Chapter 603 - 602: Afraid Mr. Sterling Will Beat You Up

Ethan Grant was in an especially good mood after moving into Deepwood, and he was unusually diligent, getting up early to help the aunt with plates and cutlery, washing dishes at night, which made First Mrs. Sterling very satisfied and infuriated the three Sterling men.

Ethan spent the whole day lazily dealing with matters at home, mainly so he could stay by Serena Sullivan’s side.

Serena felt rather helpless; he was even clingier than when they first met and he was pursuing her.

She wanted to shoo him out the door, but Ethan just laughed cheekily, leaving her with no choice but to let him be.

Then, when Ethan received a call from The Grant Corporation’s employee, his face turned cold and indifferent, his tone sharp and his thinking meticulous, as if he had become a completely different person.

Success for a person is inevitably linked to their family background, ability, and their own hard work.

After finishing an emergency call, Ethan was about to return to sit next to Serena when his phone rang again, and the number on the screen made him turn his head to look at Serena.

Serena noticed his gaze and met Ethan’s eyes.

"What’s up, Young Master Sterling?"

After learning about Serena’s background, Ethan generally showed a gentle attitude towards The Sterling Family, except for certain individuals.

"What time, okay!"

After responding, Serena asked, "Wyatt Sterling invited you for dinner."

When Ethan called someone "Young Master Sterling," Serena was sure he wasn’t referring to Eldest Master Sterling or Second Master Sterling.

With the two at home, Ethan shamelessly called them "Big Brother, Second Brother."

Since Serena didn’t acknowledge Mr. Sterling, Ethan didn’t either, and considering Wyatt was three months younger than Serena, Ethan felt "Young Master Sterling" was a more fitting title.

"Yep!"

Ethan walked to Serena’s side, crouched down, and smiled as he took her hand in his palm, "In that case, I won’t be able to have dinner with you tonight."

"Serena!"

As he spoke, he half-stood, leaned over, and planted a kiss on Serena’s lips.

His gaze fell again on Serena’s legs. A couple of days ago, he took her to the hospital for a full-body examination; in the next day or two, results would show. He hoped Serena’s legs would get better; he hoped she’d be healthy.

Ethan put on his coat and was opening the door when Serena’s voice came from behind.

"I’ll go with you!"

"Hmm?"

Ethan turned his head, a face full of smiles as he looked at Serena, "Afraid I’ll get beaten by Wyatt Sterling?"

"Afraid of you being hit by Mr. Sterling!" Serena corrected.

Wyatt suddenly inviting Ethan for dinner, if it were a regular day, Serena would assume it was The Grant Corporation and The Sterling Corporation discussing a partnership; even in such a case, if two people ate together, there should have been a secretary notification, not Wyatt calling directly.

Ethan moved into Deepwood, James Sterling definitely called the old man and Simon Sterling.

So Wyatt was the messenger, the real person inviting Ethan to dinner is Simon Sterling.

"Oh!" Ethan responded and pushed Serena out the door, holding her as they got into the car, suddenly reacting.

Serena said she was afraid Mr. Sterling would hit him, meaning that the dinner was actually hosted by Simon Sterling.

If Simon invited, then Simon invited; the issue is Simon is Serena’s biological father, a father Serena doesn’t acknowledge, yet still her real dad!

"Serena, let’s go to the mall first."

To dine with the father-in-law and brother-in-law, Ethan felt it was inappropriate to go empty-handed. He hoped to gain the consent and blessing of all Serena’s relatives.

"No need." Serena replied coolly, glancing at Ethan who seemed a bit nervous, and laughed, "Squatting in Deepwood shamelessly, how is it when seeing him, you’re scared?"

"He’s your dad!"

That’s a fact that can’t be changed.

Moreover, Ethan remembered how he had previously told Mr. Sterling with conviction that he wouldn’t marry his daughter.

"Don’t worry, I’m on your side."

Seeing Ethan’s concern, Serena smiled.
