Chapter 637 - 636: I Only Love Serena
Chapter 637 - 636: I Only Love Serena
"I didn’t know it was you."
He explained with a soft voice, carrying a hint of grievance and pleading.
How could he have known that Mr. Sterling’s biological daughter, the granddaughter of the Sterling patriarch, would be Serena?
"An excuse."
The Sterling patriarch wouldn’t let Ethan Grant off so easily, he replied with a cold laugh.
"That’s really how it is." Ethan Grant wished he could turn back time, to unsay those words and to have never signed any agreement.
Seeing that the Sterling patriarch and Mr. Sterling didn’t believe his words, Ethan grew anxious.
He glanced around, the alcohol getting to him, "Grandpa, Dad."
This "Dad," whether directed at the Eldest Master or Mr. Sterling, neither of them wanted to hear it.
"I only love Serena."
He turned his head to gaze at Serena Sullivan, speaking earnestly, "I thought you wanted me to marry someone else."
This was the truth, and with a bit of drunken audacity, he said it in front of Felicity Sterling and June Kane.
When Mr. Sterling and his family came to Solaria, to The Grant Family, although they didn’t explicitly say anything about him marrying Felicity, the entire Grant Family thought so.
When he arrived at the Imperial Capital, the Sterling patriarch spoke to him about an arranged marriage, and of course, he refused immediately, signing an agreement not to marry a Sterling without giving it a second thought.
"If I’ve changed my mind and want to marry a Sterling, it’s only Serena."
The one recognized is not Miss Sterling, but Serena Sullivan.
After this heartfelt confession, everyone present felt Ethan Grant’s feelings for Serena Sullivan.
Felicity Sterling felt a mixture of emotions, grateful that she hadn’t truly fallen for Ethan Grant, insisting she must marry him.
Otherwise, in a love that allows no place for a third person, she would be the only one hurt.
"Hmph." The Sterling patriarch placed the agreement on the dining table, "So, you don’t acknowledge the signature on this agreement."
"Yes!"
Ethan Grant smiled, "I don’t acknowledge it."
Only a fool would acknowledge it!
He didn’t know Serena was Nancy.
"Fine!"
The Sterling patriarch coldly smiled, looking at the empty glass in front of Ethan Grant, "His drink is empty."
"You brothers, don’t you know to refill his drink?"
Just after Ethan had finished a glass, seeing Serena’s heartache, they hesitated to refill it. With the patriarch’s words, Second Master Sterling went over to refill Ethan Grant’s drink.
"Second Brother, just a bit less."
If Ethan keeps drinking like this, it’s a wonder he doesn’t pass out.
Second Master Sterling smiled at Serena, "It’s okay," and continued to fill Ethan Grant’s glass to the brim.
"Drink up."
After pouring, the Sterling patriarch, with a flat tone, urged Ethan Grant to drink.
Ethan Grant picked up his glass and drank without any hesitation, his brashness making Eldest Master Wyatt and the others look at him differently.
After drinking two more large glasses consecutively, Ethan’s face flushed, and he felt dizzy all over.
"Grandpa, I only want Serena!"
He held Serena’s hand, emphasizing in front of the Sterling Family.
"The signature on that agreement, I don’t acknowledge it, I wouldn’t even if I died."
Ethan Grant was drunk, repeatedly denying he wouldn’t marry Serena.
"Good!"
The Sterling patriarch replied, pausing without speaking immediately.
Second Master picked up the bottle, but Wyatt stood up to stop him.
Ethan Grant like this shouldn’t drink anymore.
"I invited you here to discuss your wedding plans. Nancy can’t just follow you without status."
"Dad!"
"Grandpa!"
Simon, James, Eldest and Second Masters, all assumed the patriarch brought Ethan Grant over to give him a hard time. They didn’t expect that after three glasses of wine, the patriarch would agree to the two’s wedding.
