This time, Ming Yue did not refuse. She obediently got up and walked over, cautiously sitting beside Ye Xiu. He had already proven he could kill her with his oppressive aura alone, so hiding was useless.

She watched Ye Xiu enter the bathroom, and soon, the sound of the shower started. Ming Yue tiptoed toward the door, intending to escape. But as soon as she opened it, she saw Mo Luo standing guard outside, his eyes closed as he cradled a blade.

"Who are you?" Ming Yue asked.

Mo Luo opened his eyes and glanced at her. That single look sent a chill through her entire body.

How terrifying! What kind of gaze was that? It was like a venomous snake’s, cold and utterly devoid of human emotion.

"Pardon the intrusion!"

Ming Yue quickly retreated back into the room. The thought of killing Mo Luo to escape didn’t even cross her mind. If Ye Xiu had him guarding the door, it meant she was no match for him.

Ye Xiu and Ming Yue went out for breakfast. Just as they stepped out, their neighbor’s door opened, and a middle-aged woman, a young mother, and a little boy emerged.

"So you’re that scumbag," the middle-aged woman said after a brief pause. She ran over furiously and threw a punch at Ye Xiu’s face.

"Hey, hey, hey! What scumbag? I don’t know what you’re talking about," Ye Xiu said, dodging quickly, completely bewildered.

"Xiao Bao is calling you ’Daddy’! What’s the point in denying it? I’ll beat you to death, you Chen Shimei!" the middle-aged woman shrieked, lashing out with a wild flurry of punches and her Nine Yin White Bone Claw.

Now Ye Xiu understood. The young woman had a child out of wedlock and didn’t even know who the biological father was. Xiao Bao’s cry of "Daddy" had made the middle-aged woman mistakenly believe Ye Xiu was the one who had gotten her daughter pregnant.

Damn it! What did I do to deserve this?

"Ma’am, please calm down! I’m really not Xiao Bao’s dad, you’ve misunderstood," Ye Xiu explained rapidly while dodging the woman’s chaotic attacks.

"Nonsense! Xiao Bao has never randomly called anyone ’Daddy’ before. He ran right over to you so happily! And you still deny it? You Chen Shimei! If I don’t beat you to death today, then my name isn’t Xu Fengmei!"

The middle-aged woman, Xu Fengmei, was now utterly convinced that Ye Xiu was the Chen Shimei who had knocked up her daughter, and she refused to listen to any explanation.

Ye Xiu understood Xu Fengmei’s feelings. Any parent would be distressed to learn their daughter had a child out of wedlock without even knowing who the father was. It was an overwhelming situation for anyone.

"Mom, please calm down!"

"Bao Niannian, what else do you have to say?" Xu Fengmei said, acting as if she had all the evidence she needed. "You refused to live in the family villa and insisted on moving here alone. It turns out the home of this Chen Shimei is right next door!"

Ye Xiu’s face darkened. Ma’am, you can’t just make baseless accusations. I can’t afford a reputation like Chen Shimei’s.
