table, were intertwined.
What should she do? Why did she feel flustered?
"You have gone back home?"
If he didn’t go home first, he probably didn’t see what she put on the bedside table, so she still had a chance.
Julian looked at her, and the corners of his mouth suddenly curved into a strange sneer.
The smile was strange. Margaret clearly heard the man’s calm answer. "Yes." Margaret felt death approaching.
Julian seemed to be afraid that she wouldn’t understand. He explained very "kindly", "I read the divorce agreement. The content is not bad. It was copied on the Internet!"
Margaret was speechless.
She had not only experienced the man’s disdain for her, but also the humiliation.
"Well, it’s about the same anyway. It’s troublesome to rewrite one. Isn’t that convenient?"
Margaret felt that the more she spoke, the quieter she became. The sight the man looked at her was like a poisoned knife, almost scraping her scalp.
Margaret buckled the bamboo stick on the table and heard Julian’s laughter. "It seems that I still have to look at you in a new light. You have improved a lot. There is nothing wrong with the file layout. You have made great progress."
Margaret felt uneasy.
After receiving such high praise from Julian, Margaret was shocked.
"Actually, it’s just an agreement. If you don’t agree, you can pretend that you have never seen it, and you don’t have to sign it."
"Why? If I don’t sign it, are you going to sue for divorce? I didn’t expect that you, who cares so much about the Anderson family, would do such a thing."
"Since your divorce agreement is so good, do you want me to introduce you to work for the civil service department?"
Julian said slowly, as if it was not worth mentioning.
"No. Now that the divorce rate is so high, I definitely won’t be able to make it if I go there. Besides, the salary there is too low and it’s not enough for me. I am a noble lady from a wealthy family. Why do I have to work so hard? Isn’t it nice to wait at home for you to give me living expenses?"
...
At night, in Far City, the traffic was shuttling through the intersection.
Margaret finished the meal. She glanced at Julian, who was silent for a while and hesitantly took a bunch of chicken over. She whispered, "Do you want to eat?"
Julian looked down and swept his gaze over her finger which was stained with sauce. He said expressionlessly, "No, thank you."
Margaret quickly retracted her hand. She was not willing to let him eat the chicken at all.
She rolled her eyes and poured a glass of beer. "Do you want to have a taste?" He sat opposite her without eating or drinking, which made her feel panicked. "No, I should drive home later."
Only then did Margaret realize that Julian had driven over by himself. He didn’t call the driver, which was not the style of a big boss.
"I’ll drink it myself."
She should drink more as she didn’t want to be too sober.
"By the way, this meal is on you, right?"
After saying that, she met Julian’s gaze and hurriedly said in a wronged tone, "I can’t use the card. The card you gave me can only be used in the large shopping mall. It can’t be used here, so I have to call Lily over."
"By the way, you can deduct this from her salary. She betrayed her best friend. You must teach her a lesson."
At the thought of Lily running faster than a rabbit, Margaret was very unhappy.
Seeing that Julian was silent, Margaret immediately became a little anxious. "It’s not that I don’t want to pay. It’s because you didn’t give me any money, and the card you gave to me can’t be used in this kind of place."
The money she got from Bruce was all taken away by Julian in the end.
Otherwise, would she be so embarrassing?
With the money, she should be on the way back to River City now.
Not to mention the money given by Bruce, but there was also some cash that Hilla had especially given her.
How could Julian be so mean?
"Why don’t you give me the money first?"
Margaret secretly stretched out her hand. Her palm was fair and tender, but the oil
and sauce on her hand were also very clear.
The next second, Margaret’s hand was held, and before she could react, Julian pulled her over.
He took a piece of tissue and wiped the oil from Margaret’s hand.
"Don’t you know that as you are married, all your property should share with me? The money belongs to both of us."
"Then why don’t you give me money first?"
Margaret asked tentatively. The next second, Julian pulled her forward.
He wiped her hand patiently. Her fingers were already clear, but he insisted on wiping them one by one for a long time.
Under the light, it could be seen that Julian was serious. He smiled faintly.
His face was gentle under the light. Even his deep and cold eyes were filled with gentleness.
Margaret panicked and quickly pulled her hand out of his palm.
Blushing, she muttered in a low voice, "If you don’t want to give it to me, then forget it."
"If you don’t run around, I can give it to you."
Julian finally spoke, and the words he spoke were sexy and mellow, which were particularly pleasant.
Why hadn’t she noticed before that Julian’s voice was so charming?
Margaret quickly nodded. She said with anticipation, "I won’t run away, I promise I won’t go anywhere in the future. If you ask me to go east, I won’t go west. If I run away from home again, you can break my legs... No, it’s a little too violent. You can reason with me. I am still very sensible."
Margaret smiled sweetly. She blinked her eyes, looking innocent.
Well, when she got the money, she would immediately break up their relationship.
Julian smiled. That smile did not seem to reach his eyes, but it was exceptionally gentle.
"You are so lovely? If I tell you to go east, you will never go west?"
Margaret was touched and secretly covered her chest.
She muttered softly, "I can’t say for sure. After all, nothing is absolute. It depends on the situation."
Obviously, he wanted to seduce her with his handsome appearance, so she couldn’t be so impatient.
Thinking about Bruce, the man who had once snatched away a woman from Julian,
she felt that he was the role model for men.
Unlike Bruce, Julian only had a good-looking appearance, and Margaret was not such a superficial woman.
Julian did not seem to be surprised as she went back on her word. If she was so obedient, she was not Margaret.
"Are you full?"
"I’m full."
"Get on the car!"
After Julian finished speaking, he stood up and walked towards the car on the side of the road without turning his head.
Seeing that, Margaret quickly pulled up her luggage and followed him. She did not forget to grab the corner of his clothes before he got into the car. She glanced at the barbecue stall not far away and whispered, "I haven’t paid for the meal yet."
She had no money. Sensing the stall owner’s gaze, Margaret grabbed Julian’s arm tightly.
"You will pay me for the meal, right?"
If he refused, then she had a reason to complain to her mother.
Julian seemed to be able to see through her thoughts. He pulled her arm off and walked towards the stall owner. He quickly paid the money and returned.
Margaret happily pulled her luggage into the car.
On the way back home, Margaret was a little nervous. From time to time, she secretly looked at Julian, who was beside her, and the uneasiness in her heart expanded.
"Didn’t anyone tell you that looking at a man with this kind of gaze, it’s easy to get into an ’accident’?"
Margaret frowned and looked at him with disdain. "Is your driving skill so bad?"
The man turned his head, and the smile on his face was strange under the dim light.
His deep voice sounded on the entire carriage. "Didn’t you know about my skill?"
Margaret felt that she was teased.
"Focus on driving. I don’t want to die young."
Margaret shrank back and leaned against the car door, keeping a safe distance from the man.
The car stopped at the gate of the hillside villa and did not drive inside.
Margaret looked at Julian who got out of the car and said anxiously, "Why don’t you drive in?"
This courtyard was so big, should they walk in?
Julian turned to look at the woman in the car. Suddenly, a smile appeared on his face. It was hard to tell his emotion from his tone. "We have just finished the meal, and walking is good for our health."
After saying that, he ordered Evan, "No one is allowed to help her carry her luggage. Let her handle it herself."
