Mr. Grant Treats Me Like a Treasure

Chapter 638 - 637: Poor Judgment

Chapter 638 - 637: Poor Judgment

The agreement came too quickly.

"Let’s get engaged first."

Ethan Grant sobered up and cheerfully chimed in, "Next week, I’ll get engaged to Serena first."

Getting engaged next week and having the wedding in half a month seems perfect to Ethan Grant.

Mr. Sterling’s face darkened. He hadn’t mentioned the engagement date, but Ethan Grant brazenly set it for next week.

So be it, the matter between Ethan Grant and Serena Sullivan should be arranged.

"Thank you!"

A happy Ethan Grant stood up after three glasses of wine. It had been a long time since he felt this joyful. He quickly stood up, raised the glass from the table and said to Mr. Sterling, Simon Sterling, and the others, "I will definitely treat Serena well."

With that, to show his sincerity, he downed another glass of liquor.

He drank quickly, finishing it in a few gulps.

The liquor burned his throat with pain, then his stomach, and finally his heart. As the alcohol hit him, he turned to see Serena Sullivan worriedly tugging at his sleeve. He smiled at her, wanting to say he was happy and fine, but before he could speak, everything suddenly went dark. He fell straight to the ground, alarming everyone.

Wyatt Sterling quickly rushed over, joining Eldest Master Sterling to help Ethan Grant up from the floor.

As Ethan Grant collapsed, the engagement with Serena Sullivan was decided.

Actually, the two of them didn’t need The Sterling Family’s approval. Having been through so much over the years, mutual recognition was enough.

Before leaving the private room, Serena thought for a moment and still mentioned it to Mr. Sterling.

"Grandfather, I need to invite someone to the engagement."

She didn’t specify who it was, but everyone present understood, and June Kane’s expression changed even further.

"Serena, you’re now a Sterling Family daughter. Why bring back those messy people from the past?"

"She’s my mother!" Serena replied calmly, looking at June Kane.

"Your mother? Didn’t she marry that Joel guy and doted on someone else’s daughter?" June Kane mocked, thinking Claire Sullivan was shameless, and hearing she recently got involved with Felix Lockwood.

"So what!"

Serena countered, "There’s nothing wrong with her getting married, her mistake was a lack of judgment."

As she said this, her gaze fell on Mr. Sterling.

Joel Quinn isn’t great, but Mr. Sterling isn’t much better either?

"Grandfather, she is my biological mother." Serena emphasized to Mr. Sterling, "She must attend my engagement banquet."

No matter how delightful her past disputes with Claire Sullivan were, without Claire Sullivan, there would be no her. Those years when Claire Sullivan diligently cared for her.

Claire Sullivan siding with Joel Quinn and his daughter was wrong, but she couldn’t deny Claire Sullivan because of Joel Quinn.

"Dad!" Knowing Claire Sullivan was in Imperial Capital, June Kane panicked, "I don’t agree!"

"Alright!"

Mr. Sterling replied firmly to Serena’s request.

As soon as he spoke, June Kane’s face turned even paler. She forcefully grabbed Felicity Sterling’s hand, causing Felicity to call her "mom" with reddened eyes.

The Sterling Family members left successively, none offering any words of comfort to June Kane, and Mr. Sterling and Wyatt also departed.

June Kane stayed behind till the end, staring blankly around the private room, and slowly stood up to leave.

"Mom!"

Felicity Sterling called out repeatedly as she accompanied her, finally eliciting a response from June Kane.

At the hotel entrance, June Kane turned to look at the worried Felicity Sterling. She sneered, "I loved him so much, but he still doesn’t want me."
