Chapter 365: Stay Close to Him
Chapter 365: Stay Close to Him
"Julian, how dare you!"
Margaret looked at Julian’s back and angrily rolled on the bed.
As a high-born lady, now she lived even worse than a working girl. She should have stayed overseas and never come back even if she was beaten to death.
No, she should have never got married.
Evan looked at the man coming downstairs and handed over the divorce agreement nervously.
Julian glanced at it, tore it off, and threw it into the trash can.
He turned and said, "Inform all the media that I will buy all the reports they have at the wedding. Since it is a marriage between the Jorgansen family and the Anderson family, let’s expand the influence of the wedding."
Evan was stunned, wondering why Julian changed his mind.
However, he still nodded in agreement. It was likely that after this wedding ceremony, the entire nation would have to know what Miss Anderson and the heir of the Jorgansen Group were like.
After receiving Margaret’s message, Hilla had been very nervous. When she saw Orlenna, she was obviously a little guilty. "Did Margaret cause trouble again?"
Hilla pursed her lips and said in a low voice, "Margaret said that she wants to divorce..."
"She’s messing around again. She can’t divorce whenever she wants."
"Mother, perhaps Margaret is really dissatisfied with this marriage. The Jorgansen family is too complicated. I am afraid that Margaret will be wronged in the future."
Orlenna’s face darkened and she said coldly, "No one doesn’t feel wronged in their marriage. She always has problems. Don’t worry about her. She can’t live without money."
"Isn’t it too harsh to treat Margaret like this?"
Hilla looked worried. Orlenna hesitated for a moment, but she still said, "I understand my daughter. She won’t make big trouble. She is just messing around. As for Julian..."
Orlenna’s face darkened. She could bully her daughter, but she didn’t allow others to bully her.
"I can’t give him a lesson. If it weren’t for his sincere attitude, Margaret wouldn’t have married him. You should give him a warning when you go to the wedding this time. Tell him not to go too far."
However, thinking that Julian’s assets were all in her hands, Orlenna was not worried.
"I don’t ask Julian to be so devoted to Margaret, but I don’t allow him to bully my daughter."
Hilla nodded and said worriedly, "Why don’t you give Margaret some money?"
Orlenna shook her head. "No. That damned girl, she’ll mess around if she has money. It’s better for her to stay quiet. She’s already married, why can’t she learn to be obedient?"
Margaret used to go abroad and not come back for one or half a year. Orlenna had worried too much about her. Moreover, after the matter with Bruce, she hoped that Margaret could stay at home peacefully.
It was good that she was safe, even if she had to stay in the Jorgansen’s.
Knowing Orlenna’s attitude, Hilla didn’t dare to say anything more and went back to her room to rest.
Recently, Horton had gone to Japan for an exchange meeting. Halle was in the studio alone with Emily. When Hilla came, Halle was in the bathroom.
Hearing Halle felt uncomfortable in the bathroom, Hilla was slightly startled and looked at Stella.
"Halle has vomited so badly since yesterday. She doesn’t eat anything. She said she wanted some lemon juice, but..."
Stella glanced in the direction of the bathroom. She did not expect Halle to vomit after taking a sip.
She bought the same for everyone, and they all felt it was delicious.
Stella was aggrieved. Her eyes were red and her face was full of anxiety, but she did not know what to do. "Hilla, how about I call the ambulance?"
Seeing the anxious look on her face, Hilla smiled and said, "It’s okay. I’ll take care of her. You can go and do your work. I’ll have to trouble any of you to go to the kindergarten to pick up Emily after school."
"I’ll go!"
Stella quickly got up and walked out with her bag.
Hilla saw Halle coming out of the bathroom, looking pale, as if she had just suffered a great disaster.
She quickly stepped forward and asked, "How are you? Are you feeling better? Did you eat something bad?"
Hilla asked tentatively. Halle couldn’t help but smile, "It’s like you haven’t given birth before. Do you need to be so careful?"
It was as Hilla expected...
"Halle, have you told Horton?"
She didn’t expect Halle to have a second child so quickly. She felt incredible about such high efficiency.
Looking at Halle’s belly, she was both happy and distressed.
Halle was so busy now in the studio, and she took care of Emily alone. Now that she was pregnant, she must have been more upset recently.
Halle did not mind and touched her flat belly. Her face was full of smiles. "Not yet. I want to wait until he returns from Japan."
It was also a distraction to Horton if she told him now. This academic exchange meeting was very important to Horton, and she did not want to cause him trouble.
Hearing this, Hilla frowned slightly and pulled Halle to sit down. "You should tell Horton. Maybe he can come back early if he is free?"
"I’m not that delicate. Besides, what can he do if he comes back early? He can’t give birth to a child for me."
Hilla pursed her lips and muttered as she looked at Halle’s stomach.
"When you were pregnant with Emily, he didn’t accompany you the whole time. He should be here to witness it this time."
"It seems that you are talking about signing an agreement. You have to look at each of the terms clearly."
The smile on Halle’s face did not decrease because of the discomfort in her stomach.
Unlike the loneliness and helplessness she had felt when she had been pregnant for the first time, Halle now felt full and satisfied.
Although it was hard, it was a kind of happiness for her.
"Halle, you need to be careful. The baby is small. Don’t do anything tiring in the studio. I have nothing to do recently, so I can come and help you more."
Hilla carefully poured Halle a glass of warm water. Now, Halle was the key person to protect.
"Horton is really lucky. He married you and you gave him a daughter, and now you are pregnant with another child. Is it easier for a doctor to have a child?"
Halle saw her complaining and could not help but laugh.
"How could it be easier? Don’t I need to give birth to him after ten months of pregnancy? I just think that this child came a little too fast."
She was not sure if Horton would be happy when he knew, but he had said before that he wanted a second child. He should be happy about it.
"No, not at all. It is not as fast as your first pregnancy. You got pregnant on the first
try. I would suspect that Horton had taken medicine in advance to make you pregnant so easily."
After Hilla finished speaking, she felt very embarrassed. Her face turned red and she laughed along.
She was envious of Halle’s life now and was happy to see the smile on her face.
Unlike before, she used to be gentle and indifferent, full of vigilance for everything.
Now, Halle was the kind and smart sister she had known since she was a child.
"Let me guess if this is a boy or a girl."
Hilla smiled and touched Halle’s belly, making Halle laugh.
It was good whether it was a boy or a girl. Having three meals a day, accompanied by a lover and two cute and mischievous children, she thought it was what she imagined about home!
...
After Halle got pregnant, she always felt sick, which was more serious than that when she was pregnant with Emily.
Seeing Halle run to the bathroom and vomit from time to time, Hilla felt distressed.
"Halle, drink some water."
Halle shook her head. She even wanted to vomit after she drank the water now.
"Then why don’t you go to the hospital?"
Hilla was a little nervous. Halle’s situation was far worse than hers.
However, she also felt helpless. This was what a woman must experience when she was pregnant. Halle had to experience all these by herself. Hilla couldn’t help alleviate her pain.
"I’m fine. I just need to rest for a while. It’s just that I can’t help it this time. I should be fine in a few days."
Halle smiled weakly and leaned against the sofa.
"If you don’t want to go to the hospital, you should tell Horton. He is a doctor and he can take better care of you."
It might take a few more days for Horton to finish his meeting, so Halle would have to suffer these days.
Hilla wanted to persuade Halle to tell Horton, but Halle was stubborn and did not agree.
"It doesn’t matter. I can take care of myself. I’m not a child. Horton said that he would come back as soon as possible."
Even if he did not know that she was pregnant, Horton would not waste time in Toulon. She believed that no matter how far he went, he still cared about her and Emily.
Seeing this, Hilla could only nod with a sigh.
"Fine. I’ve been here for a few days. Don’t care about the matters in the studio. Stella can handle them. Just wait for Horton."
Hilla could only be at ease when there was some taking care of Halle.
"I’m not busy with other things, but I’ve made a promise to Margaret that I will make the phoenix coronet and wedding dress for her. I have finished the basic embroidery. You can do the rest."
Only when she let Hilla finish the rest of Margaret’s dress could she feel at ease.
"Alright. I’ll do all of this. I was thinking of going to Far City with you to visit Margaret. I didn’t expect you to be like this. You should stay here and rest."
There would be too many people at the wedding. She was afraid that Halle would get hurt.
Looking at Halle’s belly, Hilla felt distressed about her.
Halle had been pregnant twice and no one took care of her at the beginning. Hilla did not blame Horton, but she was just worried about Halle.
"Halle, you have to take good care of yourself and give birth to the baby safely."
"I know. It’s not the first time I have experienced this. Don’t worry too much. I won’t let myself suffer."
Hilla pouted and said in a low voice, "You are a liar. You always make yourself suffer a lot."
Halle smiled and didn’t say anything. Hilla could tell that although Halle was suffering from the pregnancy and the sickness, she was still happy.
Hilla had to go to the studio when she had time and tried to take care of Emily. Although Halle stopped her a few times, Hilla insisted. "I have a mother- in- law, and she’s more experienced in taking care of the child, while I can’t even do it. Emily has grown up and I know how to get on with her."
Emily nodded and said, "Mom, I will listen to Aunt Hilla. I like to play with her. I won’t hurt you and the baby in your belly."
After saying that, she curiously touched Halle’s belly and asked, "Mom, is there a baby here? When will it come out to play with me?"
She had prepared a lot of gifts for her brother or sister. She was a sensible and good elder sister.
Hilla knew that Halle had not had a good appetite recently, so she found a servant to take care of her.
Although Halle still looked weak, she tried to eat something.
Margaret’s wedding in Far City was about to come. A few days later, Hilla went to Far City alone.
The journey was getting boring, and Hilla couldn’t help but browse the Internet.
Soon, she noticed the news about Toulon.
Ever since Horton had gone to Toulon, Halle would pay attention to the weather and all kinds of news of Toulon every day.
There was a city in Toulon where earthquakes would often take place. Unfortunately, Horton had just been there two days ago to attend the last meeting.
Hilla’s heart skipped a beat, and she had a horrible feeling.
She did not dare to think too much and she called Halle.
No one picked up the phone for a long time. Hilla was very nervous. Suddenly,
Halle’s low voice came.
"You saw the news too, right?"
Hilla’s heart sank.
She knew that Halle, who had been focusing on the news of Toulon every day, would know this the first time.
"Halle, calm down. Let’s call Horton."
Hilla was relieved since Halle was willing to answer her call.
She was afraid that something would happen to Halle because she was too worried.
"I called him just now, but he didn’t answer it."
Halle’s voice was low, and Hilla couldn’t see her expression. She didn’t know how Halle was at this moment.
Hearing Halle’s voice, she could tell that Halle was very worried.
"There might be a problem with the signal tower. I will call the hotel he lives in..."
"There’s no need. I just made a call. The hotel he stayed in was also affected by the earthquake. The hospital also lost contact with him."
"Hilla, there was a call from the hospital just now. They said that Horton might be missing."
The earthquake was so serious. The hotel that Horton lived in was very close to the earthquake source. Many people died there. Halle gripped the phone.
She did not want to think of some bad things. However, she could not see Horton and hear his voice, so she couldn’t calm down now.
"Halle..."
"Hilla, I want to ask you to help me take care of Emily for a few days."
Before Hilla could speak, Halle interrupted her.
From Halle’s hoarse voice, Hilla could tell that she was crying. As expected, Halle was holding back just now. She must have cried.
"Halle, you’re pregnant now, and the earthquake over there hasn’t stopped yet. There may be aftershocks at any time, which is too dangerous. Horton will also stop you if he knows this."
Hilla could guess what Halle was going to do next.
She wanted to stop Halle, but she also knew that Halle would not listen to her at all.
"Hilla, I hope you don’t stop me. I will take care of myself and I won’t get hurt."
What Halle wanted to do was obvious, which made Hilla more anxious.
If she had known this, she should have brought Halle along with her.
Halle’s voice was very soft, but she was very persistent. "I will ask Stella to take care of Emily. I have already booked the plane ticket to Toulon. If Bruce is in Toulon today, you will make the same choice as me."
Hilla gripped the phone in her hand and listened to Halle’s indifferent voice. "Hilla, I want to find him."
Even if she couldn’t find him, she had to stay in a place which was close to him.
