Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure

Chapter 636 - 635: Make Him Drink

Chapter 636 - 635: Make Him Drink

Not long after, Mr. Sterling and Wyatt Sterling arrived. This time, Mr. Sterling hadn’t informed June Kane about the family dinner.

Upon seeing him, June Kane stood up excitedly, "Simon."

She called out and pulled out the adjacent chair, but Mr. Sterling ignored her and led Wyatt to the other side of the dining table.

He chose to sit opposite, publicly undermining June Kane in front of the Sterling family.

"Grandfather!"

The dishes were served, and just as everyone started eating, Ethan Grant stood up and called out to Old Master Sterling.

His call of "Grandfather" rolled off his tongue smoothly.

Old Master Sterling maintained a stern expression, not responding.

Who is Ethan Grant if not the thick-skinned one? When Serena Sullivan had to leave Solaria after losing her legs, he would often visit The Sullivan Residence to play chess and seek advice on calligraphy and painting from Mr. Sullivan.

Due to Serena’s issues, Mr. Sullivan greatly disliked him and would chase him away upon arrival. Ethan, being very persistent, would return repeatedly and even bought Mr. Sullivan a heap of his favorites, finally earning entry into The Sullivan Residence.

Now, as Serena’s elder, Ethan, still wearing his cheeky grin, sought Old Master Sterling’s approval.

"I toast to you."

"Bottoms up as a sign of respect!"

Ethan said with a smile, lifting his glass, ready to drink, when Old Master Sterling spoke, "Replace his wine with liquor."

Upon this command, Second Master Sterling stood up to open the bottle of baijiu, while Eldest Master Sterling handed over the tall glass before him.

Baijiu is strong, typically served in small cups. Tall glasses are better suited for red wine.

Second Master Sterling filled the tall glass with baijiu to the brim, causing Serena Sullivan to worry.

Ethan smiled at her, indicating he could handle it.

He had a decent alcohol tolerance, but...

"Well then, drink it up!"

Old Master Sterling said as he watched Ethan sip the baijiu, speaking with authority.

Ethan had just said, bottoms up as a sign of respect!

Thus, he had to finish the drink!

Ethan froze momentarily; it was red wine before, but now it’s baijiu.

"Grandfather!"

Serena called out, hoping Old Master Sterling would show mercy, not expecting Ethan to lift the glass and drink more than half of the baijiu.

"Ethan!"

Baijiu is harsh on the stomach; drinking this way is uncommon.

"Serena, eat some food."

Wyatt Sterling rotated the dish, diverting Serena’s attention.

Unlike the previous dinner hosted by Mr. Sterling for Ethan, today was truly a sorting feast designed to drink Ethan under the table.

No one stopped him, and even if they did, Ethan would finish the glass of baijiu; this act demonstrated his earnestness and determination in marrying Serena.

Old Master Sterling and the others quietly observed Ethan as he finished his drink, then Ethan sat down and called out again, "Grandfather."

"Hmm!"

Old Master Sterling responded, "I recall when you first arrived in the Imperial Capital, you came to The Sterling Family to sign a document."

Without beating around the bush, Old Master Sterling took out the document Ethan had signed.

Mr. Sterling and Eldest Master Sterling had seen it before.

"What is it?"

Serena asked Ethan confusedly.

Ethan smiled awkwardly; he hadn’t known Serena would turn out to be Simon Sterling’s daughter, nor did he know Old Master Sterling was setting a trap for him.

"You said you wouldn’t marry a daughter from The Sterling Family!"

The old master voiced, saying.

The others who were unaware of this turned to Ethan in surprise, while Mr. Sterling smirked, adding, "He also swore an oath to me."

"Hmm?" Serena was unaware of this, and Ethan reached out to hold her hand, enclosing it in his palm. Having drunk, his body temperature was gradually rising.
