Chapter 605 - 604: What Right Do You Have
The table was indeed filled with many dishes. Serena Sullivan had no appetite, even with Wyatt Sterling occasionally placing food into her bowl.
If Mr. Sterling weren’t in this private room, perhaps she might want to eat.
After casually taking a few bites, Serena asked Mr. Sterling, "Why did you call Ethan Grant here? What do you want to say to him!"
She couldn’t wait to confront Mr. Sterling; he was taken aback for a moment, then put down his chopsticks and looked at Serena, then at Ethan Grant.
"I don’t really approve of you being with him."
Serena was direct, and so was Mr. Sterling.
His words were expected by both Ethan Grant and Serena Sullivan.
If he approved, he wouldn’t have skipped everyone to invite Ethan here alone.
"Ha ha!"
Serena chuckled, turning her head to look at Mr. Sterling.
In Solaria, Claire Sullivan often looked at her face and said she resembled her biological father.
Serena often wondered what her father was like!
For many things, she looked in the mirror, at her own reflection, imagining the appearance of her biological father.
However, being a girl, it was hard to imagine what her father really looked like — or what part of her resembled him!
Upon first seeing Mr. Sterling, she had rolled down from the second floor of the hotel, and as she was about to lose consciousness, a familiar face slowly came into view.
That face was deeply etched into her heart.
Later, she realized why she had felt an inexplicable fondness and a desire to get close to Mr. Sterling with just one glance.
Because he was her biological father!
Yet, he was a father who didn’t want her!
"Mr. Sterling, what right do you have to say this!"
Serena continued sarcastically, placing her chopsticks heavily on the table, her voice softening, "In the name of my uncle, or something else!"
These words pierced Mr. Sterling’s heart, and he fell silent.
Wyatt called softly to Serena, "Serena."
"Dad has his reasons for saying that."
"Whatever reasons he has, those are his own matters!"
Serena smiled faintly, looking at the table full of food, most of which she loved.
Mr. Sterling remembered her preferences very well, but so what!
Could one meal erase all the grievances of the past?
Being abandoned, being used, even touching the edge of hell, how could Serena ever forget it all!
She accompanied Ethan Grant here, and it certainly wasn’t just to have a meal with him.
"If Mr. Sterling has nothing else, my husband and I will be leaving first."
Serena finished speaking, and her hand moved to the button on her wheelchair.
The meal had just begun, and everyone had only taken a few bites.
"Serena."
Wyatt stood up, caught between Mr. Sterling and Serena, feeling torn.
Both were the most important people to him.
"Wait until Dad finishes speaking before leaving!"
Serena paused, turned her head, and glanced at Mr. Sterling, catching a glimpse of the lower half of his face.
"Mr. Sterling, please don’t interfere with my marriage."
"No matter what identity you have, to me, you don’t have that right!"
Serena spoke steadily, every word piercing Mr. Sterling’s heart.
Mr. Sterling slowly lifted his head, looking at Serena who wouldn’t meet his gaze.
Daughters resemble their fathers! Yes, his daughter shared both his temperament and looks.
Stubborn, once she decided on someone, nothing could change her mind.
"Serena, whether you acknowledge me or not, regarding your lifelong matters, I still have the right."
"I don’t like Ethan Grant, but..."
But Serena likes him!
Moreover, the purpose today wasn’t to make Ethan Grant leave Serena.
