Chapter 604 - 603: Family of Three Dining Together
Serena Sullivan was never someone who easily listened to others.
Back then, Claire Sullivan opposed her relationship with Ethan Grant, but she just wouldn’t listen.
In hindsight, Claire’s opposition wasn’t wrong.
The Grant Family looked down on her and her mother, and Renee Grant further sowed discord, causing the elders of the Grant Family not to like her.
If she had really married Ethan Grant back then, her married life probably wouldn’t have been so pleasant.
If it weren’t for Ethan Grant being so persistently affectionate with her, she wouldn’t be with him now.
As for Simon Sterling, even if he wanted to oppose, he probably wouldn’t have the right!
Knowing that Ethan Grant was invited, Wyatt Sterling had postponed his evening engagements and sat just below Mr. Sterling in the hotel suite.
Footsteps could be heard from outside, approaching their direction.
Wyatt took a glance at Mr. Sterling, who had a darkened expression, and lightly coughed, putting on an air.
The suite door was pushed open by the waiter from the outside, and the first thing Wyatt and Mr. Sterling saw wasn’t Ethan Grant, but Serena Sullivan sitting in a wheelchair.
They hadn’t expected Serena to come along, and seeing her at this banquet set for Ethan, they indeed felt guilty.
Wyatt quickly stood up, smiling, and went over to handle the wheelchair.
"Serena, you’re here."
He said to Serena with a face full of smiles. Though they hadn’t known each other long, the mutual understanding and familiarity between them could compare to that with Ethan Grant.
"Yes!"
Seeing him there, Serena also showed a genuinely joyful smile.
Her resentment was towards Mr. Sterling, but she genuinely liked Wyatt, and this liking was inexplicable, surpassing her feelings for Eldest Master Sterling and Second Master Sterling.
Perhaps it was because the two of them were half-siblings.
The wheelchair was pushed away, with Ethan Grant following behind and greeting Wyatt, who was directly ignored. Looking over at Mr. Sterling, there wasn’t even a glance, as all his attention was on Serena.
"Come, sit here!"
Mr. Sterling pressed his lips, the kind of joy unintentionally flowing from his heart.
Serena had been in the Imperial Capital for so long, and they hadn’t had many meals together, each time being at the Sterling Family’s old residence.
Today, expecting Ethan Grant, seeing Serena come was a surprise, but more than that, it made him happy.
For over twenty years, hadn’t he imagined the day when his son and daughter would accompany him!
Well, with an intrusive Ethan Grant added.
Serena ignored Mr. Sterling’s invitation and sat next to Wyatt, with Ethan Grant following suit on her other side.
The four sat down, and Mr. Sterling asked Wyatt to order a few more dishes.
Inviting Ethan Grant meant they casually ordered a few dishes, not intending to have a proper meal with him, perhaps even planning to drive Ethan Grant away mid-meal.
With Serena there, Mr. Sterling held the menu, eager to order all the delicious dishes on it.
"Mr. Sterling!"
Serena wasn’t there for the meal. Seeing Mr. Sterling and Wyatt ordering with the waiter, she spoke up, "If you’ve got something to say, just say it!"
"Let’s wait till the dishes arrive, and discuss while eating."
Mr. Sterling replied, his originally exquisite face softened with a smile while speaking to Serena, making his eyes even gentler.
It truly was a rare opportunity, one he never imagined having.
"Serena, what would you like to drink?" Wyatt then asked. Knowing that Serena was his half-sister gave him a sense of incredulity, she was his own sister!
"You’re hungry, let’s eat here." Ethan Grant noticed that Mr. Sterling and Wyatt were being kind to Serena. It was mealtime, and after this, they’d have to find their own food.
A father inviting his daughter and son-in-law for a meal, very normal!
